נִשְׁבּוּ־ they were taken , niš·bū- שָׁ֑ם . . . šām וְשָׁ֣בוּ׀ and they repent wə·šā·ḇū וְהִֽתְחַנְּנ֣וּ and plead wə·hiṯ·ḥan·nə·nū אֵלֶ֗יךָ with You ’ê·le·ḵā בְּאֶ֤רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ שִׁבְיָם֙ of their captors , šiḇ·yām לֵאמֹ֔ר saying , lê·mōr חָטָ֥אנוּ ‘ We have sinned ḥā·ṭā·nū הֶעֱוִ֖ינוּ and done wrong ; he·‘ĕ·wî·nū וְרָשָֽׁעְנוּ׃ we have acted wickedly , ’ wə·rā·šā·‘ə·nū 2 Chronicles 6:38 וְשָׁ֣בוּ and when they return wə·šā·ḇū אֵלֶ֗יךָ to You ’ê·le·ḵā בְּכָל־ with all bə·ḵāl לִבָּם֙ their heart lib·bām וּבְכָל־ and ū·ḇə·ḵāl נַפְשָׁ֔ם soul nap̄·šām בְּאֶ֥רֶץ in the land bə·’e·reṣ שִׁבְיָ֖ם of the enemies šiḇ·yām אֲשֶׁר־ who ’ă·šer- שָׁב֣וּ took them captive , šā·ḇū אֹתָ֑ם - ’ō·ṯām וְהִֽתְפַּֽלְל֗וּ and when they pray wə·hiṯ·pal·lū דֶּ֤רֶךְ in the direction de·reḵ אַרְצָם֙ of the land ’ar·ṣām אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer נָתַ֣תָּה You gave nā·ṯat·tāh לַאֲבוֹתָ֔ם to their fathers , la·’ă·ḇō·w·ṯām וְהָעִיר֙ the city wə·hā·‘îr אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בָּחַ֔רְתָּ You have chosen , bā·ḥar·tā וְלַבַּ֖יִת and the house wə·lab·ba·yiṯ אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- בָּנִ֥יתִי I have built bā·nî·ṯî לִשְׁמֶֽךָ׃ for Your Name , liš·me·ḵā 2 Chronicles 6:39 וְשָׁמַעְתָּ֨ then may You hear wə·šā·ma‘·tā מִן־ from min- הַשָּׁמַ֜יִם heaven , haš·šā·ma·yim שִׁבְתְּךָ֗ Your dwelling šiḇ·tə·ḵā אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִמְּכ֣וֹן place , mim·mə·ḵō·wn תְּפִלָּתָם֙ their prayer tə·p̄il·lā·ṯām וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- תְּחִנֹּ֣תֵיהֶ֔ם and petition , tə·ḥin·nō·ṯê·hem וְעָשִׂ֖יתָ and may You uphold wə·‘ā·śî·ṯā מִשְׁפָּטָ֑ם their cause . miš·pā·ṭām וְסָלַחְתָּ֥ May You forgive wə·sā·laḥ·tā לְעַמְּךָ֖ Your people lə·‘am·mə·ḵā אֲשֶׁ֥ר who ’ă·šer חָֽטְאוּ־ sinned ḥā·ṭə·’ū- לָֽךְ׃ against You . lāḵ 2 Chronicles 6:40 עַתָּ֣ה Now , ‘at·tāh אֱלֹהַ֗י my God , ’ĕ·lō·hay נָ֤א may nā עֵינֶ֙יךָ֙ Your eyes ‘ê·ne·ḵā יִֽהְיוּ־ be yih·yū- פְּתֻח֔וֹת open pə·ṯu·ḥō·wṯ וְאָזְנֶ֖יךָ and Your ears wə·’ā·zə·ne·ḵā קַשֻּׁב֑וֹת attentive qaš·šu·ḇō·wṯ לִתְפִלַּ֖ת to the prayer offered liṯ·p̄il·laṯ הַזֶּֽה׃ס in this haz·zeh הַמָּק֥וֹם place . ham·mā·qō·wm 2 Chronicles 6:41 וְעַתָּ֗ה Now therefore , wə·‘at·tāh קוּמָ֞ה arise , qū·māh יְהוָ֤ה O YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהִים֙ God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm לְֽנוּחֶ֔ךָ and enter Your resting place , lə·nū·ḥe·ḵā אַתָּ֖ה You ’at·tāh וַאֲר֣וֹן and the ark wa·’ă·rō·wn עֻזֶּ֑ךָ of Your might . ‘uz·ze·ḵā כֹּהֲנֶ֜יךָ May Your priests , kō·hă·ne·ḵā יְהוָ֤ה O YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהִים֙ God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm יִלְבְּשׁ֣וּ be clothed yil·bə·šū תְשׁוּעָ֔ה with salvation , ṯə·šū·‘āh וַחֲסִידֶ֖יךָ and may Your godly ones wa·ḥă·sî·ḏe·ḵā יִשְׂמְח֥וּ rejoice yiś·mə·ḥū בַטּֽוֹב׃ in goodness . ḇaṭ·ṭō·wḇ 2 Chronicles 6:42 יְהוָ֣ה O YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהִ֔ים God , ’ĕ·lō·hîm אַל־ do not ’al- תָּשֵׁ֖ב reject tā·šêḇ פְּנֵ֣י . . . pə·nê מְשִׁיחֶ֑יךָ Your anointed one . mə·šî·ḥe·ḵā זָכְרָ֕ה Remember zā·ḵə·rāh
