Jeremiah 48:35 לְמוֹאָ֖ב In Moab , lə·mō·w·’āḇ נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh וְהִשְׁבַּתִּ֥י I will bring an end wə·hiš·bat·tî מַעֲלֶ֣ה to those who make offerings ma·‘ă·leh בָמָ֔ה on the high places ḇā·māh וּמַקְטִ֖יר and burn incense ū·maq·ṭîr לֵאלֹהָֽיו׃ to their gods . lê·lō·hāw Jeremiah 48:36 עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּ֞ן . . . kên לִבִּ֤י My heart lib·bî יֶהֱמֶ֔ה laments ye·hĕ·meh כַּחֲלִלִ֣ים like a flute ka·ḥă·li·lîm לְמוֹאָב֙ for Moab ; lə·mō·w·’āḇ וְלִבִּי֙ [it] wə·lib·bî יֶהֱמֶ֑ה laments ye·hĕ·meh כַּחֲלִילִ֖ים like a flute ka·ḥă·lî·lîm אֶל־ for ’el- אַנְשֵׁ֣י the men ’an·šê קִֽיר־ vvv qîr- חֶ֔רֶשׂ of Kir-heres , ḥe·reś עַל־ because ‘al- כֵּ֛ן . . . kên יִתְרַ֥ת the wealth yiṯ·raṯ עָשָׂ֖ה they acquired ‘ā·śāh אָבָֽדוּ׃ has perished . ’ā·ḇā·ḏū Jeremiah 48:37 כִּ֤י For kî כָל־ every ḵāl רֹאשׁ֙ head rōš קָרְחָ֔ה is shaved qā·rə·ḥāh וְכָל־ and every wə·ḵāl זָקָ֖ן beard zā·qān גְּרֻעָ֑ה is clipped ; gə·ru·‘āh עַ֤ל on ‘al כָּל־ every kāl- יָדַ֙יִם֙ hand yā·ḏa·yim גְּדֻדֹ֔ת is a gash , gə·ḏu·ḏōṯ וְעַל־ and around wə·‘al- מָתְנַ֖יִם every waist mā·ṯə·na·yim שָֽׂק׃ [is] sackcloth . śāq Jeremiah 48:38 עַ֣ל On ‘al כָּל־ all kāl- גַּגּ֥וֹת the rooftops gag·gō·wṯ מוֹאָ֛ב of Moab mō·w·’āḇ וּבִרְחֹבֹתֶ֖יהָ and in the public squares , ū·ḇir·ḥō·ḇō·ṯe·hā כֻּלֹּ֣ה everyone kul·lōh מִסְפֵּ֑ד is mourning ; mis·pêḏ כִּֽי־ for kî- שָׁבַ֣רְתִּי I have shattered šā·ḇar·tî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מוֹאָ֗ב Moab mō·w·’āḇ אֵֽין־ vvv ’ên- חֵ֥פֶץ like an unwanted ḥê·p̄eṣ כִּכְלִ֛י jar kiḵ·lî בּ֖וֹ , ” bōw נְאֻם־ declares nə·’um- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Jeremiah 48:39 אֵ֥יךְ “ How ’êḵ חַ֙תָּה֙ shattered [it is] ! ḥat·tāh הֵילִ֔ילוּ How they wail ! hê·lî·lū אֵ֛יךְ How ’êḵ מוֹאָ֖ב Moab mō·w·’āḇ הִפְנָה־ has turned hip̄·nāh- עֹ֥רֶף his back ‘ō·rep̄ בּ֑וֹשׁ in shame ! bō·wōš מוֹאָ֛ב Moab mō·w·’āḇ וְהָיָ֥ה has become wə·hā·yāh לִשְׂחֹ֥ק an object of ridicule liś·ḥōq וְלִמְחִתָּ֖ה and horror wə·lim·ḥit·tāh לְכָל־ to all those lə·ḵāl סְבִיבָֽיו׃ס around him .” sə·ḇî·ḇāw Jeremiah 48:40 כִּי־ For kî- כֹה֙ this is what ḵōh יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar הִנֵּ֥ה “ Behold , hin·nêh כַנֶּ֖שֶׁר an eagle ḵan·ne·šer יִדְאֶ֑ה swoops down yiḏ·’eh וּפָרַ֥שׂ and spreads ū·p̄ā·raś כְּנָפָ֖יו his wings kə·nā·p̄āw אֶל־ against ’el- מוֹאָֽב׃ Moab . mō·w·’āḇ
