אַנְשֵֽׁי־ the men ’an·šê- יְהוּדָה֩ of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וּבִנְיָמִ֨ן׀ and Benjamin ū·ḇin·yā·min וַיִּקָּבְצ֣וּ assembled way·yiq·qā·ḇə·ṣū יְרוּשָׁלִַ֜ם in Jerusalem , yə·rū·šā·lim ה֛וּא . . . hū בְּעֶשְׂרִ֣ים and on the twentieth day bə·‘eś·rîm בַּחֹ֑דֶשׁ . . . ba·ḥō·ḏeš הַתְּשִׁיעִ֖י of the ninth hat·tə·šî·‘î חֹ֥דֶשׁ month , ḥō·ḏeš כָל־ all ḵāl הָעָ֗ם the people hā·‘ām וַיֵּשְׁב֣וּ sat way·yê·šə·ḇū בִּרְחוֹב֙ in the square bir·ḥō·wḇ בֵּ֣ית at the house bêṯ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים of God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm מַרְעִידִ֥ים trembling mar·‘î·ḏîm עַל־ regarding ‘al- הַדָּבָ֖ר this matter had·dā·ḇār וּמֵהַגְּשָׁמִֽים׃פ and because of the heavy rain . ū·mê·hag·gə·šā·mîm Ezra 10:10 עֶזְרָ֤א Then Ezra ‘ez·rā הַכֹּהֵן֙ the priest hak·kō·hên וַיָּ֨קָם stood up way·yā·qām וַיֹּ֣אמֶר and said way·yō·mer אֲלֵהֶ֔ם to them , ’ă·lê·hem אַתֶּ֣ם “ You ’at·tem מְעַלְתֶּ֔ם have been unfaithful mə·‘al·tem וַתֹּשִׁ֖יבוּ by marrying wat·tō·šî·ḇū נָכְרִיּ֑וֹת foreign nā·ḵə·rî·yō·wṯ נָשִׁ֣ים women , nā·šîm לְהוֹסִ֖יף adding lə·hō·w·sîp̄ עַל־ to ‘al- אַשְׁמַ֥ת the guilt ’aš·maṯ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl Ezra 10:11 וְעַתָּ֗ה Now, therefore , wə·‘at·tāh תְּנ֥וּ make tə·nū תוֹדָ֛ה a confession ṯō·w·ḏāh לַיהוָ֥ה to YHWH , Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵֽי־ the God ’ĕ·lō·hê- אֲבֹתֵיכֶ֖ם of your fathers , ’ă·ḇō·ṯê·ḵem וַעֲשׂ֣וּ and do wa·‘ă·śū רְצוֹנ֑וֹ His will . rə·ṣō·w·nōw וְהִבָּֽדְלוּ֙ Separate wə·hib·bā·ḏə·lū וּמִן־ yourselves ū·min- מֵעַמֵּ֣י from the people mê·‘am·mê הָאָ֔רֶץ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ הַנָּכְרִיּֽוֹת׃ and from your foreign han·nā·ḵə·rî·yō·wṯ הַנָּשִׁ֖ים wives . ” han·nā·šîm Ezra 10:12 כָֽל־ And the whole ḵāl הַקָּהָ֛ל assembly haq·qā·hāl וַיֹּאמְר֖וּ . . . way·yō·mə·rū וַיַּֽעְנ֧וּ responded way·ya‘·nū גָּד֑וֹל in a loud gā·ḏō·wl ק֣וֹל voice : qō·wl כֵּ֛ן “ Truly kên לַעֲשֽׂוֹת׃ we must do la·‘ă·śō·wṯ כְּדִבְרֶיךָ as you say kə·ḏiḇ·rɛ·ḵå̄ עָלֵ֖ינוּ . . . ! ‘ā·lê·nū Ezra 10:13 אֲבָ֞ל But ’ă·ḇāl רָב֙ there are many rāḇ הָעָ֥ם people here , hā·‘ām גְּשָׁמִ֔ים and it is the rainy gə·šā·mîm וְהָעֵ֣ת season . wə·hā·‘êṯ וְאֵ֥ין We are not wə·’ên כֹּ֖חַ able kō·aḥ לַעֲמ֣וֹד to stay la·‘ă·mō·wḏ בַּח֑וּץ out in the open . ba·ḥūṣ לֹֽא־ Nor [is this] lō- וְהַמְּלָאכָ֗ה the work wə·ham·mə·lā·ḵāh אֶחָד֙ of one ’e·ḥāḏ וְלֹ֣א or wə·lō לִשְׁנַ֔יִם two liš·na·yim לְי֤וֹם days , lə·yō·wm כִּֽי־ for kî- לִפְשֹׁ֖עַ we have transgressed lip̄·šō·a‘ הִרְבִּ֥ינוּ greatly hir·bî·nū הַזֶּֽה׃ in this haz·zeh בַּדָּבָ֥ר matter . bad·dā·ḇār Ezra 10:14 שָׂ֠רֵינוּ Let our leaders rê·nū יַֽעֲמְדוּ־ represent ya·‘ăm·ḏū- נָ֣א . . . nā לְֽכָל־ the whole lə·ḵāl הַקָּהָ֞ל assembly . haq·qā·hāl וְכֹ֣ל׀ Then let everyone wə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer
