Isaiah 41:1 הַחֲרִ֤ישׁוּ “ Be silent ha·ḥă·rî·šū אֵלַי֙ before Me , ’ê·lay אִיִּ֔ים O islands , ’î·yîm וּלְאֻמִּ֖ים and let the peoples ū·lə·’um·mîm יַחֲלִ֣יפוּ renew ya·ḥă·lî·p̄ū כֹ֑חַ their strength . ḵō·aḥ יִגְּשׁוּ֙ Let them come forward yig·gə·šū אָ֣ז and ’āz יְדַבֵּ֔רוּ testify ; yə·ḏab·bê·rū יַחְדָּ֖ו let us together yaḥ·dāw נִקְרָֽבָה׃ draw near niq·rā·ḇāh לַמִּשְׁפָּ֥ט for judgment . lam·miš·pāṭ Isaiah 41:2 מִ֤י Who mî הֵעִיר֙ has aroused hê·‘îr מִמִּזְרָ֔ח one from the east mim·miz·rāḥ יִקְרָאֵ֣הוּ [and] called him yiq·rā·’ê·hū לְרַגְל֑וֹ to his feet lə·raḡ·lōw צֶ֖דֶק in righteousness ? ṣe·ḏeq גּוֹיִם֙ He hands nations gō·w·yim יִתֵּ֨ן over yit·tên לְפָנָ֤יו to him lə·p̄ā·nāw יַ֔רְדְּ [and] subdues yard וּמְלָכִ֣ים kings [before him] . ū·mə·lā·ḵîm יִתֵּ֤ן He turns them yit·tên כֶּֽעָפָר֙ to dust ke·‘ā·p̄ār חַרְבּ֔וֹ with his sword , ḥar·bōw נִדָּ֖ף to windblown nid·dāp̄ כְּקַ֥שׁ chaff kə·qaš קַשְׁתּֽוֹ׃ with his bow . qaš·tōw Isaiah 41:3 יִרְדְּפֵ֖ם He pursues them , yir·də·p̄êm יַעֲב֣וֹר going on ya·‘ă·ḇō·wr שָׁל֑וֹם safely , šā·lō·wm לֹ֥א hardly lō יָבֽוֹא׃ touching yā·ḇō·w אֹ֥רַח the path ’ō·raḥ בְּרַגְלָ֖יו with his feet . bə·raḡ·lāw Isaiah 41:4 מִֽי־ Who mî- פָעַ֣ל has performed this p̄ā·‘al וְעָשָׂ֔ה and carried it out , wə·‘ā·śāh קֹרֵ֥א calling forth qō·rê הַדֹּר֖וֹת the generations had·dō·rō·wṯ מֵרֹ֑אשׁ from the beginning ? mê·rōš אֲנִ֤י I , ’ă·nî יְהוָה֙ YHWH — Yah·weh רִאשׁ֔וֹן the first ri·šō·wn וְאֶת־ and wə·’eṯ- אַחֲרֹנִ֖ים the last — ’a·ḥă·rō·nîm אֲנִי־ I ’ă·nî- הֽוּא׃ am He . ” hū Isaiah 41:5 אִיִּים֙ The islands ’î·yîm רָא֤וּ see rā·’ū וְיִירָ֔אוּ and fear ; wə·yî·rā·’ū קְצ֥וֹת the ends qə·ṣō·wṯ הָאָ֖רֶץ of the earth hā·’ā·reṣ יֶחֱרָ֑דוּ tremble . ye·ḥĕ·rā·ḏū קָרְב֖וּ They approach qā·rə·ḇū וַיֶּאֱתָיֽוּן׃ and come forward . way·ye·’ĕ·ṯā·yūn Isaiah 41:6 אִ֥ישׁ Each one ’îš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יַעְזֹ֑רוּ helps ya‘·zō·rū רֵעֵ֖הוּ the other rê·‘ê·hū יֹאמַ֥ר and says yō·mar וּלְאָחִ֖יו to his brother , ū·lə·’ā·ḥîw חֲזָֽק׃ “ Be strong ! ” ḥă·zāq Isaiah 41:7 חָרָשׁ֙ The craftsman ḥā·rāš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיְחַזֵּ֤ק encourages way·ḥaz·zêq צֹרֵ֔ף the goldsmith , ṣō·rêp̄ מַחֲלִ֥יק [and] he who wields ma·ḥă·lîq פַּטִּ֖ישׁ the hammer paṭ·ṭîš אֶת־ - ’eṯ- ה֣וֹלֶם [cheers] him who strikes hō·w·lem פָּ֑עַם the anvil , pā·‘am אֹמֵ֤ר saying ’ō·mêr לַדֶּ֙בֶק֙ of the welding , lad·de·ḇeq ה֔וּא “ It hū ט֣וֹב is good . ” ṭō·wḇ וַיְחַזְּקֵ֥הוּ He nails it down way·ḥaz·zə·qê·hū בְמַסְמְרִ֖ים . . . ḇə·mas·mə·rîm לֹ֥א so it will not lō יִמּֽוֹט׃ס be toppled . yim·mō·wṭ
