לְחַלְּל֑וֹ to profane it . lə·ḥal·lə·lōw וְהִנֵּה־ Yes , wə·hin·nêh- עָשׂ֖וּ they did ‘ā·śū כֹ֥ה this ḵōh בְּת֥וֹךְ inside bə·ṯō·wḵ בֵּיתִֽי׃ My house . bê·ṯî Ezekiel 23:40 וְאַ֗ף Furthermore wə·’ap̄ כִּ֤י . . . , kî תִשְׁלַ֙חְנָה֙ you sisters sent ṯiš·laḥ·nāh מַלְאָ֜ךְ messengers mal·’āḵ שָׁל֤וּחַ - šā·lū·aḥ אֲלֵיהֶם֙ - ’ă·lê·hem לַֽאֲנָשִׁ֔ים for men la·’ă·nā·šîm בָּאִ֖ים who came bā·’îm מִמֶּרְחָ֑ק from afar mim·mer·ḥāq אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ; ’ă·šer וְהִנֵּה־ and behold , wə·hin·nêh- בָ֔אוּ when they arrived , ḇā·’ū רָחַ֛צְתְּ you bathed rā·ḥaṣt לַאֲשֶׁ֥ר for them , la·’ă·šer כָּחַ֥לְתְּ painted kā·ḥalt עֵינַ֖יִךְ your eyes , ‘ê·na·yiḵ וְעָ֥דִית and adorned yourself wə·‘ā·ḏîṯ עֶֽדִי׃ with jewelry . ‘e·ḏî Ezekiel 23:41 וְיָשַׁבְתְּ֙ You sat wə·yā·šaḇt עַל־ on ‘al- מִטָּ֣ה a couch miṭ·ṭāh כְבוּדָּ֔ה of luxury ḵə·ḇū·dāh וְשֻׁלְחָ֥ן with a table wə·šul·ḥān עָר֖וּךְ spread ‘ā·rūḵ לְפָנֶ֑יהָ before it , lə·p̄ā·ne·hā עָלֶֽיהָ׃ on ‘ā·le·hā שַׂ֥מְתְּ which you had set śamt וּקְטָרְתִּ֥י My incense ū·qə·ṭā·rə·tî וְשַׁמְנִ֖י and My oil , wə·šam·nî Ezekiel 23:42 בָהּ֒ accompanied by ḇāh וְק֣וֹל the sound wə·qō·wl שָׁלֵ֣ו of a carefree šā·lêw הָמוֹן֮ crowd . hā·mō·wn סוֹבָאִים Drunkards sō·ḇå̄·ʾīm מוּבָאִ֥ים were brought in mū·ḇā·’îm מִמִּדְבָּ֑ר from the desert mim·miḏ·bār וְאֶל־ along with wə·’el- אֲנָשִׁים֙ men ’ă·nā·šîm מֵרֹ֣ב from the rabble mê·rōḇ אָדָ֔ם . . . , ’ā·ḏām וַֽיִּתְּנ֤וּ who put way·yit·tə·nū צְמִידִים֙ bracelets ṣə·mî·ḏîm אֶל־ on ’el- יְדֵיהֶ֔ן your wrists yə·ḏê·hen תִּפְאֶ֖רֶת and beautiful tip̄·’e·reṯ וַעֲטֶ֥רֶת crowns wa·‘ă·ṭe·reṯ עַל־ on ‘al- רָאשֵׁיהֶֽן׃ your head . rā·šê·hen Ezekiel 23:43 וָאֹמַ֕ר Then I said wā·’ō·mar לַבָּלָ֖ה of [her] [who] [had] [grown] old lab·bā·lāh נִֽאוּפִ֑ים in adulteries : ni·’ū·p̄îm עַתָּ ‘ Now ʿa·tå̄ יִזְנֻה let them use her as a prostitute yiz·nuh תַזְנוּתֶ֖הָ . . . , ṯaz·nū·ṯe·hā וָהִֽיא׃ for that is all she is ! ’ wā·hî Ezekiel 23:44 וַיָּב֣וֹא And they slept way·yā·ḇō·w אֵלֶ֔יהָ with her ’ê·le·hā אֶל־ ’el- כְּב֖וֹא as with kə·ḇō·w אִשָּׁ֣ה a prostitute ’iš·šāh זוֹנָ֑ה . . . ; zō·w·nāh כֵּ֣ן kên בָּ֗אוּ they slept with bā·’ū אֶֽל־ . . . ’el- אָֽהֳלָה֙ Oholah ’ā·ho·lāh וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- אָ֣הֳלִיבָ֔ה and Oholibah , ’ā·ho·lî·ḇāh הַזִּמָּֽה׃ those lewd haz·zim·māh אִשֹּׁ֖ת women . ’iš·šōṯ Ezekiel 23:45 צַדִּיקִ֗ם But righteous ṣad·dî·qim הֵ֚מָּה . . . hêm·māh וַאֲנָשִׁ֣ים men wa·’ă·nā·šîm יִשְׁפְּט֣וּ will sentence yiš·pə·ṭū אֽוֹתְהֶ֔ם them ’ō·wṯ·hem וּמִשְׁפַּ֖ט to the punishment of ū·miš·paṭ נֹֽאֲפ֔וֹת those who commit adultery nō·’ă·p̄ō·wṯ
