Ezekiel 1:8 מִתַּ֙חַת֙ Under mit·ta·ḥaṯ כַּנְפֵיהֶ֔ם their wings kan·p̄ê·hem עַ֖ל on ‘al אַרְבַּ֣עַת their four ’ar·ba·‘aṯ רִבְעֵיהֶ֑ם sides riḇ·‘ê·hem אָדָ֗ם they had human ’ā·ḏām וְיָדוֹ hands . wə·yå̄·ḏō לְאַרְבַּעְתָּֽם׃ All four [living creatures] lə·’ar·ba‘·tām וּפְנֵיהֶ֥ם had faces ū·p̄ə·nê·hem וְכַנְפֵיהֶ֖ם and wings , wə·ḵan·p̄ê·hem Ezekiel 1:9 כַּנְפֵיהֶ֑ם and their wings kan·p̄ê·hem חֹֽבְרֹ֛ת were touching ḥō·ḇə·rōṯ אֶל־ one ’el- אֲחוֹתָ֖הּ another . ’ă·ḥō·w·ṯāh אִשָּׁ֥ה . . . ’iš·šāh לֹא־ They did not lō- יִסַּ֣בּוּ turn yis·sab·bū בְלֶכְתָּ֔ן as they moved ; ḇə·leḵ·tān אִ֛ישׁ each ’îš אֶל־ . . . ’el- יֵלֵֽכוּ׃ one went yê·lê·ḵū עֵ֥בֶר straight ‘ê·ḇer פָּנָ֖יו ahead . pā·nāw Ezekiel 1:10 וּדְמ֣וּת The form ū·ḏə·mūṯ פְּנֵיהֶם֮ of their faces pə·nê·hem פְּנֵ֣י was that pə·nê אָדָם֒ of a man , ’ā·ḏām לְאַרְבַּעְתָּ֔ם and each of the four lə·’ar·ba‘·tām וּפְנֵ֨י had the face ū·p̄ə·nê אַרְיֵ֤ה of a lion ’ar·yêh אֶל־ on ’el- הַיָּמִין֙ the right side , hay·yā·mîn וּפְנֵי־ the face ū·p̄ə·nê- שׁ֥וֹר of an ox šō·wr מֵֽהַשְּׂמֹ֖אול on the left side , mê·haś·śə·mō·wl לְאַרְבַּעְתָּ֑ן and also lə·’ar·ba‘·tān וּפְנֵי־ the face ū·p̄ə·nê- נֶ֖שֶׁר of an eagle ne·šer לְאַרְבַּעְתָּֽן׃ . . . . lə·’ar·ba‘·tān Ezekiel 1:11 וּפְנֵיהֶ֕ם Such were their faces . ū·p̄ə·nê·hem וְכַנְפֵיהֶ֥ם Their wings wə·ḵan·p̄ê·hem פְּרֻד֖וֹת were spread pə·ru·ḏō·wṯ מִלְמָ֑עְלָה upward ; mil·mā·‘ə·lāh לְאִ֗ישׁ each [had] lə·’îš שְׁ֚תַּיִם two [wings] ta·yim חֹבְר֣וֹת touching ḥō·ḇə·rō·wṯ אִ֔ישׁ the wings of the creature on either side , ’îš וּשְׁתַּ֣יִם and two ū·šə·ta·yim מְכַסּ֔וֹת wings covering mə·ḵas·sō·wṯ אֵ֖ת its ’êṯ גְּוִיֹתֵיהֶֽנָה׃ body . gə·wi·yō·ṯē·hɛ·nå̄h Ezekiel 1:12 וְאִ֛ישׁ Each wə·’îš יֵלֵ֑כוּ [creature] went yê·lê·ḵū אֶל־ straight ahead ’el- עֵ֥בֶר . . . ‘ê·ḇer פָּנָ֖יו . . . . pā·nāw אֶ֣ל Wherever ’el אֲשֶׁר֩ - ’ă·šer יִֽהְיֶה־ - yih·yeh- שָׁ֨מָּה . . . šām·māh הָר֤וּחַ the spirit hā·rū·aḥ לָלֶ֙כֶת֙ would go , lā·le·ḵeṯ יֵלֵ֔כוּ they would go , yê·lê·ḵū לֹ֥א without lō יִסַּ֖בּוּ turning yis·sab·bū בְּלֶכְתָּֽן׃ as they moved . bə·leḵ·tān Ezekiel 1:13 וּדְמ֨וּת In the midst ū·ḏə·mūṯ הַחַיּ֜וֹת of the living creatures ha·ḥay·yō·wṯ מַרְאֵיהֶ֣ם was the appearance mar·’ê·hem אֵ֗שׁ of glowing ’êš כְּגַחֲלֵי־ coals kə·ḡa·ḥă·lê- בֹּֽעֲרוֹת֙ of fire , bō·‘ă·rō·wṯ כְּמַרְאֵ֣ה [or] kə·mar·’êh הַלַּפִּדִ֔ים of torches . hal·lap·pi·ḏîm הִ֕יא . . . hî לָאֵ֔שׁ Fire lā·’êš מִתְהַלֶּ֖כֶת moved back and forth miṯ·hal·le·ḵeṯ בֵּ֣ין between bên הַחַיּ֑וֹת the living creatures ; ha·ḥay·yō·wṯ וְנֹ֣גַהּ it was bright , wə·nō·ḡah בָרָֽק׃ and lightning ḇā·rāq יוֹצֵ֥א flashed yō·w·ṣê
