וּמַֽה־ What , ū·mah- בַּר־ O son bar- בִּטְנִ֑י of my womb ? biṭ·nî וּ֝מֶה What , ū·meh בַּר־ O son bar- נְדָרָֽי׃ of my vows ? nə·ḏā·rāy Proverbs 31:3 אַל־ Do not ’al- תִּתֵּ֣ן spend tit·tên חֵילֶ֑ךָ your strength ḥê·le·ḵā לַנָּשִׁ֣ים on women lan·nā·šîm וּ֝דְרָכֶ֗יךָ or your vigor ū·ḏə·rā·ḵe·ḵā לַֽמְח֥וֹת on those who ruin lam·ḥō·wṯ מְלָכִֽין׃ kings . mə·lā·ḵîn Proverbs 31:4 אַ֤ל It is not ’al לַֽמְלָכִ֨ים׀ for kings , lam·lā·ḵîm לְֽמוֹאֵ֗ל O Lemuel , lə·mō·w·’êl אַ֣ל it is not ’al לַֽמְלָכִ֣ים for kings lam·lā·ḵîm שְׁתוֹ־ to drink šə·ṯōw- יָ֑יִן wine , yā·yin וּ֝לְרוֹזְנִ֗ים or for rulers ū·lə·rō·wz·nîm אוֹ [to crave] ʾō שֵׁכָֽר׃ strong drink , šê·ḵār Proverbs 31:5 פֶּן־ lest pen- יִ֭שְׁתֶּה they drink yiš·teh וְיִשְׁכַּ֣ח and forget wə·yiš·kaḥ מְחֻקָּ֑ק what is decreed , mə·ḥuq·qāq וִֽ֝ישַׁנֶּה depriving wî·šan·neh כָּל־ all kāl- בְּנֵי־ the oppressed bə·nê- עֹֽנִי׃ . . . ‘ō·nî דִּ֣ין of justice . dîn Proverbs 31:6 תְּנוּ־ Give tə·nū- שֵׁכָ֣ר strong drink šê·ḵār לְאוֹבֵ֑ד to one who is perishing , lə·’ō·w·ḇêḏ וְ֝יַיִן and wine wə·ya·yin לְמָ֣רֵי to the bitter lə·mā·rê נָֽפֶשׁ׃ in soul . nā·p̄eš Proverbs 31:7 יִ֭שְׁתֶּה Let him drink yiš·teh וְיִשְׁכַּ֣ח and forget wə·yiš·kaḥ רִישׁ֑וֹ his poverty , rî·šōw יִזְכָּר־ and remember yiz·kār- וַ֝עֲמָל֗וֹ his misery wa·‘ă·mā·lōw לֹ֣א no lō עֽוֹד׃ more . ‘ō·wḏ Proverbs 31:8 פְּתַח־ Open pə·ṯaḥ- פִּ֥יךָ your mouth pî·ḵā לְאִלֵּ֑ם for those with no voice , lə·’il·lêm אֶל־ for ’el- דִּ֝֗ין the cause dîn כָּל־ of all kāl- בְּנֵ֥י the dispossessed bə·nê חֲלֽוֹף׃ . . . . ḥă·lō·wp̄ Proverbs 31:9 פְּתַח־ Open pə·ṯaḥ- פִּ֥יךָ your mouth , pî·ḵā שְׁפָט־ judge šə·p̄āṭ- צֶ֑דֶק righteously , ṣe·ḏeq וְ֝דִ֗ין and defend the cause wə·ḏîn עָנִ֥י of the poor ‘ā·nî וְאֶבְיֽוֹן׃פ and needy . wə·’eḇ·yō·wn Proverbs 31:10 אֵֽשֶׁת־ A wife ’ê·šeṯ- חַ֭יִל of noble character , ḥa·yil מִ֣י who mî יִמְצָ֑א can find ? yim·ṣā וְרָחֹ֖ק She is far wə·rā·ḥōq מִכְרָֽהּ׃ more precious miḵ·rāh מִפְּנִינִ֣ים than rubies . mip·pə·nî·nîm Proverbs 31:11 לֵ֣ב The heart lêḇ בַּעְלָ֑הּ of her husband ba‘·lāh בָּ֣טַח trusts bā·ṭaḥ בָּ֭הּ in her , bāh יֶחְסָֽר׃ and he lacks yeḥ·sār לֹ֣א nothing lō
