בָּהֶ֖ם . . . bā·hem יוֹשֵֽׁב׃ . . . yō·wō·šêḇ Jeremiah 44:3 מִפְּנֵ֣י because of mip·pə·nê רָעָתָ֗ם the evil rā·‘ā·ṯām אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer עָשׂוּ֙ they have done . ‘ā·śū לְהַכְעִסֵ֔נִי They provoked Me to anger lə·haḵ·‘i·sê·nî לָלֶ֣כֶת by continuing lā·le·ḵeṯ לְקַטֵּ֔ר to burn incense lə·qaṭ·ṭêr לַעֲבֹ֖ד [and] to serve la·‘ă·ḇōḏ אֲחֵרִ֑ים other ’ă·ḥê·rîm אֲשֶׁר֙ - ’ă·šer לֵאלֹהִ֣ים gods lê·lō·hîm לֹ֣א that neither lō הֵ֖מָּה they hêm·māh אַתֶּ֥ם [nor] you ’at·tem וַאֲבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ nor your fathers wa·’ă·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem יְדָע֔וּם ever knew . yə·ḏā·‘ūm Jeremiah 44:4 וָאֶשְׁלַ֤ח Yet I sent wā·’eš·laḥ אֲלֵיכֶם֙ you ’ă·lê·ḵem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- עֲבָדַ֣י My servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏay הַנְּבִיאִ֔ים the prophets han·nə·ḇî·’îm הַשְׁכֵּ֥ים again and again haš·kêm וְשָׁלֹ֖חַ . . . , wə·šā·lō·aḥ לֵאמֹ֑ר saying : lê·mōr אַל־ ‘ Do not ’al- נָ֣א . . . nā תַעֲשׂ֗וּ do ṯa·‘ă·śū אֵ֛ת - ’êṯ הַזֹּ֖את this haz·zōṯ הַתֹּעֵבָ֥ה detestable hat·tō·‘ê·ḇāh דְּבַֽר־ thing də·ḇar- אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer שָׂנֵֽאתִי׃ I hate . ’ śā·nê·ṯî Jeremiah 44:5 וְלֹ֤א But they did not wə·lō שָֽׁמְעוּ֙ listen šā·mə·‘ū הִטּ֣וּ or incline hiṭ·ṭū אֶת־ ’eṯ- אָזְנָ֔ם their ears ; ’ā·zə·nām וְלֹא־ they did not wə·lō- לָשׁ֖וּב turn lā·šūḇ מֵרָֽעָתָ֑ם from their wickedness mê·rā·‘ā·ṯām לְבִלְתִּ֥י or stop lə·ḇil·tî קַטֵּ֖ר burning incense qaṭ·ṭêr אֲחֵרִֽים׃ to other ’ă·ḥê·rîm לֵאלֹהִ֥ים gods . lê·lō·hîm Jeremiah 44:6 חֲמָתִי֙ Therefore My wrath ḥă·mā·ṯî וְאַפִּ֔י and anger wə·’ap·pî וַתִּתַּ֤ךְ poured out wat·tit·taḵ וַתִּבְעַר֙ and burned wat·tiḇ·‘ar בְּעָרֵ֣י in the cities bə·‘ā·rê יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וּבְחֻצ֖וֹת and in the streets ū·ḇə·ḥu·ṣō·wṯ יְרֽוּשָׁלִָ֑ם of Jerusalem , yə·rū·šā·lim וַתִּהְיֶ֛ינָה so that they have become wat·tih·ye·nāh לְחָרְבָּ֥ה the desolate lə·ḥā·rə·bāh לִשְׁמָמָ֖ה ruin liš·mā·māh כַּיּ֥וֹם they are today kay·yō·wm הַזֶּֽה׃ס . . . . haz·zeh Jeremiah 44:7 וְעַתָּ֡ה So now , wə·‘at·tāh כֹּֽה־ this is what kōh- יְהוָה֩ YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֨י God ’ĕ·lō·hê צְבָא֜וֹת of Hosts , ṣə·ḇā·’ō·wṯ אֱלֹהֵ֣י the God ’ĕ·lō·hê יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar לָמָה֩ Why lā·māh אַתֶּ֨ם are you ’at·tem עֹשִׂ֜ים doing ‘ō·śîm גְדוֹלָה֙ such great ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh רָעָ֤ה harm rā·‘āh אֶל־ to ’el- נַפְשֹׁ֣תֵכֶ֔ם yourselves nap̄·šō·ṯê·ḵem לְהַכְרִ֨ית by cutting off lə·haḵ·rîṯ מִתּ֣וֹךְ from mit·tō·wḵ יְהוּדָ֑ה Judah yə·hū·ḏāh לָכֶ֧ם lā·ḵem אִישׁ־ man ’îš- וְאִשָּׁ֛ה and woman , wə·’iš·šāh עוֹלֵ֥ל child ‘ō·w·lêl וְיוֹנֵ֖ק and infant , wə·yō·w·nêq הוֹתִ֥יר leaving hō·w·ṯîr
