וַיַּגִּ֨דוּ they said way·yag·gi·ḏū ל֜וֹ lōw לֵאמֹ֗ר - , lê·mōr וְכִֽי־ “ and wə·ḵî- ה֥וּא he hū מֹשֵׁ֖ל is ruler mō·šêl בְּכָל־ over all bə·ḵāl אֶ֣רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ מִצְרָ֑יִם of Egypt ! ” miṣ·rā·yim וַיָּ֣פָג But Jacob was stunned way·yā·p̄āḡ לִבּ֔וֹ . . . , lib·bōw כִּ֥י for kî לֹא־ he did not lō- הֶאֱמִ֖ין believe he·’ĕ·mîn לָהֶֽם׃ them . lā·hem Genesis 45:27 וַיְדַבְּר֣וּ However, when they relayed way·ḏab·bə·rū אֵלָ֗יו ’ê·lāw אֵ֣ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- דִּבְרֵ֤י . . . diḇ·rê אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer יוֹסֵף֙ Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ דִּבֶּ֣ר had told dib·ber אֲלֵהֶ֔ם them , ’ă·lê·hem וַיַּרְא֙ and when he saw way·yar אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הָ֣עֲגָל֔וֹת the wagons hā·‘ă·ḡā·lō·wṯ אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- יוֹסֵ֖ף Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ שָׁלַ֥ח had sent šā·laḥ לָשֵׂ֣את to carry him lā·śêṯ אֹת֑וֹ back , ’ō·ṯōw ר֖וּחַ the spirit rū·aḥ אֲבִיהֶֽם׃ of their father ’ă·ḇî·hem יַעֲקֹ֥ב Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ וַתְּחִ֕י was revived . wat·tə·ḥî Genesis 45:28 רַ֛ב “ Enough ! ” raḇ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ declared way·yō·mer יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel . yiś·rā·’êl בְּנִ֖י “ My son bə·nî יוֹסֵ֥ף Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ עוֹד־ is still ‘ō·wḏ- חָ֑י alive ! ḥāy אֵֽלְכָ֥ה I will go ’ê·lə·ḵāh וְאֶרְאֶ֖נּוּ to see him wə·’er·’en·nū בְּטֶ֥רֶם before bə·ṭe·rem אָמֽוּת׃ I die . ” ’ā·mūṯ Genesis 46:1 יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ So Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּסַּ֤ע set out way·yis·sa‘ וְכָל־ with all wə·ḵāl אֲשֶׁר־ that ’ă·šer- ל֔וֹ he had , lōw וַיָּבֹ֖א and when he came way·yā·ḇō בְּאֵ֣רָה to bə·’ê·rāh שָּׁ֑בַע Beersheba , šā·ḇa‘ וַיִּזְבַּ֣ח he offered way·yiz·baḥ זְבָחִ֔ים sacrifices zə·ḇā·ḥîm לֵאלֹהֵ֖י to the God lê·lō·hê אָבִ֥יו of his father ’ā·ḇîw יִצְחָֽק׃ Isaac . yiṣ·ḥāq Genesis 46:2 הַלַּ֔יְלָה And that night hal·lay·lāh אֱלֹהִ֤ים׀ God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיֹּ֨אמֶר spoke way·yō·mer לְיִשְׂרָאֵל֙ to Israel lə·yiś·rā·’êl בְּמַרְאֹ֣ת in a vision : bə·mar·’ōṯ יַעֲקֹ֣ב׀ “ Jacob , ya·‘ă·qōḇ יַעֲקֹ֑ב Jacob ! ” ya·‘ă·qōḇ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר He said . way·yō·mer הִנֵּֽנִי׃ “ Here I am , ” hin·nê·nî וַיֹּ֖אמֶר replied Jacob . way·yō·mer Genesis 46:3 אָנֹכִ֥י “ I ’ā·nō·ḵî הָאֵ֖ל am God , ” hā·’êl וַיֹּ֕אמֶר He said , way·yō·mer אֱלֹהֵ֣י “ the God ’ĕ·lō·hê אָבִ֑יךָ of your father . ’ā·ḇî·ḵā אַל־ Do not ’al- תִּירָא֙ be afraid tî·rā מֵרְדָ֣ה to go down mê·rə·ḏāh מִצְרַ֔יְמָה to Egypt , miṣ·ray·māh כִּֽי־ for kî- אֲשִֽׂימְךָ֥ I will make ’ă·śî·mə·ḵā גָּד֖וֹל you into a great gā·ḏō·wl לְג֥וֹי nation lə·ḡō·w שָֽׁם׃ there . šām
