אֶת־ - ’eṯ- קֹל֖וֹ - qō·lōw מִצְרַ֔יִם that the Egyptians miṣ·ra·yim וַיִּשְׁמְע֣וּ heard him , way·yiš·mə·‘ū פַּרְעֹֽה׃ and Pharaoh’s par·‘ōh בֵּ֥ית household bêṯ וַיִּשְׁמַ֖ע [soon] heard of it . way·yiš·ma‘ Genesis 45:3 יוֹסֵ֤ף Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- אֶחָיו֙ his brothers , ’e·ḥāw אֲנִ֣י “ I ’ă·nî יוֹסֵ֔ף am Joseph ! yō·w·sêp̄ אָבִ֖י Is my father ’ā·ḇî הַע֥וֹד still ha·‘ō·wḏ חָ֑י alive ? ” ḥāy אֶחָיו֙ But they ’e·ḥāw וְלֹֽא־ were unable wə·lō- יָכְל֤וּ . . . yā·ḵə·lū לַעֲנ֣וֹת to answer la·‘ă·nō·wṯ אֹת֔וֹ him , ’ō·ṯōw כִּ֥י because kî נִבְהֲל֖וּ they were terrified niḇ·hă·lū מִפָּנָֽיו׃ in his presence . mip·pā·nāw Genesis 45:4 יוֹסֵ֧ף Then Joseph yō·w·sêp̄ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer אֶל־ to ’el- אֶחָ֛יו his brothers , ’e·ḥāw נָ֥א “ Please nā אֵלַ֖י . . . ’ê·lay גְּשׁוּ־ come near me . ” gə·šū- וַיִּגָּ֑שׁוּ And they [did so] . way·yig·gā·šū אֲנִי֙ “ I ’ă·nî יוֹסֵ֣ף am Joseph , yō·w·sêp̄ אֲחִיכֶ֔ם your brother , ” ’ă·ḥî·ḵem וַיֹּ֗אמֶר he said , way·yō·mer אֲשֶׁר־ “ the one ’ă·šer- מְכַרְתֶּ֥ם you sold mə·ḵar·tem אֹתִ֖י - ’ō·ṯî מִצְרָֽיְמָה׃ into Egypt ! miṣ·rā·yə·māh Genesis 45:5 וְעַתָּ֣ה׀ And now , wə·‘at·tāh אַל־ do not ’al- תֵּעָ֣צְב֗וּ be distressed tê·‘ā·ṣə·ḇū וְאַל־ . . . wə·’al- יִ֙חַר֙ or angry yi·ḥar בְּעֵ֣ינֵיכֶ֔ם with yourselves bə·‘ê·nê·ḵem כִּֽי־ that kî- מְכַרְתֶּ֥ם you sold mə·ḵar·tem אֹתִ֖י me ’ō·ṯî הֵ֑נָּה into this place , hên·nāh כִּ֣י because kî לְמִֽחְיָ֔ה it was to save lives lə·miḥ·yāh אֱלֹהִ֖ים that God ’ĕ·lō·hîm שְׁלָחַ֥נִי sent me šə·lā·ḥa·nî לִפְנֵיכֶֽם׃ before you . lip̄·nê·ḵem Genesis 45:6 כִּי־ For kî- הָרָעָ֖ב the famine hā·rā·‘āḇ בְּקֶ֣רֶב has covered bə·qe·reḇ הָאָ֑רֶץ the land hā·’ā·reṣ זֶ֛ה these zeh שְׁנָתַ֥יִם two years , šə·nā·ṯa·yim חָמֵ֣שׁ and there will be five ḥā·mêš וְעוֹד֙ more wə·‘ō·wḏ שָׁנִ֔ים years šā·nîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer אֵין־ without ’ên- חָרִ֖ישׁ plowing ḥā·rîš וְקָצִּֽיר׃ or harvesting . wə·qå̄ṣ·ṣīr Genesis 45:7 אֱלֹהִים֙ God ’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיִּשְׁלָחֵ֤נִי sent me way·yiš·lā·ḥê·nî לִפְנֵיכֶ֔ם before you lip̄·nê·ḵem לָשׂ֥וּם to preserve lā·śūm לָכֶ֛ם you lā·ḵem שְׁאֵרִ֖ית as a remnant šə·’ê·rîṯ בָּאָ֑רֶץ on the earth bā·’ā·reṣ וּלְהַחֲי֣וֹת and to save your lives ū·lə·ha·ḥă·yō·wṯ לָכֶ֔ם . . . lā·ḵem גְּדֹלָֽה׃ by a great gə·ḏō·lāh לִפְלֵיטָ֖ה deliverance . lip̄·lê·ṭāh Genesis 45:8 וְעַתָּ֗ה Therefore wə·‘at·tāh לֹֽא־ it was not lō- אַתֶּ֞ם you ’at·tem
