1 Chronicles 11:2 גַּם־ Even gam- תְּמ֣וֹל . . . tə·mō·wl גַּם־ . . . gam- שִׁלְשׁ֗וֹם in times past , šil·šō·wm גַּ֚ם . . . gam שָׁא֣וּל while Saul šā·’ūl בִּהְי֣וֹת was bih·yō·wṯ מֶ֔לֶךְ king , me·leḵ אַתָּ֛ה you [were] ’at·tāh הַמּוֹצִ֥יא the one who led ham·mō·w·ṣî יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל Israel out yiś·rā·’êl וְהַמֵּבִ֖יא and brought them back . wə·ham·mê·ḇî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֨ה And YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā וַיֹּאמֶר֩ said way·yō·mer לְךָ֗ - , lə·ḵā אַתָּ֨ה ‘ You ’at·tāh תִרְעֶ֤ה will shepherd ṯir·‘eh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עַמִּי֙ My people ‘am·mî אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel , yiś·rā·’êl וְאַתָּה֙ and you wə·’at·tāh תִּהְיֶ֣ה will be tih·yeh נָגִ֔יד ruler nā·ḡîḏ עַ֖ל over ‘al עַמִּ֥י [them] ‘am·mî יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ . . . . ’” yiś·rā·’êl 1 Chronicles 11:3 כָּל־ So all kāl- זִקְנֵ֨י the elders ziq·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֤ל of Israel yiś·rā·’êl וַ֠יָּבֹאוּ came way·yā·ḇō·’ū אֶל־ to ’el- הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king ham·me·leḵ חֶבְר֔וֹנָה at Hebron , ḥeḇ·rō·w·nāh בְּחֶבְר֖וֹן [where] bə·ḥeḇ·rō·wn דָּוִ֥יד David dā·wîḏ וַיִּכְרֹת֩ made way·yiḵ·rōṯ בְּרִ֛ית a covenant bə·rîṯ לָהֶ֨ם with them lā·hem לִפְנֵ֣י before lip̄·nê יְהוָ֑ה YHWH . Yah·weh וַיִּמְשְׁח֨וּ And they anointed way·yim·šə·ḥū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- דָּוִ֤יד [him] dā·wîḏ לְמֶ֙לֶךְ֙ king lə·me·leḵ עַל־ over ‘al- יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל Israel , yiś·rā·’êl כִּדְבַ֥ר according to the word kiḏ·ḇar יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh בְּיַד־ through bə·yaḏ- שְׁמוּאֵֽל׃ס Samuel . šə·mū·’êl 1 Chronicles 11:4 דָּוִ֧יד Then David dā·wîḏ וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl יִשְׂרָאֵ֛ל the Israelites yiś·rā·’êl וַיֵּ֨לֶךְ marched way·yê·leḵ יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם to Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim הִ֣יא (that is , hî יְב֑וּס Jebus) , yə·ḇūs וְשָׁם֙ where wə·šām הַיְבוּסִ֔י the Jebusites hay·ḇū·sî יֹשְׁבֵ֖י inhabited yō·šə·ḇê הָאָֽרֶץ׃ the land . hā·’ā·reṣ 1 Chronicles 11:5 יֹשְׁבֵ֤י The people yō·šə·ḇê יְבוּס֙ of Jebus yə·ḇūs וַיֹּ֨אמְר֜וּ said way·yō·mə·rū לְדָוִ֔יד to David , lə·ḏā·wîḏ לֹ֥א “ You will never lō תָב֖וֹא get in ṯā·ḇō·w הֵ֑נָּה here . ” hên·nāh דָּוִיד֙ Nevertheless , David dā·wîḏ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּלְכֹּ֤ד captured way·yil·kōḏ מְצֻדַ֣ת the fortress mə·ṣu·ḏaṯ צִיּ֔וֹן of Zion ṣî·yō·wn הִ֖יא ( that is , hî עִ֥יר the City ‘îr דָּוִֽיד׃ of David ) . dā·wîḏ 1 Chronicles 11:6 דָּוִ֔יד Now David dā·wîḏ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר had said , way·yō·mer כָּל־ “ Whoever kāl- בָּרִ֣אשׁוֹנָ֔ה is the first bā·ri·šō·w·nāh מַכֵּ֤ה to strike down mak·kêh יְבוּסִי֙ a Jebusite yə·ḇū·sî
