Proverbs 28:20 אֱ֭מוּנוֹת A faithful ’ĕ·mū·nō·wṯ אִ֣ישׁ man ’îš רַב־ will abound raḇ- בְּרָכ֑וֹת with blessings , bə·rā·ḵō·wṯ וְאָ֥ץ but one eager wə·’āṣ לְ֝הַעֲשִׁ֗יר to be rich lə·ha·‘ă·šîr לֹ֣א will not lō יִנָּקֶֽה׃ go unpunished . yin·nā·qeh Proverbs 28:21 הַֽכֵּר־ To show partiality hak·kêr- פָּנִ֥ים . . . pā·nîm לֹא־ [is] not lō- ט֑וֹב good , ṭō·wḇ גָּֽבֶר׃ yet a man gā·ḇer יִפְשַׁע־ will do wrong yip̄·ša‘- וְעַל־ for wə·‘al- פַּת־ a piece paṯ- לֶ֝֗חֶם of bread . le·ḥem Proverbs 28:22 רַ֣ע A stingy ra‘ עָ֑יִן . . . ‘ā·yin אִ֭ישׁ man ’îš נִֽבֳהָ֥ל hastens ni·ḇo·hāl לַה֗וֹן after wealth la·hō·wn וְלֹֽא־ and does not wə·lō- יֵ֝דַע know yê·ḏa‘ כִּי־ that kî- חֶ֥סֶר poverty ḥe·ser יְבֹאֶֽנּוּ׃ awaits him . yə·ḇō·’en·nū Proverbs 28:23 מ֘וֹכִ֤יחַ He who rebukes mō·w·ḵî·aḥ אָדָ֣ם a man ’ā·ḏām אַ֭חֲרַי will later ’a·ḥă·ray יִמְצָ֑א find yim·ṣā חֵ֣ן more favor ḥên מִֽמַּחֲלִ֥יק than one who flatters mim·ma·ḥă·lîq לָשֽׁוֹן׃ with his tongue . lā·šō·wn Proverbs 28:24 גּוֹזֵ֤ל׀ He who robs gō·w·zêl אָ֘בִ֤יו his father ’ā·ḇîw וְאִמּ֗וֹ or mother , wə·’im·mōw וְאֹמֵ֥ר saying , wə·’ō·mêr אֵֽין־ “ It is not ’ên- פָּ֑שַׁע wrong , ” pā·ša‘ חָבֵ֥ר is a companion ḥā·ḇêr ה֝֗וּא . . . hū לְאִ֣ישׁ to the man lə·’îš מַשְׁחִֽית׃ who destroys . maš·ḥîṯ Proverbs 28:25 רְחַב־ A greedy man rə·ḥaḇ- נֶ֭פֶשׁ . . . ne·p̄eš יְגָרֶ֣ה stirs up yə·ḡā·reh מָד֑וֹן strife , mā·ḏō·wn וּבוֹטֵ֖חַ but he who trusts ū·ḇō·w·ṭê·aḥ עַל־ in ‘al- יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh יְדֻשָּֽׁן׃ will prosper . yə·ḏuš·šān Proverbs 28:26 בּוֹטֵ֣חַ He who trusts bō·w·ṭê·aḥ בְּ֭לִבּוֹ in himself bə·lib·bōw ה֣וּא . . . hū כְסִ֑יל is a fool , ḵə·sîl וְהוֹלֵ֥ךְ but one who walks wə·hō·w·lêḵ בְּ֝חָכְמָ֗ה in wisdom bə·ḥā·ḵə·māh ה֣וּא . . . hū יִמָּלֵֽט׃ will be safe . yim·mā·lêṭ Proverbs 28:27 נוֹתֵ֣ן Whoever gives nō·w·ṯên לָ֭רָשׁ to the poor lā·rāš אֵ֣ין will not ’ên מַחְס֑וֹר be in need , maḥ·sō·wr וּמַעְלִ֥ים but he who hides ū·ma‘·lîm עֵ֝ינָ֗יו his eyes ‘ê·nāw רַב־ will receive many raḇ- מְאֵרֽוֹת׃ curses . mə·’ê·rō·wṯ Proverbs 28:28 רְ֭שָׁעִים When the wicked rə·šā·‘îm בְּק֣וּם come to power , bə·qūm אָדָ֑ם people ’ā·ḏām יִסָּתֵ֣ר hide themselves ; yis·sā·ṯêr וּ֝בְאָבְדָ֗ם but when they perish , ū·ḇə·’ā·ḇə·ḏām צַדִּיקִֽים׃ the righteous ṣad·dî·qîm יִרְבּ֥וּ flourish . yir·bū
