Job 5:13 לֹכֵ֣ד He catches lō·ḵêḏ חֲכָמִ֣ים the wise ḥă·ḵā·mîm בְּעָרְמָ֑ם in their craftiness , bə·‘ā·rə·mām נִמְהָֽרָה׃ and sweeps away nim·hā·rāh וַעֲצַ֖ת the plans wa·‘ă·ṣaṯ נִפְתָּלִ֣ים of the cunning . nip̄·tā·lîm Job 5:14 יְפַגְּשׁוּ־ They encounter yə·p̄ag·gə·šū- חֹ֑שֶׁךְ darkness ḥō·šeḵ יוֹמָ֥ם by day yō·w·mām יְֽמַשְׁשׁ֥וּ and grope yə·maš·šū בַֽצָּהֳרָֽיִם׃ at noon ḇaṣ·ṣā·ho·rā·yim וְ֝כַלַּ֗יְלָה as in the night . wə·ḵal·lay·lāh Job 5:15 וַיֹּ֣שַׁע He saves way·yō·ša‘ אֶבְיֽוֹן׃ the needy ’eḇ·yō·wn מֵ֭חֶרֶב from the sword mê·ḥe·reḇ מִפִּיהֶ֑ם in their mouth mip·pî·hem וּמִיַּ֖ד and from the clutches ū·mî·yaḏ חָזָ֣ק of the powerful . ḥā·zāq Job 5:16 לַדַּ֣ל So the poor lad·dal וַתְּהִ֣י have wat·tə·hî תִּקְוָ֑ה hope , tiq·wāh וְ֝עֹלָ֗תָה and injustice wə·‘ō·lā·ṯāh קָ֣פְצָה shuts qā·p̄ə·ṣāh פִּֽיהָ׃ its mouth . pî·hā Job 5:17 אַשְׁרֵ֣י Blessed ’aš·rê הִנֵּ֤ה indeed hin·nêh אֱ֭נוֹשׁ is the man ’ĕ·nō·wōš אֱל֑וֹהַּ [whom] God ’ĕ·lō·w·ah יוֹכִחֶ֣נּֽוּ corrects ; yō·w·ḵi·ḥen·nū אַל־ so do not ’al- תִּמְאָֽס׃ despise tim·’ās וּמוּסַ֥ר the discipline ū·mū·sar שַׁ֝דַּ֗י of the Almighty . day Job 5:18 כִּ֤י For kî ה֣וּא He hū יַכְאִ֣יב wounds , yaḵ·’îḇ וְיֶחְבָּ֑שׁ but He also binds ; wə·yeḥ·bāš יִ֝מְחַ֗ץ He strikes , yim·ḥaṣ וְיָדוֹ but His hands wə·yå̄·ḏō תִּרְפֶּֽינָה׃ also heal . tir·pe·nāh Job 5:19 יַצִּילֶ֑ךָּ He will rescue yaṣ·ṣî·le·kā בְּשֵׁ֣שׁ you from six bə·šêš צָ֭רוֹת calamities ; ṣā·rō·wṯ לֹא־ no lō- רָֽע׃ harm rā‘ יִגַּ֖ע will touch yig·ga‘ בְּךָ֣ you bə·ḵā וּבְשֶׁ֓בַע׀ in seven . ū·ḇə·še·ḇa‘ Job 5:20 בְּ֭רָעָב In famine bə·rā·‘āḇ פָּֽדְךָ֣ He will redeem you pā·ḏə·ḵā מִמָּ֑וֶת from death , mim·mā·weṯ וּ֝בְמִלְחָמָ֗ה and in battle ū·ḇə·mil·ḥā·māh מִ֣ידֵי from the stroke mî·ḏê חָֽרֶב׃ of the sword . ḥā·reḇ Job 5:21 תֵּחָבֵ֑א You will be hidden tê·ḥā·ḇê בְּשׁ֣וֹט from the scourge bə·šō·wṭ לָ֭שׁוֹן of the tongue , lā·šō·wn וְֽלֹא־ and will not wə·lō- תִירָ֥א fear ṯî·rā מִ֝שֹּׁ֗ד havoc miš·šōḏ כִּ֣י when kî יָבֽוֹא׃ it comes . yā·ḇō·w Job 5:22 תִּשְׂחָ֑ק You will laugh tiś·ḥāq לְשֹׁ֣ד at destruction lə·šōḏ וּלְכָפָ֣ן and famine , ū·lə·ḵā·p̄ān אַל־ and need not ’al- תִּירָֽא׃ fear tî·rā וּֽמֵחַיַּ֥ת the beasts ū·mê·ḥay·yaṯ הָ֝אָ֗רֶץ of the earth . hā·’ā·reṣ
