דִּ֗י . . . dî טַ֙עַם֙ is commanded ṭa·‘am מִן־ by min- אֱלָ֣הּ the God ’ĕ·lāh שְׁמַיָּ֔א of heaven šə·may·yā יִתְעֲבֵד֙ must be done yiṯ·‘ă·ḇêḏ אַדְרַזְדָּ֔א diligently ’aḏ·raz·dā לְבֵ֖ית for [His] house lə·ḇêṯ אֱלָ֣הּ . . . ’ĕ·lāh שְׁמַיָּ֑א . . . . šə·may·yā דִּֽי־ For dî- לְמָ֤ה why lə·māh קְצַ֔ף should wrath qə·ṣap̄ לֶֽהֱוֵא֙ fall le·hĕ·wê עַל־ on ‘al- מַלְכ֥וּת the realm mal·ḵūṯ מַלְכָּ֖א of the king mal·kā וּבְנֽוֹהִי׃ and his sons ? ū·ḇə·nō·w·hî Ezra 7:24 וּלְכֹ֣ם And ū·lə·ḵōm מְהוֹדְעִ֗ין be advised mə·hō·wḏ·‘în דִּ֣י that dî לָ֥א you have no lā שַׁלִּ֖יט authority šal·lîṭ לְמִרְמֵ֥א to impose lə·mir·mê מִנְדָּ֤ה tribute , min·dāh בְלוֹ֙ duty , ḇə·lōw וַהֲלָ֔ךְ or toll wa·hă·lāḵ עֲלֵיהֹֽם׃ on ‘ă·lê·hōm כָל־ any ḵāl כָּהֲנַיָּ֣א of the priests , kā·hă·nay·yā וְ֠לֵוָיֵא Levites , wə·lê·wā·yê זַמָּ֨רַיָּ֤א singers , zam·mā·ray·yā תָרָֽעַיָּא֙ doorkeepers , ṯā·rā·‘ay·yā נְתִ֣ינַיָּ֔א temple servants , nə·ṯî·nay·yā וּפָ֣לְחֵ֔י or other servants ū·p̄ā·lə·ḥê דְנָ֑ה of this ḏə·nāh בֵּ֖ית house bêṯ אֱלָהָ֣א of God . ’ĕ·lā·hā Ezra 7:25 וְאַ֣נְתְּ And you , wə·’ant עֶזְרָ֗א Ezra , ‘ez·rā כְּחָכְמַ֨ת according to the wisdom kə·ḥā·ḵə·maṯ אֱלָהָ֤ךְ of your God ’ĕ·lā·hāḵ דִּֽי־ which you possess dî- בִידָךְ֙ . . . , ḇî·ḏāḵ מֶ֣נִּי are to appoint men·nî שָׁפְטִ֞ין magistrates šā·p̄ə·ṭîn וְדַיָּנִ֗ין and judges wə·ḏay·yā·nîn דִּי־ dî- לֶהֱוֺ֤ן le·hĕ·wōn דָּאֲנִין to judge då̄·ʾă·nīn לְכָל־ all lə·ḵāl עַמָּה֙ the people ‘am·māh דִּ֚י . . . dî בַּעֲבַ֣ר west ba·‘ă·ḇar נַהֲרָ֔ה of the Euphrates — na·hă·rāh לְכָל־ all lə·ḵāl יָדְעֵ֖י who know yā·ḏə·‘ê דָּתֵ֣י the laws dā·ṯê אֱלָהָ֑ךְ of your God . ’ĕ·lā·hāḵ יָדַ֖ע And you are to teach [these laws] yā·ḏa‘ וְדִ֧י to anyone who wə·ḏî לָ֦א does not lā תְּהוֹדְעֽוּן׃ know them . tə·hō·wḏ·‘ūn Ezra 7:26 וְכָל־ If anyone wə·ḵāl דִּי־ . . . dî- לֶהֱוֵ֨א does le·hĕ·wê לָא֩ not lā עָבֵ֜ד keep ‘ā·ḇêḏ דָּתָ֣א the law dā·ṯā דִֽי־ of ḏî- אֱלָהָ֗ךְ your God ’ĕ·lā·hāḵ וְדָתָא֙ and the law wə·ḏā·ṯā דִּ֣י of dî מַלְכָּ֔א the king , mal·kā אָסְפַּ֕רְנָא let a strict ’ā·sə·par·nā דִּינָ֕ה judgment dî·nāh לֶהֱוֵ֥א be le·hĕ·wê מִתְעֲבֵ֖ד executed miṯ·‘ă·ḇêḏ מִנֵּ֑הּ against him , min·nêh הֵ֤ן whether hên לְמוֹת֙ death , lə·mō·wṯ הֵ֣ן . . . hên לִשְׁרֹשׁוּ banishment , liš·rō·šū הֵן־ . . . hên- לַעֲנָ֥שׁ confiscation la·‘ă·nāš נִכְסִ֖ין of property , niḵ·sîn וְלֶאֱסוּרִֽין׃פ or imprisonment . wə·le·’ĕ·sū·rîn Ezra 7:27 בָּר֥וּךְ Blessed [be] bā·rūḵ
