נוֹתַ֨ר was left nō·w·ṯar בָּעֵ֛ץ on any tree bā·‘êṣ וּבְעֵ֥שֶׂב or plant ū·ḇə·‘ê·śeḇ הַשָּׂדֶ֖ה . . . haś·śā·ḏeh בְּכָל־ in all bə·ḵāl אֶ֥רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt . miṣ·rā·yim Exodus 10:16 פַּרְעֹ֔ה Pharaoh par·‘ōh וַיְמַהֵ֣ר quickly way·ma·hêr לִקְרֹ֖א summoned liq·rō לְמֹשֶׁ֣ה Moses lə·mō·šeh וּֽלְאַהֲרֹ֑ן and Aaron ū·lə·’a·hă·rōn וַיֹּ֗אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer חָטָ֛אתִי “ I have sinned ḥā·ṭā·ṯî לַיהוָ֥ה against YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹֽהֵיכֶ֖ם your God ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem וְלָכֶֽם׃ and against you . wə·lā·ḵem Exodus 10:17 וְעַתָּ֗ה Now wə·‘at·tāh נָ֤א please nā שָׂ֣א forgive śā חַטָּאתִי֙ my sin ḥaṭ·ṭā·ṯî אַ֣ךְ once more ’aḵ הַפַּ֔עַם . . . hap·pa·‘am וְהַעְתִּ֖ירוּ and appeal wə·ha‘·tî·rū לַיהוָ֣ה to YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם your God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem וְיָסֵר֙ that He may remove wə·yā·sêr הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הַמָּ֥וֶת death ham·mā·weṯ מֵֽעָלַ֔י from me . ” mê·‘ā·lay רַ֖ק . . . raq אֶת־ - ’eṯ- Exodus 10:18 וַיֵּצֵ֖א So Moses left way·yê·ṣê מֵעִ֣ם . . . mê·‘im פַּרְעֹ֑ה Pharaoh’s par·‘ōh וַיֶּעְתַּ֖ר presence and appealed way·ye‘·tar אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָֽה׃ YHWH . Yah·weh Exodus 10:19 יְהוָ֤ה And YHWH Yah·weh וַיַּהֲפֹ֨ךְ changed the wind way·ya·hă·p̄ōḵ חָזָ֣ק to a very strong ḥā·zāq מְאֹ֔ד . . . mə·’ōḏ יָם֙ west yām רֽוּחַ־ wind rū·aḥ- וַיִּשָּׂא֙ that carried off way·yiś·śā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָ֣אַרְבֶּ֔ה the locusts hā·’ar·beh וַיִּתְקָעֵ֖הוּ and blew them way·yiṯ·qā·‘ê·hū סּ֑וּף into the Red sūp̄ יָ֣מָּה Sea . yām·māh לֹ֤א Not lō אֶחָ֔ד a single ’e·ḥāḏ אַרְבֶּ֣ה locust ’ar·beh נִשְׁאַר֙ remained niš·’ar בְּכֹ֖ל anywhere bə·ḵōl גְּב֥וּל in gə·ḇūl מִצְרָֽיִם׃ Egypt . miṣ·rā·yim Exodus 10:20 יְהוָ֖ה But YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיְחַזֵּ֥ק hardened way·ḥaz·zêq פַּרְעֹ֑ה Pharaoh’s par·‘ōh לֵ֣ב heart , lêḇ וְלֹ֥א and he would not wə·lō בְּנֵ֥י let the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ . . . yiś·rā·’êl שִׁלַּ֖ח go . šil·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- Exodus 10:21 יְהוָ֜ה Then YHWH Yah·weh וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- מֹשֶׁ֗ה Moses , mō·šeh נְטֵ֤ה “ Stretch out nə·ṭêh יָֽדְךָ֙ your hand yā·ḏə·ḵā עַל־ toward ‘al- הַשָּׁמַ֔יִם heaven , haš·šā·ma·yim חֹ֖שֶׁךְ so that darkness ḥō·šeḵ וִ֥יהִי may spread wî·hî עַל־ over ‘al- אֶ֣רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt — miṣ·rā·yim וְיָמֵ֖שׁ a palpable wə·yā·mêš חֹֽשֶׁךְ׃ darkness . ” ḥō·šeḵ
