Yah·weh 2 Kings 17:29 וַיִּהְי֣וּ Nevertheless , way·yih·yū גּ֥וֹי the people of each nation gō·w גּ֖וֹי . . . gō·w עֹשִׂ֔ים continued to make ‘ō·śîm אֱלֹהָ֑יו their own gods ’ĕ·lō·hāw גּוֹי֙ gō·w בְּעָ֣רֵיהֶ֔ם in the cities bə·‘ā·rê·hem אֲשֶׁ֛ר where ’ă·šer הֵ֥ם they hêm יֹשְׁבִ֖ים had settled yō·šə·ḇîm שָֽׁם׃ , šām וַיַּנִּ֣יחוּ׀ and they set them up way·yan·nî·ḥū בְּבֵ֣ית in the shrines bə·ḇêṯ אֲשֶׁ֤ר that ’ă·šer גּ֥וֹי the people gō·w הַשֹּׁ֣מְרֹנִ֔ים of Samaria haš·šō·mə·rō·nîm עָשׂוּ֙ had made ‘ā·śū הַבָּמ֗וֹת on the high places . hab·bā·mō·wṯ 2 Kings 17:30 וְאַנְשֵׁ֣י The men wə·’an·šê בָבֶ֗ל of Babylon ḇā·ḇel עָשׂוּ֙ made ‘ā·śū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- סֻכּ֣וֹת vvv suk·kō·wṯ בְּנ֔וֹת Succoth-benoth , bə·nō·wṯ וְאַנְשֵׁי־ the men wə·’an·šê- כ֔וּת of Cuth ḵūṯ עָשׂ֖וּ made ‘ā·śū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- נֵֽרְגַ֑ל Nergal , nê·rə·ḡal וְאַנְשֵׁ֥י the men wə·’an·šê חֲמָ֖ת of Hamath ḥă·māṯ עָשׂ֥וּ made ‘ā·śū אֶת־ - ’eṯ- אֲשִׁימָֽא׃ Ashima , ’ă·šî·mā 2 Kings 17:31 וְהָעַוִּ֛ים the Avvites wə·hā·‘aw·wîm עָשׂ֥וּ made ‘ā·śū נִבְחַ֖ז Nibhaz niḇ·ḥaz וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- תַּרְתָּ֑ק and Tartak , tar·tāq וְהַסְפַרְוִ֗ים and the Sepharvites wə·has·p̄ar·wîm שֹׂרְפִ֤ים burned śō·rə·p̄îm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּנֵיהֶם֙ their children bə·nê·hem בָּאֵ֔שׁ in the fire bā·’êš לְאַדְרַמֶּ֥לֶךְ to Adrammelech lə·’aḏ·ram·me·leḵ וַֽעֲנַמֶּ֖לֶךְ and Anammelech wa·‘ă·nam·me·leḵ אֱלֹהַּ the gods ʾɛ̆·lō·ah סְפָרִים׃ of Sepharvaim . sə·p̄å̄·rīm 2 Kings 17:32 וַיִּהְי֥וּ So way·yih·yū יְרֵאִ֖ים [the new residents] worshiped yə·rê·’îm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֑ה YHWH , Yah·weh וַיַּעֲשׂ֨וּ but they also appointed way·ya·‘ă·śū לָהֶ֤ם for themselves lā·hem כֹּהֲנֵ֣י priests kō·hă·nê מִקְצוֹתָם֙ of all sorts miq·ṣō·w·ṯām עֹשִׂ֥ים to serve ‘ō·śîm לָהֶ֖ם . . . lā·hem בְּבֵ֥ית in the shrines bə·ḇêṯ הַבָּמֽוֹת׃ . . . hab·bā·mō·wṯ בָמ֔וֹת of the high places ḇā·mō·wṯ וַיִּהְי֛וּ . . . . way·yih·yū 2 Kings 17:33 הָי֣וּ - hā·yū יְרֵאִ֑ים They worshiped yə·rê·’îm אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יְהוָ֖ה YHWH , Yah·weh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- עֹֽבְדִ֔ים but they also served ‘ō·ḇə·ḏîm אֱלֹֽהֵיהֶם֙ their own gods ’ĕ·lō·hê·hem הָי֣וּ . . . hā·yū כְּמִשְׁפַּט֙ according to the customs kə·miš·paṭ הַגּוֹיִ֔ם of the nations hag·gō·w·yim אֲשֶׁר־ from which ’ă·šer- הִגְל֥וּ they had been carried away hiḡ·lū אֹתָ֖ם - ’ō·ṯām מִשָּֽׁם׃ - . miš·šām 2 Kings 17:34 עַ֣ד To ‘aḏ הַזֶּה֙ this haz·zeh הַיּ֤וֹם day hay·yō·wm הֵ֣ם they hêm
