יָשִׁ֣יב turns away yā·šîḇ חֵמָ֑ה wrath , ḥê·māh עֶ֝֗צֶב but a harsh ‘e·ṣeḇ וּדְבַר־ word ū·ḏə·ḇar- יַעֲלֶה־ stirs up ya·‘ă·leh- אָֽף׃ anger . ’āp̄ Proverbs 15:2 לְשׁ֣וֹן The tongue lə·šō·wn חֲ֭כָמִים of the wise ḥă·ḵā·mîm תֵּיטִ֣יב commends tê·ṭîḇ דָּ֑עַת knowledge , dā·‘aṯ וּפִ֥י but the mouth ū·p̄î כְ֝סִילִ֗ים of the fool ḵə·sî·lîm יַבִּ֥יעַ spouts yab·bî·a‘ אִוֶּֽלֶת׃ folly . ’iw·we·leṯ Proverbs 15:3 עֵינֵ֣י The eyes ‘ê·nê יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh בְּֽכָל־ are in every bə·ḵāl מָ֭קוֹם place , mā·qō·wm צֹ֝פ֗וֹת observing ṣō·p̄ō·wṯ רָעִ֥ים the evil rā·‘îm וטוֹבִֽים׃ and the good . w·ṭō·ḇīm Proverbs 15:4 מַרְפֵּ֣א A soothing mar·pê לָ֭שׁוֹן tongue lā·šō·wn עֵ֣ץ is a tree ‘êṣ חַיִּ֑ים of life , ḥay·yîm וְסֶ֥לֶף but a perverse wə·se·lep̄ בָּ֝֗הּ [tongue] bāh שֶׁ֣בֶר crushes še·ḇer בְּרֽוּחַ׃ the spirit . bə·rū·aḥ Proverbs 15:5 אֱוִ֗יל A fool ’ĕ·wîl יִ֭נְאַץ rejects yin·’aṣ אָבִ֑יו his father’s ’ā·ḇîw מוּסַ֣ר discipline , mū·sar וְשֹׁמֵ֖ר but whoever heeds wə·šō·mêr תּוֹכַ֣חַת correction tō·w·ḵa·ḥaṯ יַעְרִֽם׃ is prudent . ya‘·rim Proverbs 15:6 בֵּ֣ית The house bêṯ צַ֭דִּיק of the righteous ṣad·dîq רָ֑ב has great rāḇ חֹ֣סֶן treasure , ḥō·sen וּבִתְבוּאַ֖ת but the income ū·ḇiṯ·ḇū·’aṯ רָשָׁ֣ע of the wicked rā·šā‘ נֶעְכָּֽרֶת׃ is trouble . ne‘·kā·reṯ Proverbs 15:7 שִׂפְתֵ֣י The lips śip̄·ṯê חֲ֭כָמִים of the wise ḥă·ḵā·mîm יְזָ֣רוּ spread yə·zā·rū דָ֑עַת knowledge , ḏā·‘aṯ לֹא־ but not lō- כֵֽן׃ so ḵên וְלֵ֖ב the hearts wə·lêḇ כְּסִילִ֣ים of fools . kə·sî·lîm Proverbs 15:8 זֶ֣בַח The sacrifice ze·ḇaḥ רְ֭שָׁעִים of the wicked rə·šā·‘îm תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת is detestable tō·w·‘ă·ḇaṯ יְהוָ֑ה to YHWH , Yah·weh וּתְפִלַּ֖ת but the prayer ū·ṯə·p̄il·laṯ יְשָׁרִ֣ים of the upright yə·šā·rîm רְצוֹנֽוֹ׃ is His delight . rə·ṣō·w·nōw Proverbs 15:9 יְ֭הוָה YHWH Yah·weh תּוֹעֲבַ֣ת detests tō·w·‘ă·ḇaṯ דֶּ֣רֶךְ the way de·reḵ רָשָׁ֑ע of the wicked , rā·šā‘ יֶאֱהָֽב׃ but He loves ye·’ĕ·hāḇ וּמְרַדֵּ֖ף those who pursue ū·mə·rad·dêp̄ צְדָקָ֣ה righteousness . ṣə·ḏā·qāh Proverbs 15:10 מוּסָ֣ר Discipline mū·sār רָ֭ע is harsh rā‘ לְעֹזֵ֣ב for him who leaves lə·‘ō·zêḇ אֹ֑רַח the path ; ’ō·raḥ שׂוֹנֵ֖א he who hates śō·w·nê תוֹכַ֣חַת correction ṯō·w·ḵa·ḥaṯ יָמֽוּת׃ will die . yā·mūṯ
