Proverbs 15:20 חָ֭כָם A wise ḥā·ḵām בֵּ֣ן son bên יְשַׂמַּח־ brings joy yə·śam·maḥ- אָ֑ב to his father , ’āḇ וּכְסִ֥יל but a foolish ū·ḵə·sîl אָ֝דָ֗ם man ’ā·ḏām בּוֹזֶ֥ה despises bō·w·zeh אִמּֽוֹ׃ his mother . ’im·mōw Proverbs 15:21 אִ֭וֶּלֶת Folly ’iw·we·leṯ שִׂמְחָ֣ה is joy śim·ḥāh לַחֲסַר־ to one who lacks la·ḥă·sar- לֵ֑ב judgment , lêḇ וְאִ֥ישׁ but a man wə·’îš תְּ֝בוּנָ֗ה of understanding tə·ḇū·nāh לָֽכֶת׃ walks lå̄·ḵɛṯ יְיַשֶׁר־ a straight path . yə·yaš·šer- Proverbs 15:22 מַ֭חֲשָׁבוֹת Plans ma·ḥă·šā·ḇō·wṯ הָפֵ֣ר fail hā·p̄êr בְּאֵ֣ין for lack bə·’ên ס֑וֹד of counsel , sō·wḏ וּבְרֹ֖ב but with many ū·ḇə·rōḇ יוֹעֲצִ֣ים advisers yō·w·‘ă·ṣîm תָּקֽוּם׃ they succeed . tā·qūm Proverbs 15:23 לָ֭אִישׁ A man lā·’îš שִׂמְחָ֣ה takes joy śim·ḥāh בְּמַעֲנֵה־ in a fitting reply bə·ma·‘ă·nêh- פִ֑יו . . . — p̄îw מַה־ and how mah- טּֽוֹב׃ good is ṭō·wḇ בְּעִתּ֣וֹ a timely bə·‘it·tōw וְדָבָ֖ר word ! wə·ḏā·ḇār Proverbs 15:24 אֹ֣רַח The path ’ō·raḥ חַ֭יִּים of life ḥay·yîm לְמַ֣עְלָה [leads] upward lə·ma‘·lāh לְמַשְׂכִּ֑יל for the wise , lə·maś·kîl לְמַ֥עַן that lə·ma·‘an ס֝֗וּר he may avoid sūr מָֽטָּה׃ going down māṭ·ṭāh מִשְּׁא֥וֹל to Sheol . miš·šə·’ō·wl Proverbs 15:25 יְהוָ֑ה YHWH Yah·weh יִסַּ֥ח׀ tears down yis·saḥ בֵּ֣ית the house bêṯ גֵּ֭אִים of the proud , gê·’îm וְ֝יַצֵּ֗ב but He protects wə·yaṣ·ṣêḇ גְּב֣וּל the boundaries gə·ḇūl אַלְמָנָֽה׃ of the widow . ’al·mā·nāh Proverbs 15:26 יְ֭הוָה YHWH Yah·weh תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת detests tō·w·‘ă·ḇaṯ מַחְשְׁב֣וֹת the thoughts maḥ·šə·ḇō·wṯ רָ֑ע of the wicked , rā‘ אִמְרֵי־ but the words ’im·rê- וּ֝טְהֹרִ֗ים of the pure ū·ṭə·hō·rîm נֹֽעַם׃ are pleasant [to Him] . nō·‘am Proverbs 15:27 בּוֹצֵ֣עַ He who is greedy bō·w·ṣê·a‘ בָּ֑צַע for unjust gain bā·ṣa‘ עֹכֵ֣ר brings trouble ‘ō·ḵêr בֵּ֭יתוֹ on his household , bê·ṯōw וְשׂוֹנֵ֖א but he who hates wə·śō·w·nê מַתָּנֹ֣ת bribes mat·tā·nōṯ יִחְיֶֽה׃ will live . yiḥ·yeh Proverbs 15:28 לֵ֣ב The heart lêḇ צַ֭דִּיק of the righteous ṣad·dîq יֶהְגֶּ֣ה ponders yeh·geh לַעֲנ֑וֹת how to answer , la·‘ă·nō·wṯ וּפִ֥י but the mouth ū·p̄î רְ֝שָׁעִ֗ים of the wicked rə·šā·‘îm יַבִּ֥יעַ blurts out yab·bî·a‘ רָעֽוֹת׃ evil . rā·‘ō·wṯ Proverbs 15:29 יְ֭הוָה YHWH Yah·weh רָח֣וֹק is far rā·ḥō·wq
