Exodus 18:9 יִתְר֔וֹ And Jethro yiṯ·rōw וַיִּ֣חַדְּ rejoiced way·yi·ḥad עַ֚ל over ‘al כָּל־ all kāl- הַטּוֹבָ֔ה the good things haṭ·ṭō·w·ḇāh אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh עָשָׂ֥ה had done ‘ā·śāh לְיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל for Israel , lə·yiś·rā·’êl אֲשֶׁ֥ר whom ’ă·šer הִצִּיל֖וֹ He had rescued hiṣ·ṣî·lōw מִיַּ֥ד from the hand mî·yaḏ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of the Egyptians . miṣ·rā·yim Exodus 18:10 יִתְרוֹ֒ Jethro yiṯ·rōw וַיֹּאמֶר֮ declared , way·yō·mer בָּר֣וּךְ “ Blessed [be] bā·rūḵ יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh אֲשֶׁ֨ר who ’ă·šer הִצִּ֥יל has delivered hiṣ·ṣîl אֶתְכֶ֛ם you ’eṯ·ḵem מִיַּ֥ד from the hand mî·yaḏ מִצְרַ֖יִם of the Egyptians miṣ·ra·yim וּמִיַּ֣ד - ū·mî·yaḏ פַּרְעֹ֑ה and of Pharaoh , par·‘ōh אֲשֶׁ֤ר and who ’ă·šer הִצִּיל֙ has delivered hiṣ·ṣîl אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעָ֔ם the people hā·‘ām מִתַּ֖חַת from mit·ta·ḥaṯ יַד־ the hand yaḏ- מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of the Egyptians . miṣ·rā·yim Exodus 18:11 עַתָּ֣ה Now ‘at·tāh יָדַ֔עְתִּי I know yā·ḏa‘·tî כִּֽי־ that kî- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH Yah·weh גָד֥וֹל is greater ḡā·ḏō·wl מִכָּל־ than all other mik·kāl הָאֱלֹהִ֑ים gods , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm כִּ֣י for kî בַדָּבָ֔ר He did this ḇad·dā·ḇār אֲשֶׁ֥ר when they ’ă·šer זָד֖וּ treated Israel with arrogance zā·ḏū עֲלֵיהֶֽם׃ . . . . ” ‘ă·lê·hem Exodus 18:12 מֹשֶׁ֛ה Then Moses’ mō·šeh חֹתֵ֥ן father-in-law ḥō·ṯên יִתְר֨וֹ Jethro yiṯ·rōw וַיִּקַּ֞ח brought way·yiq·qaḥ עֹלָ֥ה a burnt offering ‘ō·lāh וּזְבָחִ֖ים and sacrifices ū·zə·ḇā·ḥîm לֵֽאלֹהִ֑ים to God , lê·lō·hîm אַהֲרֹ֜ן and Aaron ’a·hă·rōn וַיָּבֹ֨א came way·yā·ḇō וְכֹ֣ל׀ with all wə·ḵōl זִקְנֵ֣י the elders ziq·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl לֶאֱכָל־ to eat le·’ĕ·ḵāl- לֶ֛חֶם bread le·ḥem עִם־ with ‘im- מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses’ mō·šeh חֹתֵ֥ן father-in-law ḥō·ṯên לִפְנֵ֥י in the presence lip̄·nê הָאֱלֹהִֽים׃ of God . hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm Exodus 18:13 וַיְהִי֙ - way·hî מִֽמָּחֳרָ֔ת The next day mim·mā·ḥo·rāṯ מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mō·šeh וַיֵּ֥שֶׁב took his seat way·yê·šeḇ לִשְׁפֹּ֣ט to judge liš·pōṭ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָעָ֑ם the people , hā·‘ām וַיַּעֲמֹ֤ד and they stood way·ya·‘ă·mōḏ הָעָם֙ . . . hā·‘ām עַל־ around ‘al- מֹשֶׁ֔ה [him] mō·šeh מִן־ from min- הַבֹּ֖קֶר morning hab·bō·qer עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הָעָֽרֶב׃ evening . hā·‘ā·reḇ Exodus 18:14 מֹשֶׁ֔ה When [his] mō·šeh אֵ֛ת - ’êṯ חֹתֵ֣ן father-in-law ḥō·ṯên וַיַּרְא֙ saw way·yar כָּל־ all kāl- אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- ה֥וּא [Moses] hū עֹשֶׂ֖ה was doing ‘ō·śeh
