בְּשָׂרִֽי׃ on my body bə·śā·rî תְּ֝סַמֵּ֗ר bristled . tə·sam·mêr Job 4:16 יַעֲמֹ֤ד׀ It stood still , ya·‘ă·mōḏ וְֽלֹא־ but I could not wə·lō- אַכִּ֬יר discern ’ak·kîr מַרְאֵ֗הוּ its appearance ; mar·’ê·hū תְּ֭מוּנָה a form tə·mū·nāh לְנֶ֣גֶד loomed before lə·ne·ḡeḏ עֵינָ֑י my eyes , ‘ê·nāy אֶשְׁמָֽע׃ and I heard ’eš·mā‘ דְּמָמָ֖ה a whispering də·mā·māh וָק֣וֹל voice : wā·qō·wl Job 4:17 הַֽ֭אֱנוֹשׁ ‘ {Can} a mortal ha·’ĕ·nō·wōš יִצְדָּ֑ק be more righteous yiṣ·dāq מֵאֱל֣וֹהַ than God , mê·’ĕ·lō·w·ha אִ֥ם or ’im גָּֽבֶר׃ a man gā·ḇer יִטְהַר־ more pure yiṭ·har- מֵ֝עֹשֵׂ֗הוּ than his Maker ? mê·‘ō·śê·hū Job 4:18 הֵ֣ן If hên לֹ֣א God puts no lō יַאֲמִ֑ין trust ya·’ă·mîn בַּ֭עֲבָדָיו in His servants , ba·‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw יָשִׂ֥ים and He charges yā·śîm וּ֝בְמַלְאָכָ֗יו His angels ū·ḇə·mal·’ā·ḵāw תָּהֳלָֽה׃ with error , tā·ho·lāh Job 4:19 אַ֤ף׀ how much more ’ap̄ שֹׁכְנֵ֬י those who dwell šō·ḵə·nê בָֽתֵּי־ in houses ḇāt·tê- חֹ֗מֶר of clay , ḥō·mer אֲשֶׁר־ whose ’ă·šer- יְסוֹדָ֑ם foundations yə·sō·w·ḏām בֶּעָפָ֥ר are in the dust , be·‘ā·p̄ār יְ֝דַכְּא֗וּם who can be crushed yə·ḏak·kə·’ūm לִפְנֵי־ . . . lip̄·nê- עָֽשׁ׃ like a moth ! ‘āš Job 4:20 יֻכַּ֑תּוּ They are smashed to pieces yuk·kat·tū מִבֹּ֣קֶר from dawn mib·bō·qer לָעֶ֣רֶב to dusk ; lā·‘e·reḇ מִבְּלִ֥י unnoticed mib·bə·lî מֵ֝שִׂ֗ים . . . , mê·śîm יֹאבֵֽדוּ׃ they perish yō·ḇê·ḏū לָנֶ֥צַח forever . lā·ne·ṣaḥ Job 4:21 יִתְרָ֣ם Are not their tent cords yiṯ·rām בָּ֑ם bām הֲלֹא־ - hă·lō- נִסַּ֣ע pulled up , nis·sa‘ יָ֝מ֗וּתוּ so that they die yā·mū·ṯū וְלֹ֣א without wə·lō בְחָכְמָֽה׃ wisdom ? ’ [’’] ḇə·ḥā·ḵə·māh Job 5:1 קְֽרָא־ [“] Call out qə·rā- נָ֭א if you please , nā הֲיֵ֣שׁ vvv hă·yêš עוֹנֶ֑ךָּ but who will answer ? ‘ō·w·ne·kā וְאֶל־ To wə·’el- מִ֖י which mî מִקְּדֹשִׁ֣ים of the holy ones miq·qə·ḏō·šîm תִּפְנֶֽה׃ will you turn ? tip̄·neh Job 5:2 כִּֽי־ For kî- כָּ֑עַשׂ resentment kā·‘aś יַהֲרָג־ kills ya·hă·rāḡ- לֶֽ֭אֱוִיל a fool , le·’ĕ·wîl קִנְאָֽה׃ and envy qin·’āh תָּמִ֥ית slays tā·mîṯ וּ֝פֹתֶ֗ה the simple . ū·p̄ō·ṯeh Job 5:3 אֲ I ’ănî- רָ֭אִיתִי have seen rā·’î·ṯî אֱוִ֣יל a fool ’ĕ·wîl מַשְׁרִ֑ישׁ taking root , maš·rîš פִתְאֹֽם׃ but suddenly p̄iṯ·’ōm נָוֵ֣הוּ his house nā·wê·hū וָאֶקּ֖וֹב was cursed . wā·’eq·qō·wḇ
