לֵאמֹ֖ר . . . lê·mōr מִצְוַ֨ת had commanded , miṣ·waṯ לֹ֥א “ Do not lō תַעֲנֻֽהוּ׃ answer him . ” ṯa·‘ă·nu·hū 2 Kings 18:37 חִלְקִיָּ֣ה Then Hilkiah’s ḥil·qî·yāh בֶּן־ son ben- אֶלְיָקִ֣ים Eliakim ’el·yā·qîm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- הַ֠בַּיִת the palace hab·ba·yiṯ עַל־ administrator , ‘al- וְשֶׁבְנָ֨א Shebna wə·šeḇ·nā הַסֹּפֵ֜ר the scribe , has·sō·p̄êr אָסָ֧ף and Asaph’s ’ā·sāp̄ בֶּן־ son ben- וְיוֹאָ֨ח Joah wə·yō·w·’āḥ הַמַּזְכִּ֛יר the recorder ham·maz·kîr וַיָּבֹ֣א came way·yā·ḇō אֶל־ to ’el- חִזְקִיָּ֖הוּ Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yā·hū בְגָדִ֑ים with their clothes ḇə·ḡā·ḏîm קְרוּעֵ֣י torn , qə·rū·‘ê וַיַּגִּ֣דוּ and they relayed way·yag·gi·ḏū ל֔וֹ to him lōw דִּבְרֵ֖י the words diḇ·rê רַב־ vvv raḇ- שָׁקֵֽה׃ of [the] Rabshakeh . šā·qêh 2 Kings 19:1 וַיְהִ֗י On way·hî כִּשְׁמֹ֙עַ֙ hearing [this report] , kiš·mō·a‘ הַמֶּ֣לֶךְ King ham·me·leḵ חִזְקִיָּ֔הוּ Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yā·hū וַיִּקְרַ֖ע tore way·yiq·ra‘ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּגָדָ֑יו his clothes , bə·ḡā·ḏāw וַיִּתְכַּ֣ס put on way·yiṯ·kas בַּשָּׂ֔ק sackcloth , baś·śāq וַיָּבֹ֖א and entered way·yā·ḇō בֵּ֥ית the house bêṯ יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH . Yah·weh 2 Kings 19:2 וַ֠יִּשְׁלַח And he sent way·yiš·laḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֶלְיָקִ֨ים Eliakim ’el·yā·qîm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- הַבַּ֜יִת the palace hab·ba·yiṯ עַל־ administrator , ‘al- וְשֶׁבְנָ֣א Shebna wə·šeḇ·nā הַסֹּפֵ֗ר the scribe , has·sō·p̄êr וְאֵת֙ - wə·’êṯ זִקְנֵ֣י and the leading ziq·nê הַכֹּֽהֲנִ֔ים priests , hak·kō·hă·nîm מִתְכַּסִּ֖ים all wearing miṯ·kas·sîm בַּשַּׂקִּ֑ים sackcloth , baś·śaq·qîm אֶל־ to ’el- הַנָּבִ֖יא the prophet han·nā·ḇî יְשַֽׁעְיָ֥הוּ Isaiah yə·ša‘·yā·hū בֶּן־ son ben- אָמֽוֹץ׃ of Amoz ’ā·mō·wṣ 2 Kings 19:3 וַיֹּאמְר֣וּ to tell way·yō·mə·rū אֵלָ֗יו him , ’ê·lāw כֹּ֚ה “ This is what kōh חִזְקִיָּ֔הוּ Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yā·hū אָמַ֣ר says : ’ā·mar יוֹם־ Today yō·wm- הַזֶּ֑ה . . . haz·zeh הַיּ֣וֹם is a day hay·yō·wm צָרָ֧ה of distress , ṣā·rāh וְתוֹכֵחָ֛ה rebuke , wə·ṯō·w·ḵê·ḥāh וּנְאָצָ֖ה and disgrace ; ū·nə·’ā·ṣāh כִּ֣י for kî בָנִים֙ children ḇā·nîm בָ֤אוּ have come ḇā·’ū עַד־ to the point of ‘aḏ- מַשְׁבֵּ֔ר birth , maš·bêr אַ֖יִן but there is no ’a·yin וְכֹ֥חַ strength wə·ḵō·aḥ לְלֵדָֽה׃ to deliver them . lə·lê·ḏāh 2 Kings 19:4 אוּלַ֡י Perhaps ’ū·lay יְהוָ֨ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֶ֜יךָ your God ’ĕ·lō·he·ḵā אֵ֣ת׀ - ’êṯ יִשְׁמַע֩ will hear yiš·ma‘ כָּל־ all kāl- דִּבְרֵ֣י the words diḇ·rê רַב־ vvv raḇ- שָׁקֵ֗ה of the Rabshakeh , šā·qêh אֲשֶׁר֩ whom ’ă·šer
