יַעֲל֥וּ approach ya·‘ă·lū בָהָֽר׃ the mountain . ” ḇā·hār Exodus 19:14 מֹשֶׁ֛ה When Moses mō·šeh וַיֵּ֧רֶד came down way·yê·reḏ מִן־ from min- הָהָ֖ר the mountain hā·hār אֶל־ to ’el- הָעָ֑ם the people , hā·‘ām וַיְקַדֵּשׁ֙ he consecrated them way·qad·dêš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעָ֔ם - , hā·‘ām וַֽיְכַבְּס֖וּ and they washed way·ḵab·bə·sū שִׂמְלֹתָֽם׃ their clothes . śim·lō·ṯām Exodus 19:15 הֱי֥וּ “ Be hĕ·yū נְכֹנִ֖ים prepared nə·ḵō·nîm לִשְׁלֹ֣שֶׁת for the third liš·lō·šeṯ יָמִ֑ים day , ” yā·mîm וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ he said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- הָעָ֔ם the people . hā·‘ām אַֽל־ “ Do not ’al- תִּגְּשׁ֖וּ draw near tig·gə·šū אֶל־ to ’el- אִשָּֽׁה׃ a woman . ” ’iš·šāh Exodus 19:16 הַשְּׁלִישִׁ֜י On the third haš·šə·lî·šî בַיּ֨וֹם day , ḇay·yō·wm הַבֹּ֗קֶר when morning hab·bō·qer וַיְהִי֩ . . . way·hî וַיְהִי֩ came , way·hî בִּֽהְיֹ֣ת there was bih·yōṯ קֹלֹ֨ת thunder qō·lōṯ וּבְרָקִ֜ים and lightning . ū·ḇə·rā·qîm כָּבֵד֙ A thick kā·ḇêḏ וְעָנָ֤ן cloud wə·‘ā·nān עַל־ was upon ‘al- הָהָ֔ר the mountain , hā·hār חָזָ֣ק and a very loud ḥā·zāq מְאֹ֑ד . . . mə·’ōḏ וְקֹ֥ל blast wə·qōl שֹׁפָ֖ר of the ram’s horn [went out] , šō·p̄ār כָּל־ so that all kāl- הָעָ֖ם the people hā·‘ām אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer בַּֽמַּחֲנֶֽה׃ in the camp bam·ma·ḥă·neh וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד trembled . way·ye·ḥĕ·raḏ Exodus 19:17 מֹשֶׁ֧ה Then Moses mō·šeh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיּוֹצֵ֨א brought way·yō·w·ṣê הָעָ֛ם the people hā·‘ām מִן־ out of min- הַֽמַּחֲנֶ֑ה the camp ham·ma·ḥă·neh לִקְרַ֥את to meet liq·raṯ הָֽאֱלֹהִ֖ים with God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיִּֽתְיַצְּב֖וּ and they stood way·yiṯ·yaṣ·ṣə·ḇū בְּתַחְתִּ֥ית at the foot bə·ṯaḥ·tîṯ הָהָֽר׃ of the mountain . hā·hār Exodus 19:18 וְהַ֤ר Mount wə·har סִינַי֙ Sinai sî·nay כֻּלּ֔וֹ was completely kul·lōw עָשַׁ֣ן enveloped in smoke , ‘ā·šan מִ֠פְּנֵי because mip·pə·nê אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh יָרַ֥ד had descended yā·raḏ עָלָ֛יו on it ‘ā·lāw בָּאֵ֑שׁ in fire . bā·’êš עֲשָׁנוֹ֙ And the smoke ‘ă·šā·nōw וַיַּ֤עַל rose way·ya·‘al כְּעֶ֣שֶׁן like the smoke kə·‘e·šen הַכִּבְשָׁ֔ן of a furnace , hak·kiḇ·šān כָּל־ and the whole kāl- הָהָ֖ר mountain hā·hār וַיֶּחֱרַ֥ד quaked way·ye·ḥĕ·raḏ מְאֹֽד׃ violently . mə·’ōḏ Exodus 19:19 וַיְהִי֙ And as way·hî ק֣וֹל the sound qō·wl הַשּׁוֹפָ֔ר of the ram’s horn haš·šō·w·p̄ār הוֹלֵ֖ךְ grew louder hō·w·lêḵ וְחָזֵ֣ק . . . wə·ḥā·zêq מְאֹ֑ד and louder , mə·’ōḏ מֹשֶׁ֣ה Moses mō·šeh יְדַבֵּ֔ר spoke yə·ḏab·bêr
