יְחִזְקִיָּ֔הוּ Hezekiah , yə·ḥiz·qî·yā·hū לֹ֣א “ but not lō כִ֔י . . . ḵî הַצֵּ֛ל for it haṣ·ṣêl יָשׁ֥וּב to go yā·šūḇ אֲחֹרַנִּ֖ית back ’ă·ḥō·ran·nîṯ עֶ֥שֶׂר ten ‘e·śer מַעֲלֽוֹת׃ steps . ” ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ 2 Kings 20:11 יְשַׁעְיָ֥הוּ So Isaiah yə·ša‘·yā·hū הַנָּבִ֖יא the prophet han·nā·ḇî וַיִּקְרָ֛א called out way·yiq·rā אֶל־ to ’el- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh וַיָּ֣שֶׁב and He brought way·yā·šeḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַצֵּ֗ל the shadow haṣ·ṣêl בַּֽ֠מַּעֲלוֹת . . . bam·ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֨ר - ’ă·šer אֲחֹֽרַנִּ֖ית back ’ă·ḥō·ran·nîṯ עֶ֥שֶׂר the ten ‘e·śer בְּמַעֲל֥וֹת steps bə·ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ יָרְדָ֜ה it had descended yā·rə·ḏāh מַעֲלֽוֹת׃פ on the stairway ma·‘ă·lō·wṯ אָחָ֛ז of Ahaz . ’ā·ḥāz 2 Kings 20:12 הַהִ֡יא At that ha·hî בָּעֵ֣ת time bā·‘êṯ בַּ֠לְאֲדָן Merodach-baladan bal·’ă·ḏān בֶּֽן־ son ben- בַּלְאֲדָ֧ן of Baladan bal·’ă·ḏān מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- בָּבֶ֛ל of Babylon bā·ḇel שָׁלַ֡ח sent šā·laḥ בְּרֹאדַ֣ךְ bə·rō·ḏaḵ סְפָרִ֥ים letters sə·p̄ā·rîm וּמִנְחָ֖ה and a gift ū·min·ḥāh אֶל־ to ’el- חִזְקִיָּ֑הוּ Hezekiah , ḥiz·qî·yā·hū כִּ֣י for kî שָׁמַ֔ע he had heard šā·ma‘ כִּ֥י about kî חִזְקִיָּֽהוּ׃ Hezekiah’s ḥiz·qî·yā·hū חָלָ֖ה illness . ḥā·lāh 2 Kings 20:13 חִזְקִיָּהוּ֒ And Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yā·hū וַיִּשְׁמַ֣ע received way·yiš·ma‘ עֲלֵיהֶם֮ [the envoys] ‘ă·lê·hem וַיַּרְאֵ֣ם and showed them way·yar·’êm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ all that was kāl- נְכֹתֹ֡ה in his treasure nə·ḵō·ṯōh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בֵּ֣ית house — bêṯ הַכֶּסֶף֩ the silver , hak·ke·sep̄ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַזָּהָ֨ב the gold , haz·zā·hāḇ וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַבְּשָׂמִ֜ים the spices , hab·bə·śā·mîm וְאֵ֣ת׀ - wə·’êṯ הַטּ֗וֹב and the precious haṭ·ṭō·wḇ וְאֵת֙ - wə·’êṯ שֶׁ֣מֶן oil , še·men בֵּ֣ית as well as his armory bêṯ כֵּלָ֔יו . . . — kê·lāw וְאֵ֛ת - wə·’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- אֲשֶׁ֥ר that ’ă·šer נִמְצָ֖א was found nim·ṣā בְּאֽוֹצְרֹתָ֑יו in his storehouses . bə·’ō·wṣ·rō·ṯāw הָיָ֣ה There was hā·yāh לֹֽא־ nothing lō- דָבָ֗ר . . . ḏā·ḇār בְּבֵית֖וֹ in his palace bə·ḇê·ṯōw וּבְכָל־ or in all ū·ḇə·ḵāl מֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ׃ his dominion mem·šal·tōw אֲ֠שֶׁר that ’ă·šer חִזְקִיָּ֛הוּ Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yā·hū לֹֽא־ did not lō- הֶרְאָ֧ם show them . her·’ām 2 Kings 20:14 הַנָּבִ֔יא Then the prophet han·nā·ḇî יְשַֽׁעְיָ֣הוּ Isaiah yə·ša‘·yā·hū וַיָּבֹא֙ went way·yā·ḇō אֶל־ to ’el- הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ King ham·me·leḵ חִזְקִיָּ֑הוּ Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yā·hū וַיֹּ֨אמֶר and asked , way·yō·mer וּמֵאַ֙יִן֙ “ Where ū·mê·’a·yin הָאֵ֗לֶּה did those hā·’êl·leh הָאֲנָשִׁ֣ים men hā·’ă·nā·šîm יָבֹ֣אוּ come from yā·ḇō·’ū
