וָאָ֑יִן and [finds] none , wā·’ā·yin וְדַ֖עַת but knowledge wə·ḏa·‘aṯ נָקָֽל׃ comes easily nā·qāl לְנָב֣וֹן to the discerning . lə·nā·ḇō·wn Proverbs 14:7 לֵ֣ךְ Stay away lêḵ מִ֭נֶּגֶד from min·ne·ḡeḏ כְּסִ֑יל a foolish kə·sîl לְאִ֣ישׁ man ; lə·’îš יָ֝דַ֗עְתָּ you will gain yā·ḏa‘·tā וּבַל־ no ū·ḇal- דָֽעַת׃ knowledge ḏā·‘aṯ שִׂפְתֵי־ from his speech . śip̄·ṯê- Proverbs 14:8 חָכְמַ֣ת The wisdom ḥā·ḵə·maṯ עָ֭רוּם of the prudent ‘ā·rūm הָבִ֣ין is to discern hā·ḇîn דַּרְכּ֑וֹ his way , dar·kōw וְאִוֶּ֖לֶת but the folly wə·’iw·we·leṯ כְּסִילִ֣ים of fools kə·sî·lîm מִרְמָֽה׃ deceives them . mir·māh Proverbs 14:9 אֱ֭וִלִים Fools ’ĕ·wi·lîm יָלִ֣יץ mock yā·lîṣ אָשָׁ֑ם the making of amends , ’ā·šām רָצֽוֹן׃ but goodwill is found rā·ṣō·wn וּבֵ֖ין among ū·ḇên יְשָׁרִ֣ים the upright . yə·šā·rîm Proverbs 14:10 לֵ֗ב The heart lêḇ י֭וֹדֵעַ knows yō·w·ḏê·a‘ נַפְשׁ֑וֹ its own nap̄·šōw מָרַּ֣ת bitterness , mār·raṯ לֹא־ and no lō- זָֽר׃ stranger zār יִתְעָ֥רַב shares yiṯ·‘ā·raḇ וּ֝בְשִׂמְחָת֗וֹ in its joy . ū·ḇə·śim·ḥā·ṯōw Proverbs 14:11 בֵּ֣ית The house bêṯ רְ֭שָׁעִים of the wicked rə·šā·‘îm יִשָּׁמֵ֑ד will be destroyed , yiš·šā·mêḏ וְאֹ֖הֶל but the tent wə·’ō·hel יְשָׁרִ֣ים of the upright yə·šā·rîm יַפְרִֽיחַ׃ will flourish . yap̄·rî·aḥ Proverbs 14:12 יֵ֤שׁ There is yêš דֶּ֣רֶךְ a way de·reḵ יָ֭שָׁר that seems right yā·šār לִפְנֵי־ to lip̄·nê- אִ֑ישׁ a man , ’îš וְ֝אַחֲרִיתָ֗הּ but its end wə·’a·ḥă·rî·ṯāh דַּרְכֵי־ is the way dar·ḵê- מָֽוֶת׃ of death . mā·weṯ Proverbs 14:13 גַּם־ Even gam- בִּשְׂח֥וֹק in laughter biś·ḥō·wq לֵ֑ב the heart lêḇ יִכְאַב־ may ache , yiḵ·’aḇ- שִׂמְחָ֣ה and joy śim·ḥāh וְאַחֲרִיתָ֖הּ may end wə·ʾa·ḥă·rī·ṯå̄h תוּגָֽה׃ in sorrow . ṯū·ḡāh Proverbs 14:14 ס֣וּג The backslider sūḡ לֵ֑ב in heart lêḇ יִ֭שְׂבַּע receives the fill yiś·ba‘ מִדְּרָכָ֣יו of his own ways , mid·də·rā·ḵāw טֽוֹב׃ but a good ṭō·wḇ אִ֣ישׁ man ’îš וּ֝מֵעָלָ֗יו [is rewarded] for his [ways] . ū·mê·‘ā·lāw Proverbs 14:15 פֶּ֭תִי The simple [man] pe·ṯî יַאֲמִ֣ין believes ya·’ă·mîn לְכָל־ every lə·ḵāl דָּבָ֑ר word , dā·ḇār וְ֝עָר֗וּם but the prudent man wə·‘ā·rūm יָבִ֥ין watches yā·ḇîn לַאֲשֻׁרֽוֹ׃ his steps . la·’ă·šu·rōw Proverbs 14:16 חָכָ֣ם A wise [man] ḥā·ḵām יָ֭רֵא fears yā·rê
