יוֹסֵ֛ף Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ וַיֹּ֧אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ - ’el- אָבִ֖יו - . ’ā·ḇîw כִּי־ “ - kî- זֶ֣ה This zeh הַבְּכֹ֔ר one is the firstborn ; hab·bə·ḵōr שִׂ֥ים put śîm יְמִינְךָ֖ your right hand yə·mî·nə·ḵā עַל־ on ‘al- רֹאשֽׁוֹ׃ his head . ” rō·šōw Genesis 48:19 אָבִ֗יו But his father ’ā·ḇîw וַיְמָאֵ֣ן refused . way·mā·’ên יָדַ֤עְתִּֽי “ I know , yā·ḏa‘·tî בְנִי֙ my son , ḇə·nî יָדַ֔עְתִּי I know ! ” yā·ḏa‘·tî וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ he said . way·yō·mer ה֥וּא “ He hū גַּם־ too gam- יִֽהְיֶה־ shall become yih·yeh- לְּעָ֖ם a people , lə·‘ām ה֣וּא and he hū וְגַם־ too wə·ḡam- יִגְדָּ֑ל shall be great ; yiḡ·dāl וְאוּלָ֗ם nevertheless , wə·’ū·lām הַקָּטֹן֙ his younger haq·qā·ṭōn אָחִ֤יו brother ’ā·ḥîw יִגְדַּ֣ל shall be greater yiḡ·dal מִמֶּ֔נּוּ than he , mim·men·nū וְזַרְע֖וֹ and his offspring wə·zar·‘ōw יִהְיֶ֥ה shall become yih·yeh מְלֹֽא־ a multitude mə·lō- הַגּוֹיִֽם׃ of nations . ” hag·gō·w·yim Genesis 48:20 בַּיּ֣וֹם So that day bay·yō·wm וַיְבָ֨רֲכֵ֜ם [Jacob] blessed way·ḇā·ră·ḵêm הַהוּא֮ them ha·hū לֵאמֹ֔ר and said : lê·mōr בְּךָ֗ “ By you bə·ḵā יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ shall Israel yiś·rā·’êl לֵאמוֹר֒ pronounce lê·mō·wr יְבָרֵ֤ךְ this blessing : yə·ḇā·rêḵ אֱלֹהִ֔ים ‘ May God ’ĕ·lō·hîm יְשִֽׂמְךָ֣ make yə·śim·ḵā כְּאֶפְרַ֖יִם you like Ephraim kə·’ep̄·ra·yim וְכִמְנַשֶּׁ֑ה and Manasseh . ’” wə·ḵim·naš·šeh וַיָּ֥שֶׂם So he put way·yā·śem אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֶפְרַ֖יִם Ephraim ’ep̄·ra·yim לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê מְנַשֶּֽׁה׃ Manasseh . mə·naš·šeh Genesis 48:21 יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ Then Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיֹּ֤אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- יוֹסֵ֔ף Joseph , yō·w·sêp̄ הִנֵּ֥ה “ Look , hin·nêh אָנֹכִ֖י I ’ā·nō·ḵî מֵ֑ת am about to die , mêṯ אֱלֹהִים֙ but God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וְהָיָ֤ה will be wə·hā·yāh עִמָּכֶ֔ם with you ‘im·mā·ḵem וְהֵשִׁ֣יב and bring wə·hê·šîḇ אֶתְכֶ֔ם you ’eṯ·ḵem אֶל־ back to ’el- אֶ֖רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ אֲבֹתֵיכֶֽם׃ of your fathers . ’ă·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem Genesis 48:22 לְךָ֛ And to you , lə·ḵā עַל־ as one who is above ‘al- אַחֶ֑יךָ your brothers , ’a·ḥe·ḵā וַאֲנִ֞י I wa·’ă·nî נָתַ֧תִּֽי give nā·ṯat·tî אַחַ֖ד the ’a·ḥaḏ שְׁכֶ֥ם ridge of land šə·ḵem אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ’ă·šer לָקַ֙חְתִּי֙ I took lā·qaḥ·tî מִיַּ֣ד from mî·yaḏ הָֽאֱמֹרִ֔י the Amorites hā·’ĕ·mō·rî בְּחַרְבִּ֖י with my sword bə·ḥar·bî וּבְקַשְׁתִּֽי׃פ and bow . ” ū·ḇə·qaš·tî Genesis 49:1 יַעֲקֹ֖ב Then Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ אֶל־ . . . ’el- וַיִּקְרָ֥א called for way·yiq·rā בָּנָ֑יו his sons bā·nāw וַיֹּ֗אמֶר and said , way·yō·mer הֵאָֽסְפוּ֙ “ Gather around hê·’ā·sə·p̄ū וְאַגִּ֣ידָה so that I can tell wə·’ag·gî·ḏāh
