יַגִּ֥ידוּ Let him foretell yag·gî·ḏū לָֽמוֹ׃ lā·mōw וְאֹתִיּ֛וֹת the things to come , wə·’ō·ṯî·yō·wṯ וַאֲשֶׁ֥ר and what wa·’ă·šer תָּבֹ֖אנָה is to take place . tā·ḇō·nāh Isaiah 44:8 אַֽל־ Do not ’al- תִּפְחֲדוּ֙ tremble tip̄·ḥă·ḏū וְאַל־ [or] wə·’al- תִּרְה֔וּ fear . tir·hū הֲלֹ֥א Have I not hă·lō הִשְׁמַעְתִּ֥יךָ told you hiš·ma‘·tî·ḵā וְהִגַּ֖דְתִּי and declared it wə·hig·gaḏ·tî מֵאָ֛ז long ago ? mê·’āz וְאַתֶּ֣ם You wə·’at·tem עֵדָ֑י are My witnesses ! ‘ê·ḏāy הֲיֵ֤שׁ Is there hă·yêš אֱל֙וֹהַּ֙ any God ’ĕ·lō·w·ah מִבַּלְעָדַ֔י but Me ? mib·bal·‘ā·ḏay וְאֵ֥ין There is no wə·’ên צ֖וּר other Rock ; ṣūr יָדָֽעְתִּי׃ I know yā·ḏā·‘ə·tî בַּל־ not one . ” bal- Isaiah 44:9 כֻּלָּם֙ All kul·lām יֹֽצְרֵי־ makers yō·ṣə·rê- פֶ֤סֶל of idols p̄e·sel תֹּ֔הוּ are nothing , tō·hū וַחֲמוּדֵיהֶ֖ם and the things they treasure wa·ḥă·mū·ḏê·hem בַּל־ vvv bal- יוֹעִ֑ילוּ are worthless . yō·w·‘î·lū וְעֵדֵיהֶ֣ם Their witnesses wə·‘ê·ḏê·hem הֵׄ֗מָּׄהׄ . . . hēm·må̄h בַּל־ fail to bal- יִרְא֛וּ see yir·’ū וּבַל־ . . . ū·ḇal- יֵדְע֖וּ or comprehend , yê·ḏə·‘ū לְמַ֥עַן so lə·ma·‘an יֵבֹֽשׁוּ׃ they are put to shame . yê·ḇō·šū Isaiah 44:10 מִֽי־ Who mî- יָצַ֥ר fashions yā·ṣar אֵ֖ל a god ’êl נָסָ֑ךְ or casts nā·sāḵ וּפֶ֣סֶל an idol ū·p̄e·sel הוֹעִֽיל׃ which profits him hō·w·‘îl לְבִלְתִּ֖י nothing ? lə·ḇil·tî Isaiah 44:11 הֵ֤ן Behold , hên כָּל־ all kāl- חֲבֵרָיו֙ his companions ḥă·ḇê·rāw יֵבֹ֔שׁוּ will be put to shame , yê·ḇō·šū וְחָרָשִׁ֥ים for the craftsmen wə·ḥā·rā·šîm הֵ֖מָּה themselves hêm·māh מֵֽאָדָ֑ם are only human . mê·’ā·ḏām כֻלָּם֙ Let them all ḵul·lām יִֽתְקַבְּצ֤וּ assemble yiṯ·qab·bə·ṣū יַֽעֲמֹ֔דוּ and take their stand ; ya·‘ă·mō·ḏū יָֽחַד׃ they will all yā·ḥaḏ יִפְחֲד֖וּ be brought to terror yip̄·ḥă·ḏū יֵבֹ֥שׁוּ and shame . yê·ḇō·šū Isaiah 44:12 חָרַ֤שׁ The blacksmith ḥā·raš בַּרְזֶל֙ . . . bar·zel מַֽעֲצָ֔ד takes a tool ma·‘ă·ṣāḏ וּפָעַל֙ and labors ū·p̄ā·‘al בַּפֶּחָ֔ם over the coals ; bap·pe·ḥām יִצְּרֵ֑הוּ he fashions [an idol] yiṣ·ṣə·rê·hū וּבַמַּקָּב֖וֹת with hammers ū·ḇam·maq·qā·ḇō·wṯ וַיִּפְעָלֵ֙הוּ֙ and forges [it] way·yip̄·‘ā·lê·hū כֹּח֔וֹ with his strong kō·ḥōw בִּזְר֣וֹעַ arms . biz·rō·w·a‘ גַּם־ Yet gam- רָעֵב֙ he grows hungry rā·‘êḇ כֹּ֔חַ and loses his strength kō·aḥ וְאֵ֣ין . . . ; wə·’ên לֹא־ he fails lō- שָׁ֥תָה to drink šā·ṯāh מַ֖יִם water ma·yim וַיִּיעָֽף׃ and grows faint . way·yî·‘āp̄ Isaiah 44:13 חָרַ֣שׁ The woodworker ḥā·raš עֵצִים֮ . . . ‘ê·ṣîm נָ֣טָה extends nā·ṭāh קָו֒ a measuring line ; qāw יְתָאֲרֵ֣הוּ he marks it out yə·ṯā·’ă·rê·hū בַשֶּׂ֔רֶד with a stylus ; ḇaś·śe·reḏ יַעֲשֵׂ֙הוּ֙ he shapes ya·‘ă·śê·hū
