יִשְׁפָּ֑לוּ made low ; yiš·pā·lū הֶֽעָקֹב֙ the uneven [ground] he·‘ā·qōḇ וְהָיָ֤ה will become wə·hā·yāh לְמִישׁ֔וֹר smooth , lə·mî·šō·wr וְהָרְכָסִ֖ים and the rugged land wə·hā·rə·ḵā·sîm לְבִקְעָֽה׃ a plain . lə·ḇiq·‘āh Isaiah 40:5 כְּב֣וֹד And the glory kə·ḇō·wḏ יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh וְנִגְלָ֖ה will be revealed , wə·niḡ·lāh כָל־ and all ḵāl בָּשָׂר֙ humanity bā·śār יַחְדָּ֔ו together yaḥ·dāw וְרָא֤וּ will see it . wə·rā·’ū כִּ֛י For kî פִּ֥י the mouth pî יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh דִּבֵּֽר׃ס has spoken . ” dib·bêr Isaiah 40:6 ק֚וֹל A voice qō·wl אֹמֵ֣ר says , ’ō·mêr קְרָ֔א “ Cry out ! ” qə·rā וְאָמַ֖ר And I asked , wə·’ā·mar מָ֣ה “ What māh אֶקְרָ֑א should I cry out ? ” ’eq·rā כָּל־ “ All kāl- הַבָּשָׂ֣ר flesh hab·bā·śār חָצִ֔יר is like grass , ḥā·ṣîr וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl חַסְדּ֖וֹ its glory ḥas·dōw כְּצִ֥יץ like the flowers kə·ṣîṣ הַשָּׂדֶֽה׃ of the field . haś·śā·ḏeh Isaiah 40:7 חָצִיר֙ The grass ḥā·ṣîr יָבֵ֤שׁ withers yā·ḇêš צִ֔יץ [and] the flowers ṣîṣ נָ֣בֵֽל fall nā·ḇêl כִּ֛י when kî ר֥וּחַ the breath rū·aḥ יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh נָ֣שְׁבָה blows nā·šə·ḇāh בּ֑וֹ on them ; bōw אָכֵ֥ן indeed , ’ā·ḵên הָעָֽם׃ the people hā·‘ām חָצִ֖יר are grass . ḥā·ṣîr Isaiah 40:8 חָצִ֖יר The grass ḥā·ṣîr יָבֵ֥שׁ withers yā·ḇêš צִ֑יץ [and] the flowers ṣîṣ נָ֣בֵֽל fall , nā·ḇêl וּדְבַר־ but the word ū·ḏə·ḇar- אֱלֹהֵ֖ינוּ of our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū יָק֥וּם stands yā·qūm לְעוֹלָֽם׃ס forever . ” lə·‘ō·w·lām Isaiah 40:9 עֲלִי־ Go up ‘ă·lî- לָךְ֙ lāḵ עַ֣ל on ‘al גָּבֹ֤הַ a high gā·ḇō·ha הַר־ mountain , har- צִיּ֔וֹן O Zion , ṣî·yō·wn מְבַשֶּׂ֣רֶת herald of good news . mə·ḇaś·śe·reṯ הָרִ֤ימִי Raise hā·rî·mî קוֹלֵ֔ךְ your voice loudly qō·w·lêḵ בַכֹּ֙חַ֙ . . . , ḇak·kō·aḥ יְרוּשָׁלִָ֑ם O Jerusalem , yə·rū·šā·lim מְבַשֶּׂ֖רֶת herald of good news . mə·ḇaś·śe·reṯ הָרִ֙ימִי֙ Lift [it] up , hā·rî·mî אַל־ do not ’al- תִּירָ֔אִי be afraid ! tî·rā·’î אִמְרִי֙ Say ’im·rî לְעָרֵ֣י to the cities lə·‘ā·rê יְהוּדָ֔ה of Judah , yə·hū·ḏāh הִנֵּ֖ה “ Here hin·nêh אֱלֹהֵיכֶֽם׃ is your God ! ” ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem Isaiah 40:10 הִנֵּ֨ה Behold , hin·nêh אֲדֹנָ֤י the Lord ’ă·ḏō·nāy יְהוִה֙ YHWH Yah·weh יָב֔וֹא comes yā·ḇō·w בְּחָזָ֣ק with might , bə·ḥā·zāq וּזְרֹע֖וֹ and His arm ū·zə·rō·‘ōw מֹ֣שְׁלָה establishes His rule mō·šə·lāh ל֑וֹ . . . . lōw הִנֵּ֤ה hin·nêh שְׂכָרוֹ֙ His reward śə·ḵā·rōw אִתּ֔וֹ is with Him , ’it·tōw וּפְעֻלָּת֖וֹ and His recompense ū·p̄ə·‘ul·lā·ṯōw
