מִכָּל־ more than all mik·kāl הַבְּתוּלֹ֑ת of the other virgins . hab·bə·ṯū·lōṯ וַיָּ֤שֶׂם So he placed way·yā·śem מַלְכוּת֙ the royal mal·ḵūṯ כֶּֽתֶר־ crown ke·ṯer- בְּרֹאשָׁ֔הּ upon her head bə·rō·šāh וַיַּמְלִיכֶ֖הָ and made her queen way·yam·lî·ḵe·hā תַּ֥חַת in place of ta·ḥaṯ וַשְׁתִּֽי׃ Vashti . waš·tî Esther 2:18 הַמֶּ֜לֶךְ Then the king ham·me·leḵ וַיַּ֨עַשׂ held way·ya·‘aś גָד֗וֹל a great ḡā·ḏō·wl מִשְׁתֶּ֣ה banquet , miš·teh אֶסְתֵּ֑ר Esther’s ’es·têr מִשְׁתֵּ֣ה banquet , miš·têh לְכָל־ for all lə·ḵāl שָׂרָיו֙ his officials śā·rāw וַעֲבָדָ֔יו and servants . wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ עָשָׂ֔ה He proclaimed ‘ā·śāh וַהֲנָחָ֤ה a tax holiday wa·hă·nā·ḥāh לַמְּדִינוֹת֙ in the provinces lam·mə·ḏî·nō·wṯ וַיִּתֵּ֥ן and gave way·yit·tên מַשְׂאֵ֖ת gifts maś·’êṯ הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ worthy of the king’s ham·me·leḵ כְּיַ֥ד bounty . kə·yaḏ Esther 2:19 בְּתוּל֖וֹת When the virgins bə·ṯū·lō·wṯ וּבְהִקָּבֵ֥ץ were assembled ū·ḇə·hiq·qā·ḇêṣ שֵׁנִ֑ית a second [time] , šê·nîṯ וּמָרְדֳּכַ֖י Mordecai ū·mā·rə·do·ḵay יֹשֵׁ֥ב was sitting yō·šêḇ הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ at the king’s ham·me·leḵ בְּשַֽׁעַר־ gate . bə·ša·‘ar- Esther 2:20 אֶסְתֵּ֗ר Esther ’es·têr אֵ֣ין still had not ’ên מַגֶּ֤דֶת revealed mag·ge·ḏeṯ מֽוֹלַדְתָּהּ֙ her lineage mō·w·laḏ·tāh וְאֶת־ wə·’eṯ- עַמָּ֔הּ or her people , ‘am·māh כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר just as ka·’ă·šer מָרְדֳּכָ֑י Mordecai mā·rə·do·ḵāy וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- צִוָּ֥ה had instructed . ṣiw·wāh עָלֶ֖יהָ . . . ‘ā·le·hā אֶסְתֵּ֣ר She ’es·têr עֹשָׂ֔ה obeyed ‘ō·śāh מָרְדֳּכַי֙ Mordecai’s mā·rə·do·ḵay מַאֲמַ֤ר command , ma·’ă·mar כַּאֲשֶׁ֛ר as ka·’ă·šer הָיְתָ֥ה she had done hā·yə·ṯāh בְאָמְנָ֖ה under his care ḇə·’ā·mə·nāh אִתּֽוֹ׃ס . . . . ’it·tōw Esther 2:21 הָהֵ֔ם In those hā·hêm בַּיָּמִ֣ים days , bay·yā·mîm וּמָרְדֳּכַ֖י while Mordecai ū·mā·rə·do·ḵay יֹשֵׁ֣ב was sitting yō·šêḇ הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ at the king’s ham·me·leḵ בְּשַֽׁעַר־ gate , bə·ša·‘ar- בִּגְתָ֨ן Bigthan biḡ·ṯān וָתֶ֜רֶשׁ and Teresh , wā·ṯe·reš שְׁנֵֽי־ two šə·nê- הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ of the king’s ham·me·leḵ סָרִיסֵ֤י eunuchs sā·rî·sê מִשֹּׁמְרֵ֣י who guarded miš·šō·mə·rê הַסַּ֔ף the entrance , has·sap̄ קָצַף֩ grew angry qā·ṣap̄ וַיְבַקְשׁוּ֙ and conspired way·ḇaq·šū לִשְׁלֹ֣חַ to assassinate liš·lō·aḥ יָ֔ד . . . yāḏ בַּמֶּ֖לֶךְ King bam·me·leḵ אֲחַשְׁוֵֽרֹשׁ׃ Xerxes . ’ă·ḥaš·wê·rōš Esther 2:22 לְמָרְדֳּכַ֔י When Mordecai lə·mā·rə·do·ḵay וַיִּוָּדַ֤ע learned way·yiw·wā·ḏa‘ הַדָּבָר֙ of the plot , had·dā·ḇār וַיַּגֵּ֖ד he reported way·yag·gêḏ הַמַּלְכָּ֑ה it to Queen ham·mal·kāh לְאֶסְתֵּ֣ר Esther , lə·’es·têr אֶסְתֵּ֛ר and she ’es·têr וַתֹּ֧אמֶר informed wat·tō·mer לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king lam·me·leḵ מָרְדֳּכָֽי׃ on Mordecai’s behalf mā·rə·do·ḵāy בְּשֵׁ֥ם . . . . bə·šêm
