אֶ֪לֶף a thousand ’e·lep̄ שָׁנִ֡ים years šā·nîm כְּי֣וֹם are but kə·yō·wm אֶ֭תְמוֹל a day ’eṯ·mō·wl כִּ֣י that kî יַעֲבֹ֑ר passes , ya·‘ă·ḇōr וְאַשְׁמוּרָ֥ה or a watch wə·’aš·mū·rāh בַלָּֽיְלָה׃ of the night . ḇal·lā·yə·lāh Psalm 90:5 זְ֭רַמְתָּם You whisk them away zə·ram·tām שֵׁנָ֣ה in their sleep ; šê·nāh יִהְי֑וּ they are yih·yū כֶּחָצִ֥יר like the new grass ke·ḥā·ṣîr יַחֲלֹֽף׃ . . . ya·ḥă·lōp̄ בַּ֝בֹּ֗קֶר of the morning — bab·bō·qer Psalm 90:6 בַּ֭בֹּקֶר in the morning bab·bō·qer יָצִ֣יץ it springs up yā·ṣîṣ וְחָלָ֑ף new , wə·ḥā·lāp̄ לָ֝עֶ֗רֶב [but] by evening lā·‘e·reḇ יְמוֹלֵ֥ל it fades yə·mō·w·lêl וְיָבֵֽשׁ׃ and withers . wə·yā·ḇêš Psalm 90:7 כִּֽי־ For kî- כָלִ֥ינוּ we are consumed ḵā·lî·nū בְאַפֶּ֑ךָ by Your anger ḇə·’ap·pe·ḵā נִבְהָֽלְנוּ׃ and terrified niḇ·hā·lə·nū וּֽבַחֲמָתְךָ֥ by Your wrath . ū·ḇa·ḥă·mā·ṯə·ḵā Psalm 90:8 שַׁתָּ You have set ša·tå̄ עֲוֺנֹתֵ֣ינוּ our iniquities ‘ă·wō·nō·ṯê·nū לְנֶגְדֶּ֑ךָ before You , lə·neḡ·de·ḵā עֲ֝לֻמֵ֗נוּ our secret [sins] ‘ă·lu·mê·nū לִמְא֥וֹר in the light lim·’ō·wr פָּנֶֽיךָ׃ of Your presence . pā·ne·ḵā Psalm 90:9 כִּ֣י For kî כָל־ all ḵāl יָ֭מֵינוּ our days yā·mê·nū פָּנ֣וּ decline pā·nū בְעֶבְרָתֶ֑ךָ in Your fury ; ḇə·‘eḇ·rā·ṯe·ḵā כִּלִּ֖ינוּ we finish kil·lî·nū שָׁנֵ֣ינוּ our years šā·nê·nū כְמוֹ־ with ḵə·mōw- הֶֽגֶה׃ a sigh . he·ḡeh Psalm 90:10 יְמֵֽי־ The length of our days yə·mê- שְׁנוֹתֵ֨ינוּ . . . šə·nō·w·ṯê·nū בָהֶ֥ם ḇā·hem שִׁבְעִ֪ים is seventy šiḇ·‘îm שָׁנָ֡ה years — šā·nāh שְׁמ֘וֹנִ֤ים or eighty šə·mō·w·nîm שָׁנָ֗ה - šā·nāh וְאִ֤ם if we are strong wə·’im בִּגְבוּרֹ֨ת׀ . . . — biḡ·ḇū·rōṯ וְ֭רָהְבָּם yet their pride wə·rā·hə·bām עָמָ֣ל is but labor ‘ā·māl וָאָ֑וֶן and sorrow , wā·’ā·wen כִּי־ for kî- חִ֝֗ישׁ they quickly ḥîš גָ֥ז pass , ḡāz וַנָּעֻֽפָה׃ and we fly away . wan·nā·‘u·p̄āh Psalm 90:11 מִֽי־ Who mî- י֭וֹדֵעַ knows yō·w·ḏê·a‘ עֹ֣ז the power ‘ōz אַפֶּ֑ךָ of Your anger ? ’ap·pe·ḵā עֶבְרָתֶֽךָ׃ Your wrath ‘eḇ·rā·ṯe·ḵā וּ֝כְיִרְאָתְךָ֗ matches the fear You are due . ū·ḵə·yir·’ā·ṯə·ḵā Psalm 90:12 כֵּ֣ן So kên הוֹדַ֑ע teach us hō·w·ḏa‘ לִמְנ֣וֹת to number lim·nō·wṯ יָ֭מֵינוּ our days , yā·mê·nū וְ֝נָבִ֗א that we may present wə·nā·ḇi לְבַ֣ב a heart lə·ḇaḇ חָכְמָֽה׃ of wisdom . ḥāḵ·māh Psalm 90:13 שׁוּבָ֣ה Return , šū·ḇāh יְ֭הוָה O YHWH !
