Psalm 123:1 שִׁ֗יר A song šîr הַֽמַּ֫עֲל֥וֹת of ascents . ham·ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ נָשָׂ֣אתִי I lift up nā·śā·ṯî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֵינַ֑י my eyes ‘ê·nay אֵ֭לֶיךָ to You , ’ê·le·ḵā הַ֝יֹּשְׁבִ֗י the One enthroned hay·yō·šə·ḇî בַּשָּׁמָֽיִם׃ in heaven . baš·šā·mā·yim Psalm 123:2 הִנֵּ֨ה - hin·nêh כְעֵינֵ֪י As the eyes ḵə·‘ê·nê עֲבָדִ֡ים of servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏîm אֶל־ [look] to ’el- יַ֤ד the hand yaḏ אֲ of their master , ’ăḏō·w·nê·hem כְּעֵינֵ֣י as the eyes kə·‘ê·nê שִׁפְחָה֮ of a maidservant šip̄·ḥāh אֶל־ [look] to ’el- יַ֪ד the hand yaḏ גְּבִ֫רְתָּ֥הּ of her mistress , gə·ḇir·tāh כֵּ֣ן so kên עֵ֭ינֵינוּ our eyes ‘ê·nê·nū אֶל־ are on ’el- יְהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵ֑ינוּ our God ’ĕ·lō·hê·nū עַ֝֗ד until ‘aḏ שֶׁיְּחָנֵּֽנוּ׃ He shows us mercy . še·yə·ḥān·nê·nū Psalm 123:3 חָנֵּ֣נוּ Have mercy on us , ḥān·nê·nū יְהוָ֣ה O YHWH , Yah·weh חָנֵּ֑נוּ have mercy , ḥān·nê·nū כִּֽי־ for kî- שָׂבַ֥עְנוּ we have endured śā·ḇa‘·nū רַ֝֗ב much raḇ בֽוּז׃ contempt . ḇūz Psalm 123:4 נַ֫פְשֵׁ֥נוּ We nap̄·šê·nū שָֽׂבְעָה־ have endured śā·ḇə·‘āh- לָּ֪הּ lāh רַבַּת֮ much rab·baṯ הַלַּ֥עַג scorn hal·la·‘aḡ הַשַּׁאֲנַנִּ֑ים from the arrogant , haš·ša·’ă·nan·nîm הַ֝בּ֗וּז much contempt hab·būz לִגְאֵ֥יוֹנִֽים׃ from the proud . liḡ·ʾē·yō·nīm Psalm 124:1 שִׁ֥יר A song šîr הַֽמַּעֲל֗וֹת of ascents . ham·ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ לְדָ֫וִ֥ד Of David . lə·ḏā·wiḏ יְ֭הוָה If YHWH Yah·weh לוּלֵ֣י had not lū·lê שֶׁהָ֣יָה been še·hā·yāh לָ֑נוּ on our side — lā·nū יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ let Israel yiś·rā·’êl נָ֝א now nā יֹֽאמַר־ declare — yō·mar- Psalm 124:2 יְ֭הוָה if YHWH Yah·weh לוּלֵ֣י had not lū·lê שֶׁהָ֣יָה been še·hā·yāh לָ֑נוּ on our side lā·nū אָדָֽם׃ when men ’ā·ḏām בְּק֖וּם attacked bə·qūm עָלֵ֣ינוּ us , ‘ā·lê·nū Psalm 124:3 אַפָּ֣ם when their anger ’ap·pām בַּחֲר֖וֹת flared ba·ḥă·rō·wṯ בָּֽנוּ׃ against us , bā·nū אֲ֭זַי then ’ă·zay בְּלָע֑וּנוּ they would have swallowed us bə·lā·‘ū·nū חַיִּ֣ים alive , ḥay·yîm Psalm 124:4 אֲ֭זַי then ’ă·zay הַמַּ֣יִם the floods ham·ma·yim שְׁטָפ֑וּנוּ would have engulfed us , šə·ṭā·p̄ū·nū נַ֗֜חְלָה [then] the torrent naḥ·lå̄h עָבַ֥ר would have overwhelmed ‘ā·ḇar עַל־ . . . ‘al- נַפְשֵֽׁנוּ׃ us , nap̄·šê·nū Psalm 124:5 אֲ֭זַי then ’ă·zay הַזֵּֽידוֹנִֽים׃ the raging haz·zê·ḏō·w·nîm הַ֝מַּ֗יִם waters ham·ma·yim עָבַ֣ר would have swept us away ‘ā·ḇar עַל־ . . . ‘al-
