Jeremiah 48:15 מוֹאָב֙ Moab mō·w·’āḇ שֻׁדַּ֤ד has been destroyed šud·daḏ וְעָרֶ֣יהָ and its towns wə·‘ā·re·hā עָלָ֔ה have been invaded ; ‘ā·lāh וּמִבְחַ֥ר the best ū·miḇ·ḥar בַּֽחוּרָ֖יו of its young men ba·ḥū·rāw יָרְד֣וּ have gone down yā·rə·ḏū לַטָּ֑בַח in the slaughter , laṭ·ṭā·ḇaḥ נְאֻ֨ם־ declares nə·’um- הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the King , ham·me·leḵ שְׁמֽוֹ׃ whose name šə·mōw יְהוָ֥ה [is] YHWH Yah·weh צְבָא֖וֹת of Hosts . ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ Jeremiah 48:16 מוֹאָ֖ב Moab’s mō·w·’āḇ אֵיד־ calamity ’êḏ- קָר֥וֹב is at hand qā·rō·wḇ לָב֑וֹא . . . , lā·ḇō·w וְרָ֣עָת֔וֹ and his affliction wə·rā·‘ā·ṯōw מִהֲרָ֖ה is rushing mi·hă·rāh מְאֹֽד׃ swiftly . mə·’ōḏ Jeremiah 48:17 נֻ֤דוּ Mourn nu·ḏū לוֹ֙ for him , lōw כָּל־ all you kāl- סְבִיבָ֔יו who surround him , sə·ḇî·ḇāw וְכֹ֖ל everyone wə·ḵōl יֹדְעֵ֣י who knows yō·ḏə·‘ê שְׁמ֑וֹ his name ; šə·mōw אִמְר֗וּ tell ’im·rū אֵיכָ֤ה how ’ê·ḵāh עֹ֔ז the mighty ‘ōz מַטֵּה־ scepter maṭ·ṭêh- נִשְׁבַּר֙ is shattered — niš·bar תִּפְאָרָֽה׃ the glorious tip̄·’ā·rāh מַקֵּ֖ל staff ! maq·qêl Jeremiah 48:18 רְדִ֤י Come down rə·ḏî מִכָּבוֹד֙ from your glory ; mik·kā·ḇō·wḏ יֹשְׁבֶי sit yō·šə·ḇɛ בַצָּמָ֔א on parched ground , ḇaṣ·ṣā·mā בַּת־ O daughter baṯ- יֹשֶׁ֖בֶת dwelling yō·še·ḇeṯ דִּיב֑וֹן in Dibon , dî·ḇō·wn כִּֽי־ for kî- שֹׁדֵ֤ד the destroyer šō·ḏêḏ מוֹאָב֙ of Moab mō·w·’āḇ עָ֣לָה has come ‘ā·lāh בָ֔ךְ against you ; ḇāḵ שִׁחֵ֖ת he has destroyed ši·ḥêṯ מִבְצָרָֽיִךְ׃ your fortresses . miḇ·ṣā·rā·yiḵ Jeremiah 48:19 עִמְדִ֥י Stand ‘im·ḏî אֶל־ by ’el- דֶּ֛רֶךְ the road de·reḵ וְצַפִּ֖י and watch , wə·ṣap·pî יוֹשֶׁ֣בֶת O dweller yō·wō·še·ḇeṯ עֲרוֹעֵ֑ר of Aroer ! ‘ă·rō·w·‘êr שַׁאֲלִי־ Ask ša·’ă·lî- נָ֣ס the man fleeing nās וְנִמְלָ֔טָה or the woman escaping wə·nim·lā·ṭāh אִמְרִ֖י . . . , ’im·rî מַה־ ‘ What mah- נִּֽהְיָֽתָה׃ has happened ? ’ nih·yā·ṯāh Jeremiah 48:20 מוֹאָ֛ב Moab mō·w·’āḇ הֹבִ֥ישׁ is put to shame , hō·ḇîš כִּֽי־ for kî- חַ֖תָּה it has been shattered . ḥat·tāh הֵילִילִי Wail hē·lī·lī וּזְעָקִי and cry out ! ū·zə·ʿå̄·qī הַגִּ֣ידוּ Declare hag·gî·ḏū בְאַרְנ֔וֹן by the Arnon ḇə·’ar·nō·wn כִּ֥י that kî מוֹאָֽב׃ Moab mō·w·’āḇ שֻׁדַּ֖ד is destroyed . šud·daḏ Jeremiah 48:21 וּמִשְׁפָּ֥ט Judgment ū·miš·pāṭ בָּ֖א has come bā אֶל־ upon ’el- אֶ֣רֶץ vvv ’e·reṣ הַמִּישֹׁ֑ר the high plain — ham·mî·šōr אֶל־ upon ’el- חֹל֥וֹן Holon , ḥō·lō·wn וְאֶל־ . . . wə·’el- יַ֖הְצָה Jahzah , yah·ṣāh וְעַל־ and wə·‘al-
