2 Kings 17:39 כִּ֛י but kî אִֽם־ . . . ’im- אֶת־ - ’eṯ- תִּירָ֑אוּ worship tî·rā·’ū יְהוָ֥ה YHWH Yah·weh אֱלֹהֵיכֶ֖ם your God , ’ĕ·lō·hê·ḵem וְהוּא֙ and He wə·hū יַצִּ֣יל will deliver yaṣ·ṣîl אֶתְכֶ֔ם you ’eṯ·ḵem מִיַּ֖ד from the hands mî·yaḏ כָּל־ of all kāl- אֹיְבֵיכֶֽם׃ your enemies . ” ’ō·yə·ḇê·ḵem 2 Kings 17:40 וְלֹ֖א But they would not wə·lō שָׁמֵ֑עוּ listen , šā·mê·‘ū כִּ֛י and kî אִֽם־ . . . ’im- עֹשִֽׂים׃ they persisted in ‘ō·śîm הָֽרִאשׁ֖וֹן their former hā·ri·šō·wn הֵ֥ם . . . hêm כְּמִשְׁפָּטָ֥ם customs . kə·miš·pā·ṭām 2 Kings 17:41 וַיִּהְי֣וּ׀ So way·yih·yū הָאֵ֗לֶּה these hā·’êl·leh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַגּוֹיִ֣ם nations hag·gō·w·yim יְרֵאִים֙ worshiped yə·rê·’îm יְהוָ֔ה YHWH Yah·weh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- עֹֽבְדִ֑ים but also served ‘ō·ḇə·ḏîm גַּם־ . . . gam- פְּסִֽילֵיהֶ֖ם their idols , pə·sî·lê·hem הָי֣וּ and hā·yū עַ֖ד to ‘aḏ הַזֶּֽה׃פ this haz·zeh הַיּ֥וֹם day hay·yō·wm בְּנֵיהֶ֣ם׀ their children bə·nê·hem בְנֵיהֶ֗ם and grandchildren ḇə·nê·hem וּבְנֵ֣י . . . ū·ḇə·nê עָשׂ֤וּ continue to do ‘ā·śū כַּאֲשֶׁ֨ר as ka·’ă·šer אֲבֹתָם֙ their fathers ’ă·ḇō·ṯām הֵ֣ם . . . hêm עֹשִׂ֔ים did . ‘ō·śîm 2 Kings 18:1 וַֽיְהִי֙ - way·hî שָׁלֹ֔שׁ In the third šā·lōš בִּשְׁנַ֣ת year biš·naṯ מֶ֣לֶךְ of the reign me·leḵ לְהוֹשֵׁ֥עַ of Hoshea lə·hō·wō·šê·a‘ בֶּן־ son ben- אֵלָ֖ה of Elah ’ê·lāh יִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל over Israel , yiś·rā·’êl חִזְקִיָּ֥ה Hezekiah ḥiz·qî·yāh בֶן־ son ḇen- אָחָ֖ז of Ahaz ’ā·ḥāz מָלַ֛ךְ became king mā·laḵ מֶ֥לֶךְ . . . me·leḵ יְהוּדָֽה׃ of Judah . yə·hū·ḏāh 2 Kings 18:2 הָיָ֣ה He was hā·yāh עֶשְׂרִ֨ים twenty-five ‘eś·rîm וְחָמֵ֤שׁ . . . wə·ḥā·mêš בֶּן־ years old ben- שָׁנָה֙ . . . šā·nāh בְמָלְכ֔וֹ when he became king , ḇə·mā·lə·ḵōw מָלַ֖ךְ and he reigned mā·laḵ בִּירוּשָׁלִָ֑ם in Jerusalem bî·rū·šā·lim וְעֶשְׂרִ֤ים twenty-nine wə·‘eś·rîm וָתֵ֙שַׁע֙ . . . wā·ṯê·ša‘ שָׁנָ֔ה years . šā·nāh אִמּ֔וֹ His mother’s ’im·mōw וְשֵׁ֣ם name wə·šêm אֲבִ֖י was Abi , ’ă·ḇî בַּת־ the daughter baṯ- זְכַרְיָֽה׃ of Zechariah . zə·ḵar·yāh 2 Kings 18:3 וַיַּ֥עַשׂ And he did way·ya·‘aś הַיָּשָׁ֖ר [what was] right hay·yā·šār בְּעֵינֵ֣י in the eyes bə·‘ê·nê יְהוָ֑ה of YHWH , Yah·weh כְּכֹ֥ל just as kə·ḵōl אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- אָבִֽיו׃ his father ’ā·ḇîw דָּוִ֥ד David dā·wiḏ עָשָׂ֖ה had done . ‘ā·śāh
