2 Kings 25:1 וַיְהִי֩ So way·hî הַתְּשִׁיעִ֜ית in the ninth hat·tə·šî·‘îṯ בִשְׁנַ֨ת year ḇiš·naṯ לְמָלְכ֗וֹ of Zedekiah’s reign , lə·mā·lə·ḵōw בֶּעָשׂ֣וֹר on the tenth be·‘ā·śō·wr לַחֹדֶשׁ֒ . . . la·ḥō·ḏeš הָעֲשִׂירִי֮ day of the tenth hā·‘ă·śî·rî בַּחֹ֣דֶשׁ month , ba·ḥō·ḏeš נְבֻכַדְנֶאצַּ֨ר Nebuchadnezzar nə·ḇu·ḵaḏ·neṣ·ṣar מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- בָּבֶ֜ל of Babylon bā·ḇel ה֧וּא . . . hū בָּ֠א marched bā עַל־ against ‘al- יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim וְכָל־ with his entire wə·ḵāl חֵיל֛וֹ army . ḥê·lōw וַיִּ֣חַן They encamped way·yi·ḥan עָלֶ֑יהָ outside [the city] ‘ā·le·hā וַיִּבְנ֥וּ and built way·yiḇ·nū דָּיֵ֥ק a siege wall dā·yêq עָלֶ֖יהָ . . . ‘ā·le·hā סָבִֽיב׃ all around it . sā·ḇîḇ 2 Kings 25:2 הָעִ֖יר And the city hā·‘îr וַתָּבֹ֥א was kept wat·tā·ḇō בַּמָּצ֑וֹר under siege bam·mā·ṣō·wr עַ֚ד until ‘aḏ לַמֶּ֖לֶךְ King lam·me·leḵ צִדְקִיָּֽהוּ׃ Zedekiah’s ṣiḏ·qî·yā·hū עַשְׁתֵּ֣י eleventh ‘aš·tê עֶשְׂרֵ֣ה . . . ‘eś·rêh שָׁנָ֔ה year . šā·nāh 2 Kings 25:3 בְּתִשְׁעָ֣ה By the ninth [day] bə·ṯiš·‘āh לַחֹ֔דֶשׁ of the [fourth] month , la·ḥō·ḏeš הָרָעָ֖ב the famine hā·rā·‘āḇ בָּעִ֑יר in the city bā·‘îr וַיֶּחֱזַ֥ק was so severe way·ye·ḥĕ·zaq לְעַ֥ם that the people lə·‘am הָאָֽרֶץ׃ of the land hā·’ā·reṣ הָ֥יָה had hā·yāh וְלֹא־ no wə·lō- לֶ֖חֶם food . le·ḥem 2 Kings 25:4 הָעִ֗יר Then the city hā·‘îr וַתִּבָּקַ֣ע was breached ; wat·tib·bā·qa‘ וְכַשְׂדִּ֥ים and though the Chaldeans wə·ḵaś·dîm עַל־ . . . ‘al- סָבִ֑יב had surrounded sā·ḇîḇ הָעִ֖יר the city , hā·‘îr וְכָל־ all wə·ḵāl אַנְשֵׁ֨י the men ’an·šê הַמִּלְחָמָ֤ה׀ of war ham·mil·ḥā·māh הַלַּ֙יְלָה֙ fled by night hal·lay·lāh דֶּ֜רֶךְ by way de·reḵ שַׁ֣עַר׀ of the gate ša·‘ar בֵּ֣ין between bên הַחֹמֹתַ֗יִם the two walls ha·ḥō·mō·ṯa·yim אֲשֶׁר֙ - ’ă·šer עַל־ near ‘al- הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king’s ham·me·leḵ גַּ֣ן garden . gan וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ They headed way·yê·leḵ דֶּ֥רֶךְ toward de·reḵ הָעֲרָבָֽה׃ the Arabah , hā·‘ă·rā·ḇāh 2 Kings 25:5 חֵיל־ but the army ḥêl- כַּשְׂדִּים֙ of the Chaldeans kaś·dîm וַיִּרְדְּפ֤וּ pursued way·yir·də·p̄ū אַחַ֣ר ’a·ḥar הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ [the king] ham·me·leḵ וַיַּשִּׂ֥גוּ and overtook way·yaś·śi·ḡū אֹת֖וֹ him ’ō·ṯōw בְּעַרְב֣וֹת in the plains bə·‘ar·ḇō·wṯ יְרֵח֑וֹ of Jericho , yə·rê·ḥōw וְכָל־ and all wə·ḵāl חֵיל֔וֹ his army ḥê·lōw נָפֹ֖צוּ was separated nā·p̄ō·ṣū מֵעָלָֽיו׃ from him . mê·‘ā·lāw 2 Kings 25:6 וַֽיִּתְפְּשׂוּ֙ The Chaldeans seized way·yiṯ·pə·śū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ וַיַּעֲל֥וּ and brought him up way·ya·‘ă·lū אֹת֛וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw אֶל־ to ’el- מֶ֥לֶךְ the king me·leḵ בָּבֶ֖ל of Babylon bā·ḇel רִבְלָ֑תָה at Riblah , riḇ·lā·ṯāh
