Proverbs 28:11 עָשִׁ֑יר A rich ‘ā·šîr אִ֣ישׁ man ’îš חָכָ֣ם is wise ḥā·ḵām בְּ֭עֵינָיו in his own eyes , bə·‘ê·nāw וְדַ֖ל but a poor man wə·ḏal מֵבִ֣ין with discernment mê·ḇîn יַחְקְרֶֽנּוּ׃ sees through him . yaḥ·qə·ren·nū Proverbs 28:12 צַ֭דִּיקִים When the righteous ṣad·dî·qîm בַּעֲלֹ֣ץ triumph , ba·‘ă·lōṣ רַבָּ֣ה there is great rab·bāh תִפְאָ֑רֶת glory , ṯip̄·’ā·reṯ רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים but when the wicked rə·šā·‘îm וּבְק֥וּם rise , ū·ḇə·qūm אָדָֽם׃ men ’ā·ḏām יְחֻפַּ֥שׂ hide themselves . yə·ḥup·paś Proverbs 28:13 מְכַסֶּ֣ה He who conceals mə·ḵas·seh פְ֭שָׁעָיו his sins p̄ə·šā·‘āw לֹ֣א will not lō יַצְלִ֑יחַ prosper , yaṣ·lî·aḥ וּמוֹדֶ֖ה but whoever confesses ū·mō·w·ḏeh וְעֹזֵ֣ב and renounces them wə·‘ō·zêḇ יְרֻחָֽם׃ will find mercy . yə·ru·ḥām Proverbs 28:14 אַשְׁרֵ֣י Blessed ’aš·rê אָ֭דָם [is] the man ’ā·ḏām תָּמִ֑יד who is always tā·mîḏ מְפַחֵ֣ד reverent , mə·p̄a·ḥêḏ וּמַקְשֶׁ֥ה but he who hardens ū·maq·šeh לִ֝בּ֗וֹ his heart lib·bōw יִפּ֥וֹל falls yip·pō·wl בְּרָעָֽה׃ into trouble . bə·rā·‘āh Proverbs 28:15 נֹ֭הֵם Like a roaring nō·hêm אֲרִי־ lion ’ă·rî- שׁוֹקֵ֑ק or a charging šō·w·qêq וְדֹ֣ב bear wə·ḏōḇ רָ֝שָׁ֗ע is a wicked rā·šā‘ מֹשֵׁ֥ל ruler mō·šêl עַ֣ל over ‘al דָּֽל׃ a helpless dāl עַם־ people . ‘am- Proverbs 28:16 נָגִ֗יד A leader nā·ḡîḏ חֲסַ֣ר who lacks ḥă·sar תְּ֭בוּנוֹת judgment tə·ḇū·nō·wṯ וְרַ֥ב [is] also a great wə·raḇ מַעֲשַׁקּ֑וֹת oppressor , ma·‘ă·šaq·qō·wṯ שֹׂנְאֵי but he who hates śō·nə·ʾē בֶ֝֗צַע dishonest profit ḇe·ṣa‘ יַאֲרִ֥יךְ will prolong ya·’ă·rîḵ יָמִֽים׃פ [his] days . yā·mîm Proverbs 28:17 אָ֭דָם A man ’ā·ḏām עָשֻׁ֣ק burdened ‘ā·šuq בְּדַם־ by bloodguilt bə·ḏam- נָפֶשׁ . . . nå̄·p̄ɛš יָ֝נ֗וּס will flee yā·nūs עַד־ into ‘aḏ- בּ֥וֹר the Pit ; bō·wr אַל־ let no one ’al- יִתְמְכוּ־ support yiṯ·mə·ḵū- בֽוֹ׃ him . ḇōw Proverbs 28:18 הוֹלֵ֣ךְ He who walks hō·w·lêḵ תָּ֭מִים with integrity tā·mîm יִוָּשֵׁ֑עַ will be kept safe , yiw·wā·šê·a‘ וְנֶעְקַ֥שׁ but whoever is perverse wə·ne‘·qaš דְּ֝רָכַ֗יִם [in his] ways də·rā·ḵa·yim בְּאֶחָֽת׃ will suddenly bə·’e·ḥāṯ יִפּ֥וֹל fall . yip·pō·wl Proverbs 28:19 עֹבֵ֣ד The one who works ‘ō·ḇêḏ אַ֭דְמָתוֹ his land ’aḏ·mā·ṯōw יִֽשְׂבַּֽע־ will have plenty of yiś·ba‘- לָ֑חֶם food , lā·ḥem וּמְרַדֵּ֥ף but whoever chases ū·mə·rad·dêp̄ רֵ֝קִ֗ים fantasies rê·qîm יִֽשְׂבַּֽע־ will have his fill yiś·ba‘- רִֽישׁ׃ of poverty . rîš
