כַּיּוֹנֵ֜ק like a tender shoot , kay·yō·w·nêq וְכַשֹּׁ֙רֶשׁ֙ and like a root wə·ḵaš·šō·reš צִיָּ֔ה out of dry ṣî·yāh מֵאֶ֣רֶץ ground . mê·’e·reṣ לֹא־ He had no lō- תֹ֥אַר [stately] form ṯō·’ar ל֖וֹ lōw הָדָ֑ר or majesty hā·ḏār וְנִרְאֵ֥הוּ to attract us , wə·nir·’ê·hū וְלֹֽא־ no wə·lō- וְלֹ֣א - wə·lō מַרְאֶ֖ה beauty mar·’eh וְנֶחְמְדֵֽהוּ׃ that we should desire Him . wə·neḥ·mə·ḏê·hū Isaiah 53:3 נִבְזֶה֙ He was despised niḇ·zeh וַחֲדַ֣ל and rejected wa·ḥă·ḏal אִישִׁ֔ים by men , ’î·šîm אִ֥ישׁ a man ’îš מַכְאֹב֖וֹת of sorrows , maḵ·’ō·ḇō·wṯ וִיד֣וּעַ acquainted wî·ḏū·a‘ חֹ֑לִי with grief . ḥō·lî וּכְמַסְתֵּ֤ר Like one from whom men hide ū·ḵə·mas·têr מִמֶּ֔נּוּ . . . mim·men·nū פָּנִים֙ their faces , pā·nîm נִבְזֶ֖ה He was despised , niḇ·zeh חֲשַׁבְנֻֽהוּ׃ and we esteemed Him ḥă·šaḇ·nu·hū וְלֹ֥א not . wə·lō Isaiah 53:4 אָכֵ֤ן Surely ’ā·ḵên ה֣וּא He hū נָשָׂ֔א took on nā·śā חֳלָיֵ֙נוּ֙ our infirmities ḥo·lā·yê·nū סְבָלָ֑ם and carried sə·ḇā·lām וּמַכְאֹבֵ֖ינוּ our sorrows ; ū·maḵ·’ō·ḇê·nū וַאֲנַ֣חְנוּ yet we wa·’ă·naḥ·nū חֲשַׁבְנֻ֔הוּ considered Him ḥă·šaḇ·nu·hū נָג֛וּעַ stricken nā·ḡū·a‘ אֱלֹהִ֖ים by God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm מֻכֵּ֥ה struck down muk·kêh וּמְעֻנֶּֽה׃ and afflicted . ū·mə·‘un·neh Isaiah 53:5 וְהוּא֙ But He wə·hū מְחֹלָ֣ל was pierced mə·ḥō·lāl מִפְּשָׁעֵ֔נוּ for our transgressions , mip·pə·šā·‘ê·nū מְדֻכָּ֖א He was crushed mə·ḏuk·kā מֵעֲוֺנֹתֵ֑ינוּ for our iniquities ; mê·‘ă·wō·nō·ṯê·nū מוּסַ֤ר the punishment mū·sar שְׁלוֹמֵ֙נוּ֙ that brought us peace šə·lō·w·mê·nū עָלָ֔יו was upon Him , ‘ā·lāw וּבַחֲבֻרָת֖וֹ and by His stripes ū·ḇa·ḥă·ḇu·rā·ṯōw נִרְפָּא־ we are healed . nir·pā- לָֽנוּ׃ lā·nū Isaiah 53:6 כֻּלָּ֙נוּ֙ We all kul·lā·nū כַּצֹּ֣אן like sheep kaṣ·ṣōn תָּעִ֔ינוּ have gone astray , tā·‘î·nū אִ֥ישׁ each one ’îš פָּנִ֑ינוּ has turned pā·nî·nū לְדַרְכּ֖וֹ to his own way ; lə·ḏar·kōw וַֽיהוָה֙ and YHWH Yah·weh הִפְגִּ֣יעַ has laid hip̄·gî·a‘ בּ֔וֹ bōw אֵ֖ת upon Him ’êṯ עֲוֺ֥ן the iniquity ‘ă·wōn כֻּלָּֽנוּ׃ of us all . kul·lā·nū Isaiah 53:7 נִגַּ֨שׂ He was oppressed nig·gaś וְה֣וּא . . . wə·hū נַעֲנֶה֮ and afflicted , na·‘ă·neh וְלֹ֣א yet He did not wə·lō יִפְתַּח־ open yip̄·taḥ- פִּיו֒ His mouth . pîw יוּבָ֔ל He was led yū·ḇāl כַּשֶּׂה֙ like a lamb kaś·śeh לַטֶּ֣בַח to the slaughter , laṭ·ṭe·ḇaḥ וּכְרָחֵ֕ל and as a sheep ū·ḵə·rā·ḥêl לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê גֹזְזֶ֖יהָ her shearers ḡō·zə·ze·hā נֶאֱלָ֑מָה is silent , ne·’ĕ·lā·māh וְלֹ֥א so He did not wə·lō יִפְתַּ֖ח open yip̄·taḥ פִּֽיו׃ His mouth . pîw Isaiah 53:8 מֵעֹ֤צֶר By oppression mê·‘ō·ṣer וּמִמִּשְׁפָּט֙ and judgment ū·mim·miš·pāṭ לֻקָּ֔ח He was taken away , luq·qāḥ וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- מִ֣י who mî
