אֶחָיו֙ his brothers ’e·ḥāw וְאֶל־ and to wə·’el- אָבִ֔יו his father’s ’ā·ḇîw בֵּ֣ית household , bêṯ אֶעֱלֶ֖ה “ I will go up ’e·‘ĕ·leh וְאַגִּ֣ידָה and inform wə·’ag·gî·ḏāh לְפַרְעֹ֑ה Pharaoh lə·p̄ar·‘ōh וְאֹֽמְרָ֣ה - wə·’ō·mə·rāh אֵלָ֔יו : ’ê·lāw אַחַ֧י ‘ My brothers ’a·ḥay אָבִ֛י and my father’s ’ā·ḇî וּבֵית־ household ū·ḇêṯ- אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer בְּאֶֽרֶץ־ from the land bə·’e·reṣ- כְּנַ֖עַן of Canaan kə·na·‘an בָּ֥אוּ have come bā·’ū אֵלָֽי׃ to me . ’ê·lāy Genesis 46:32 וְהָאֲנָשִׁים֙ The men wə·hā·’ă·nā·šîm רֹ֣עֵי are shepherds rō·‘ê צֹ֔אן . . . ; ṣōn כִּֽי־ - kî- אַנְשֵׁ֥י - ’an·šê מִקְנֶ֖ה they raise livestock , miq·neh הָי֑וּ . . . hā·yū הֵבִֽיאוּ׃ and they have brought hê·ḇî·’ū וְצֹאנָ֧ם their flocks wə·ṣō·nām וּבְקָרָ֛ם and herds ū·ḇə·qā·rām וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer לָהֶ֖ם they own . ’ lā·hem Genesis 46:33 וְהָיָ֕ה - wə·hā·yāh כִּֽי־ When kî- פַּרְעֹ֑ה Pharaoh par·‘ōh יִקְרָ֥א summons yiq·rā לָכֶ֖ם you lā·ḵem וְאָמַ֖ר and asks , wə·’ā·mar מַה־ ‘ What mah- מַּעֲשֵׂיכֶֽם׃ is your occupation ? ’ ma·‘ă·śê·ḵem Genesis 46:34 וַאֲמַרְתֶּ֗ם you are to say , wa·’ă·mar·tem עֲבָדֶ֙יךָ֙ ‘ Your servants ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā אַנְשֵׁ֨י . . . ’an·šê מִקְנֶ֜ה have raised livestock miq·neh הָי֤וּ . . . hā·yū מִנְּעוּרֵ֣ינוּ ever since our youth min·nə·‘ū·rê·nū וְעַד־ . . . wə·‘aḏ- עַ֔תָּה . . . — ‘at·tāh גַּם־ both gam- אֲנַ֖חְנוּ we ’ă·naḥ·nū גַּם־ and gam- אֲבֹתֵ֑ינוּ our fathers . ’ ’ă·ḇō·ṯê·nū בַּעֲב֗וּר Then ba·‘ă·ḇūr תֵּשְׁבוּ֙ you will be allowed to settle tê·šə·ḇū בְּאֶ֣רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ גֹּ֔שֶׁן of Goshen , gō·šen כִּֽי־ since kî- כָּל־ all kāl- רֹ֥עֵה shepherds rō·‘êh צֹֽאן׃ . . . ṣōn תוֹעֲבַ֥ת are detestable ṯō·w·‘ă·ḇaṯ מִצְרַ֖יִם to the Egyptians . ” miṣ·ra·yim Genesis 47:1 יוֹסֵף֮ So Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ וַיָּבֹ֣א went way·yā·ḇō וַיַּגֵּ֣ד and told way·yag·gêḏ לְפַרְעֹה֒ Pharaoh lə·p̄ar·‘ōh וַיֹּ֗אמֶר . . . : way·yō·mer אָבִ֨י “ My father ’ā·ḇî וְאַחַ֜י and my brothers , wə·’a·ḥay וְצֹאנָ֤ם with their flocks wə·ṣō·nām וּבְקָרָם֙ and herds ū·ḇə·qā·rām וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl אֲשֶׁ֣ר they own ’ă·šer לָהֶ֔ם , lā·hem בָּ֖אוּ have come bā·’ū מֵאֶ֣רֶץ from the land mê·’e·reṣ כְּנָ֑עַן of Canaan kə·nā·‘an וְהִנָּ֖ם and are now wə·hin·nām בְּאֶ֥רֶץ vvv bə·’e·reṣ גֹּֽשֶׁן׃ in Goshen . ” gō·šen Genesis 47:2 וּמִקְצֵ֣ה - ū·miq·ṣêh לָקַ֖ח And he chose lā·qaḥ חֲמִשָּׁ֣ה five ḥă·miš·šāh אֲנָשִׁ֑ים of ’ă·nā·šîm אֶחָ֔יו his brothers ’e·ḥāw וַיַּצִּגֵ֖ם and presented them way·yaṣ·ṣi·ḡêm לִפְנֵ֥י before lip̄·nê
