Isaiah 49:2 וַיָּ֤שֶׂם He made way·yā·śem פִּי֙ My mouth pî חַדָּ֔ה like a sharp ḥad·dāh כְּחֶ֣רֶב sword ; kə·ḥe·reḇ הֶחְבִּיאָ֑נִי He hid Me heḥ·bî·’ā·nî בְּצֵ֥ל in the shadow bə·ṣêl יָד֖וֹ of His hand . yā·ḏōw וַיְשִׂימֵ֙נִי֙ He made Me way·śî·mê·nî בָּר֔וּר like a polished bā·rūr לְחֵ֣ץ arrow ; lə·ḥêṣ הִסְתִּירָֽנִי׃ He hid Me his·tî·rā·nî בְּאַשְׁפָּת֖וֹ in His quiver . bə·’aš·pā·ṯōw Isaiah 49:3 וַיֹּ֥אמֶר He said way·yō·mer לִ֖י to Me , lî אָ֑תָּה “ You ’āt·tāh עַבְדִּי־ are My Servant , ‘aḇ·dî- יִשְׂרָאֵ֕ל Israel , yiś·rā·’êl אֲשֶׁר־ in whom ’ă·šer- בְּךָ֖ bə·ḵā אֶתְפָּאָֽר׃ I will display My glory . ” ’eṯ·pā·’ār Isaiah 49:4 וַאֲנִ֤י But I wa·’ă·nî אָמַ֙רְתִּי֙ said , ’ā·mar·tî יָגַ֔עְתִּי “ I have labored yā·ḡa‘·tî לְרִ֣יק in vain , lə·rîq כִלֵּ֑יתִי I have spent ḵil·lê·ṯî כֹּחִ֣י My strength kō·ḥî לְתֹ֥הוּ in futility lə·ṯō·hū וְהֶ֖בֶל and vanity ; wə·he·ḇel אָכֵן֙ yet ’ā·ḵên מִשְׁפָּטִ֣י My vindication miš·pā·ṭî אֶת־ is with ’eṯ- יְהוָ֔ה YHWH , Yah·weh וּפְעֻלָּתִ֖י and My reward ū·p̄ə·‘ul·lā·ṯî אֶת־ is with ’eṯ- אֱלֹהָֽי׃ My God . ” ’ĕ·lō·hāy Isaiah 49:5 וְעַתָּ֣ה׀ And now wə·‘at·tāh אָמַ֣ר says ’ā·mar יְהוָ֗ה YHWH , Yah·weh יֹצְרִ֤י who formed Me yō·ṣə·rî מִבֶּ֙טֶן֙ from the womb mib·be·ṭen לְעֶ֣בֶד to be His Servant lə·‘e·ḇeḏ ל֔וֹ , lōw יַֽעֲקֹב֙ to bring Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ לְשׁוֹבֵ֤ב back lə·šō·w·ḇêḇ אֵלָ֔יו to Him , ’ê·lāw וְיִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל that Israel wə·yiś·rā·’êl לֹא . . . lō יֵאָסֵ֑ף might be gathered to Him — yê·’ā·sêp̄ וְאֶכָּבֵד֙ for I am honored wə·’ek·kā·ḇêḏ בְּעֵינֵ֣י in the sight bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH , Yah·weh וֵאלֹהַ֖י and My God wê·lō·hay הָיָ֥ה is hā·yāh עֻזִּֽי׃ My strength — ‘uz·zî Isaiah 49:6 וַיֹּ֗אמֶר He says : way·yō·mer נָקֵ֨ל “ It is not enough nā·qêl מִֽהְיוֹתְךָ֥ for You to be mih·yō·wṯ·ḵā לִי֙ My lî עֶ֔בֶד Servant , ‘e·ḇeḏ לְהָקִים֙ to raise up lə·hā·qîm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- שִׁבְטֵ֣י the tribes šiḇ·ṭê יַעֲקֹ֔ב of Jacob , ya·‘ă·qōḇ לְהָשִׁ֑יב and to restore lə·hā·šîḇ וּנְצִירֵי the protected ū·nə·ṣī·rē יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל ones of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl וּנְתַתִּ֙יךָ֙ I will also make ū·nə·ṯat·tî·ḵā לְא֣וֹר You a light lə·’ō·wr גּוֹיִ֔ם for the nations , gō·w·yim לִֽהְי֥וֹת to bring lih·yō·wṯ יְשׁוּעָתִ֖י My salvation yə·šū·‘ā·ṯî עַד־ to ‘aḏ- קְצֵ֥ה the ends qə·ṣêh הָאָֽרֶץ׃ס of the earth . ” hā·’ā·reṣ Isaiah 49:7 כֹּ֣ה Thus kōh אָֽמַר־ says ’ā·mar- יְהוָה֩ YHWH , Yah·weh גֹּאֵ֨ל the Redeemer gō·’êl קְדוֹשׁ֗וֹ [and] Holy One qə·ḏō·wō·šōw יִשְׂרָאֵ֜ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl נֶ֜פֶשׁ to Him who ne·p̄eš לִבְזֹה־ was despised liḇ·zōh-
