הִ֚יא which hî הַשְּׁבִיעִ֔ית was the seventh haš·šə·ḇî·‘îṯ הַשָּׁנָ֣ה year haš·šā·nāh מֶ֣לֶךְ of the reign me·leḵ לְהוֹשֵׁ֥עַ of Hoshea lə·hō·wō·šê·a‘ בֶּן־ son ben- אֵלָ֖ה of Elah ’ê·lāh יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל over Israel , yiś·rā·’êl שַׁלְמַנְאֶ֧סֶר Shalmaneser šal·man·’e·ser מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- אַשּׁ֛וּר of Assyria ’aš·šūr עָלָ֞ה marched ‘ā·lāh עַל־ against ‘al- שֹׁמְר֖וֹן Samaria šō·mə·rō·wn וַיָּ֥צַר and besieged way·yā·ṣar עָלֶֽיהָ׃ it . ‘ā·le·hā 2 Kings 18:10 מִקְצֵה֙ And at the end miq·ṣêh שָׁלֹ֣שׁ of three šā·lōš שָׁנִ֔ים years , šā·nîm וַֽיִּלְכְּדֻ֗הָ the Assyrians captured it . way·yil·kə·ḏu·hā שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ So Samaria šō·mə·rō·wn נִלְכְּדָ֖ה was captured nil·kə·ḏāh שֵׁ֖שׁ in the sixth šêš בִּשְׁנַת־ year biš·naṯ- לְחִזְקִיָּ֑ה of Hezekiah , lə·ḥiz·qî·yāh הִ֣יא which hî תֵּ֗שַׁע was the ninth tê·ša‘ שְׁנַת־ year šə·naṯ- לְהוֹשֵׁ֙עַ֙ of Hoshea lə·hō·wō·šê·a‘ מֶ֣לֶךְ king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 2 Kings 18:11 מֶֽלֶךְ־ The king me·leḵ- אַשּׁ֛וּר of Assyria ’aš·šūr אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיֶּ֧גֶל exiled way·ye·ḡel יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל the Israelites yiś·rā·’êl אַשּׁ֑וּרָה to Assyria ’aš·šū·rāh וַיַּנְחֵ֞ם and settled them way·yan·ḥêm בַּחְלַ֧ח in Halah , baḥ·laḥ גּוֹזָ֖ן in Gozan gō·w·zān וּבְחָב֛וֹר by the Habor ū·ḇə·ḥā·ḇō·wr נְהַ֥ר River , nə·har וְעָרֵ֥י and in the cities wə·‘ā·rê מָדָֽי׃ of the Medes . mā·ḏāy 2 Kings 18:12 עַ֣ל׀ [This happened] because ‘al אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer לֹֽא־ they did not lō- שָׁמְע֗וּ listen šā·mə·‘ū בְּקוֹל֙ to the voice bə·qō·wl יְהוָ֣ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיהֶ֔ם their God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·hem וַיַּעַבְרוּ֙ but violated way·ya·‘aḇ·rū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּרִית֔וֹ His covenant — bə·rî·ṯōw אֵ֚ת - ’êṯ כָּל־ all kāl- אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mō·šeh עֶ֣בֶד the servant ‘e·ḇeḏ יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH Yah·weh צִוָּ֔ה had commanded — ṣiw·wāh וְלֹ֥א and would neither wə·lō שָׁמְע֖וּ listen šā·mə·‘ū וְלֹ֥א nor wə·lō עָשֽׂוּ׃פ obey . ‘ā·śū 2 Kings 18:13 וּבְאַרְבַּע֩ In the fourteenth ū·ḇə·’ar·ba‘ עֶשְׂרֵ֨ה . . . ‘eś·rêh שָׁנָ֜ה year šā·nāh חִזְקִיָּ֗ה of Hezekiah’s ḥiz·qî·yāh לַמֶּ֣לֶךְ reign , lam·me·leḵ סַנְחֵרִ֤יב Sennacherib san·ḥê·rîḇ מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- אַשּׁוּר֙ of Assyria ’aš·šūr עָלָ֞ה attacked ‘ā·lāh עַ֣ל . . . ‘al וַֽיִּתְפְּשֵֽׂם׃ and captured way·yiṯ·pə·śêm כָּל־ all kāl- הַבְּצֻר֖וֹת the fortified hab·bə·ṣu·rō·wṯ עָרֵ֧י cities ‘ā·rê יְהוּדָ֛ה of Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh 2 Kings 18:14 חִזְקִיָּ֣ה So Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yāh מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- יְהוּדָ֣ה of Judah yə·hū·ḏāh וַיִּשְׁלַ֣ח sent way·yiš·laḥ אֶל־ word to ’el-
