לִדְר֖וֹשׁ to seek liḏ·rō·wōš לַיהוָ֣ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֑ם your God . ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem וְק֗וּמוּ Get started wə·qū·mū וּבְנוּ֙ building ū·ḇə·nū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מִקְדַּשׁ֙ the sanctuary miq·daš יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm לְהָבִ֞יא so that you may bring lə·hā·ḇî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲר֣וֹן the ark ’ă·rō·wn בְּרִית־ of the covenant bə·rîṯ- יְהוָ֗ה of YHWH Yah·weh קֹ֣דֶשׁ and the holy qō·ḏeš וּכְלֵי֙ articles ū·ḵə·lê הָֽאֱלֹהִ֔ים of God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm לַבַּ֖יִת into the temple lab·ba·yiṯ הַנִּבְנֶ֥ה that will be built han·niḇ·neh לְשֵׁם־ for the Name lə·šêm- יְהוָֽה׃פ of YHWH . ” Yah·weh 1 Chronicles 23:1 וְדָוִ֥יד When David wə·ḏā·wîḏ זָקֵ֖ן was old zā·qên וְשָׂבַ֣ע and full of wə·śā·ḇa‘ יָמִ֑ים years , yā·mîm בְנ֖וֹ he installed his son ḇə·nōw שְׁלֹמֹ֥ה Solomon šə·lō·mōh וַיַּמְלֵ֛ךְ as king way·yam·lêḵ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַל־ over ‘al- יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Chronicles 23:2 וַיֶּאֱסֹף֙ Then he gathered way·ye·’ĕ·sōp̄ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all kāl- שָׂרֵ֣י the leaders śā·rê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וְהַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים as well as the priests wə·hak·kō·hă·nîm וְהַלְוִיִּֽם׃ and Levites . wə·hal·wî·yim 1 Chronicles 23:3 הַלְוִיִּ֔ם The Levites hal·wî·yim שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים thirty šə·lō·šîm מִבֶּ֛ן years of age mib·ben שָׁנָ֖ה . . . šā·nāh וָמָ֑עְלָה or older wā·mā·‘ə·lāh וַיִּסָּֽפְרוּ֙ were counted , way·yis·sā·p̄ə·rū מִסְפָּרָ֤ם and the total number mis·pā·rām לִגְבָרִ֔ים of men liḡ·ḇā·rîm וַיְהִ֨י was way·hî שְׁלֹשִׁ֥ים 38,000 {} šə·lō·šîm וּשְׁמוֹנָ֖ה . . . ū·šə·mō·w·nāh אָֽלֶף׃ . . . ’ā·lep̄ לְגֻלְגְּלֹתָם֙ - . lə·ḡul·gə·lō·ṯām 1 Chronicles 23:4 מֵאֵ֗לֶּה “ Of these,” [said David,] mê·’êl·leh עֶשְׂרִ֥ים “24,000 ‘eś·rîm וְאַרְבָּעָ֖ה . . . wə·’ar·bā·‘āh אָ֑לֶף . . . ’ā·lep̄ לְנַצֵּ֙חַ֙ are to oversee lə·naṣ·ṣê·aḥ עַל־ - ‘al- מְלֶ֣אכֶת the work mə·le·ḵeṯ בֵּית־ of the house bêṯ- יְהוָ֔ה of YHWH , Yah·weh שֵׁ֥שֶׁת 6,000 {} šê·šeṯ אֲלָפִֽים׃ . . . ’ă·lā·p̄îm וְשֹׁטְרִ֥ים are to be officers wə·šō·ṭə·rîm וְשֹׁפְטִ֖ים and judges , wə·šō·p̄ə·ṭîm 1 Chronicles 23:5 וְאַרְבַּ֥עַת 4,000 {} wə·’ar·ba·‘aṯ אֲלָפִ֖ים . . . ’ă·lā·p̄îm שֹׁעֲרִ֑ים are to be gatekeepers , šō·‘ă·rîm וְאַרְבַּ֤עַת and 4,000 wə·’ar·ba·‘aṯ אֲלָפִים֙ . . . ’ă·lā·p̄îm מְהַֽלְלִ֣ים are to praise mə·hal·lîm לַיהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh בַּכֵּלִ֕ים with the instruments bak·kê·lîm אֲשֶׁ֥ר - ’ă·šer עָשִׂ֖יתִי I have made ‘ā·śî·ṯî לְהַלֵּֽל׃ for giving praise . ” lə·hal·lêl 1 Chronicles 23:6 דָּוִ֖יד Then David dā·wîḏ וַיֶּֽחָלְקֵ֥ם divided [the Levites] way·ye·ḥā·lə·qêm מַחְלְק֑וֹתס into divisions maḥ·lə·qō·ṯs לִבְנֵ֣י according to the sons liḇ·nê לֵוִ֔י of Levi : lê·wî לְגֵרְשׁ֖וֹן Gershom , lə·ḡê·rə·šō·wn קְהָ֥ת Kohath , qə·hāṯ
