אַחִ֞ים Jehoram’s brothers , ’a·ḥîm בְּנֵ֣י the sons bə·nê יְהוֹשָׁפָ֗ט of Jehoshaphat , yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ עֲזַרְיָ֤ה [were] Azariah , ‘ă·zar·yāh וִֽיחִיאֵל֙ Jehiel , wî·ḥî·’êl וּזְכַרְיָ֣הוּ Zechariah , ū·zə·ḵar·yā·hū וַעֲזַרְיָ֔הוּ Azariah , wa·‘ă·zar·yā·hū וּמִיכָאֵ֖ל Michael , ū·mî·ḵā·’êl וּשְׁפַטְיָ֑הוּ and Shephatiah ; ū·šə·p̄aṭ·yā·hū אֵ֕לֶּה these [were] ’êl·leh כָּל־ all kāl- בְּנֵ֥י sons bə·nê יְהוֹשָׁפָ֖ט of Jehoshaphat yə·hō·wō·šā·p̄āṭ מֶ֥לֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 2 Chronicles 21:3 אֲ֠בִיהֶם Their father ’ă·ḇî·hem וַיִּתֵּ֣ן had given them way·yit·tên לָהֶ֣ם׀ . . . lā·hem רַבּ֜וֹת many rab·bō·wṯ מַתָּנ֨וֹת gifts mat·tā·nō·wṯ לְכֶ֤סֶף of silver lə·ḵe·sep̄ וּלְזָהָב֙ and gold ū·lə·zā·hāḇ וּלְמִגְדָּנ֔וֹת and precious things , ū·lə·miḡ·dā·nō·wṯ עִם־ as well as ‘im- מְצֻר֖וֹת the fortified mə·ṣu·rō·wṯ עָרֵ֥י cities ‘ā·rê בִּֽיהוּדָ֑ה in Judah ; bî·hū·ḏāh וְאֶת־ but wə·’eṯ- נָתַ֥ן he gave nā·ṯan הַמַּמְלָכָ֛ה the kingdom ham·mam·lā·ḵāh לִֽיהוֹרָ֖ם to Jehoram lî·hō·w·rām כִּי־ because kî- ה֥וּא he hū הַבְּכֽוֹר׃פ was the firstborn . hab·bə·ḵō·wr 2 Chronicles 21:4 יְהוֹרָ֜ם When Jehoram yə·hō·w·rām וַיָּ֨קָם had established himself way·yā·qām עַל־ over ‘al- אָבִיו֙ his father’s ’ā·ḇîw מַמְלֶ֤כַת kingdom , mam·le·ḵaṯ וַיִּתְחַזַּ֔ק he strengthened himself way·yiṯ·ḥaz·zaq וַיַּהֲרֹ֥ג by putting way·ya·hă·rōḡ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בֶּחָ֑רֶב to the sword be·ḥā·reḇ כָּל־ all kāl- אֶחָ֖יו his brothers ’e·ḥāw וְגַ֖ם along with wə·ḡam מִשָּׂרֵ֥י [some] of the princes miś·śā·rê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 2 Chronicles 21:5 יְהוֹרָ֣ם Jehoram yə·hō·w·rām שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים [was] thirty-two šə·lō·šîm וּשְׁתַּ֛יִם . . . ū·šə·ta·yim בֶּן־ years old ben- שָׁנָ֖ה . . . šā·nāh בְּמָלְכ֑וֹ when he became king , bə·mā·lə·ḵōw מָלַ֖ךְ and he reigned mā·laḵ בִּירוּשָׁלִָֽם׃ in Jerusalem bî·rū·šā·lim וּשְׁמוֹנֶ֣ה eight ū·šə·mō·w·neh שָׁנִ֔ים years . šā·nîm 2 Chronicles 21:6 וַיֵּ֜לֶךְ And [Jehoram] walked way·yê·leḵ בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ׀ in the ways bə·ḏe·reḵ מַלְכֵ֣י of the kings mal·ḵê יִשְׂרָאֵ֗ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl כַּאֲשֶׁ֤ר just as ka·’ă·šer בֵּ֣ית the house bêṯ אַחְאָ֔ב of Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ עָשׂוּ֙ had done . ‘ā·śū כִּ֚י For kî לּ֖וֹ he lōw אִשָּׁ֑ה married ’iš·šāh בַּת־ a daughter baṯ- אַחְאָ֔ב of Ahab ’aḥ·’āḇ הָ֥יְתָה - hā·yə·ṯāh וַיַּ֥עַשׂ and did way·ya·‘aś הָרַ֖ע evil hā·ra‘ בְּעֵינֵ֥י in the sight bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH . Yah·weh 2 Chronicles 21:7 יְהוָ֗ה Yet YHWH Yah·weh וְלֹא־ was unwilling wə·lō- אָבָ֣ה . . . ’ā·ḇāh לְהַשְׁחִית֙ to destroy lə·haš·ḥîṯ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בֵּ֣ית the house bêṯ דָּוִ֔יד of David , dā·wîḏ לְמַ֣עַן because of lə·ma·‘an הַבְּרִ֔ית the covenant hab·bə·rîṯ
