וְהַחֲצֹצְרוֹת֮ and trumpeters wə·ha·ḥă·ṣō·ṣə·rō·wṯ עַל־ were beside ‘al- הַמֶּלֶךְ֒ the king , ham·me·leḵ וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl עַ֨ם the people ‘am הָאָ֜רֶץ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ שָׂמֵ֗חַ were rejoicing śā·mê·aḥ וְתוֹקֵ֙עַ֙ and blowing wə·ṯō·w·qê·a‘ בַּחֲצֹ֣צְר֔וֹת trumpets , ba·ḥă·ṣō·ṣə·rō·wṯ וְהַמְשֽׁוֹרֲרִים֙ while the singers wə·ham·šō·w·ră·rîm הַשִּׁ֔יר with musical haš·šîr בִּכְלֵ֣י instruments biḵ·lê וּמוֹדִיעִ֖ים were leading ū·mō·w·ḏî·‘îm לְהַלֵּ֑ל the praises . lə·hal·lêl עֲתַלְיָ֙הוּ֙ Then Athaliah ‘ă·ṯal·yā·hū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַתִּקְרַ֤ע tore wat·tiq·ra‘ בְּגָדֶ֔יהָ her clothes bə·ḡā·ḏe·hā וַתֹּ֖אמֶר and screamed , wat·tō·mer קֶ֥שֶׁר “ Treason , qe·šer קָֽשֶׁר׃ס treason !” qā·šer 2 Chronicles 23:14 יְהוֹיָדָ֨ע And Jehoiada yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘ הַכֹּהֵ֜ן the priest hak·kō·hên אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיּוֹצֵא֩ sent out way·yō·w·ṣê שָׂרֵ֥י the commanders śā·rê הַמֵּא֣וֹת׀ of hundreds ham·mê·’ō·wṯ פְּקוּדֵ֣י in charge of pə·qū·ḏê הַחַ֗יִל the army , ha·ḥa·yil וַיֹּ֤אמֶר saying , way·yō·mer אֲלֵהֶם֙ . . . ’ă·lê·hem הֽוֹצִיא֙וּהָ֙ “ Bring her out hō·w·ṣî·’ū·hā אֶל־ . . . ’el- מִבֵּ֣ית between mib·bêṯ הַשְּׂדֵר֔וֹת the ranks , haś·śə·ḏê·rō·wṯ יוּמַ֣ת and put to yū·maṯ בֶּחָ֑רֶב the sword be·ḥā·reḇ וְהַבָּ֥א anyone who follows wə·hab·bā אַחֲרֶ֖יהָ her . ” ’a·ḥă·re·hā כִּ֚י For kî הַכֹּהֵ֔ן the priest hak·kō·hên אָמַ֣ר had said , ’ā·mar לֹ֥א “ She must not lō תְמִית֖וּהָ be put to death ṯə·mî·ṯū·hā בֵּ֥ית in the house bêṯ יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH . ” Yah·weh 2 Chronicles 23:15 וַיָּשִׂ֤ימוּ So they seized way·yā·śî·mū לָהּ֙ lāh יָדַ֔יִם [Athaliah] yā·ḏa·yim וַתָּב֛וֹא as she reached wat·tā·ḇō·w אֶל־ . . . ’el- מְב֥וֹא the entrance mə·ḇō·w הַסּוּסִ֖ים of the Horse has·sū·sîm שַֽׁעַר־ Gate ša·‘ar- הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ to the palace grounds ham·me·leḵ בֵּ֣ית . . . , bêṯ שָֽׁם׃פ and there šām וַיְמִית֖וּהָ they put her to death . way·mî·ṯū·hā 2 Chronicles 23:16 יְהוֹיָדָע֙ Then Jehoiada yə·hō·w·yā·ḏā‘ וַיִּכְרֹ֤ת made way·yiḵ·rōṯ בְּרִ֔ית a covenant bə·rîṯ בֵּינ֕וֹ between himself bê·nōw וּבֵ֥ין and ū·ḇên כָּל־ . . . kāl- הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ הָעָ֖ם and the people hā·‘ām וּבֵ֣ין . . . ū·ḇên לִהְי֥וֹת that they would be lih·yō·wṯ לַיהוָֽה׃ YHWH’s Yah·weh לְעָ֖ם people . lə·‘ām 2 Chronicles 23:17 כָל־ So all ḵāl הָעָ֤ם the people hā·‘ām וַיָּבֹ֨אוּ went way·yā·ḇō·’ū בֵּית־ to the temple bêṯ- הַבַּ֙עַל֙ of Baal hab·ba·‘al וַֽיִּתְּצֻ֔הוּ and tore it down . way·yit·tə·ṣu·hū וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- מִזְבְּחֹתָ֥יו They smashed the altars miz·bə·ḥō·ṯāw וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- צְלָמָ֖יו and idols ṣə·lā·māw שִׁבֵּ֑רוּ to pieces šib·bê·rū וְאֵ֗ת - wə·’êṯ הָרְג֖וּ and killed hā·rə·ḡū מַתָּן֙ Mattan mat·tān כֹּהֵ֣ן the priest kō·hên הַבַּ֔עַל of Baal hab·ba·‘al לִפְנֵ֥י in front of lip̄·nê הַֽמִּזְבְּחֽוֹת׃ the altars . ham·miz·bə·ḥō·wṯ
