2 Kings 6:20 וַיְהִי֮ - way·hî כְּבֹאָ֣ם When they had entered kə·ḇō·’ām שֹׁמְרוֹן֒ Samaria , šō·mə·rō·wn אֱלִישָׁ֔ע Elisha ’ĕ·lî·šā‘ וַיֹּ֣אמֶר said , way·yō·mer יְהוָ֕ה “ O YHWH , Yah·weh פְּקַ֥ח open pə·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- עֵינֵֽי־ the eyes ‘ê·nê- אֵ֖לֶּה of these [men] ’êl·leh וְיִרְא֑וּ that they may see . ” wə·yir·’ū יְהוָה֙ Then YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּפְקַ֤ח opened way·yip̄·qaḥ עֵ֣ינֵיהֶ֔ם their eyes , ‘ê·nê·hem וַיִּרְא֕וּ and they looked around way·yir·’ū וְהִנֵּ֖ה and discovered that wə·hin·nêh בְּת֥וֹךְ they were in bə·ṯō·wḵ שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ Samaria . šō·mə·rō·wn 2 Kings 6:21 מֶֽלֶךְ־ And when the king me·leḵ- יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl כִּרְאֹת֖וֹ saw kir·’ō·ṯōw אוֹתָ֑ם them , ’ō·w·ṯām וַיֹּ֤אמֶר he asked way·yō·mer אֶל־ . . . ’el- אֱלִישָׁ֔ע Elisha , ’ĕ·lî·šā‘ אָבִֽי׃ “ My father , ’ā·ḇî אַכֶּ֖ה shall I kill [them] ? ’ak·keh הַאַכֶּ֥ה Shall I kill [them] ? ” ha·’ak·keh 2 Kings 6:22 לֹ֣א “ Do not lō תַכֶּ֔ה kill them , ” ṯak·keh וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ he replied . way·yō·mer אַתָּ֣ה “ {Would} you ’at·tāh מַכֶּ֑ה kill mak·keh הַאֲשֶׁ֥ר those ha·’ă·šer שָׁבִ֛יתָ you have captured šā·ḇî·ṯā בְּחַרְבְּךָ֥ with your own sword bə·ḥar·bə·ḵā וּֽבְקַשְׁתְּךָ֖ or bow ? ū·ḇə·qaš·tə·ḵā שִׂים֩ Set śîm לֶ֨חֶם food le·ḥem וָמַ֜יִם and water wā·ma·yim לִפְנֵיהֶ֗ם before them , lip̄·nê·hem וְיֹֽאכְלוּ֙ that they may eat wə·yō·ḵə·lū וְיִשְׁתּ֔וּ and drink wə·yiš·tū וְיֵלְכ֖וּ and then return wə·yê·lə·ḵū אֶל־ to ’el- אֲדֹנֵיהֶֽם׃ their master . ” ’ă·ḏō·nê·hem 2 Kings 6:23 גְדוֹלָ֗ה So [the king] prepared a great ḡə·ḏō·w·lāh וַיִּכְרֶ֨ה feast way·yiḵ·reh לָהֶ֜ם . . . lā·hem כֵּרָ֣ה for them , kê·rāh וַיֹּֽאכְלוּ֙ and after they had finished eating way·yō·ḵə·lū וַיִּשְׁתּ֔וּ and drinking , way·yiš·tū וַֽיְשַׁלְּחֵ֔ם he sent them away , way·šal·lə·ḥêm וַיֵּלְכ֖וּ and they returned way·yê·lə·ḵū אֶל־ to ’el- אֲדֹֽנֵיהֶ֑ם their master . ’ă·ḏō·nê·hem אֲרָ֔ם And the Aramean ’ă·rām גְּדוּדֵ֣י raiders gə·ḏū·ḏê וְלֹֽא־ did not wə·lō- לָב֖וֹא come lā·ḇō·w בְּאֶ֥רֶץ into the land bə·’e·reṣ יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃פ of Israel yiś·rā·’êl יָ֤סְפוּ again yā·sə·p̄ū עוֹד֙ . . . . ‘ō·wḏ 2 Kings 6:24 וַֽיְהִי֙ - way·hî אַחֲרֵי־ Some time later ’a·ḥă·rê- כֵ֔ן . . . , ḵên בֶּן־ vvv ben- הֲדַ֥ד Ben-hadad hă·ḏaḏ מֶֽלֶךְ־ king me·leḵ- אֲרָ֖ם of Aram ’ă·rām אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּקְבֹּ֛ץ assembled way·yiq·bōṣ כָּל־ his entire kāl- מַחֲנֵ֑הוּ army ma·ḥă·nê·hū וַיַּ֕עַל and marched up way·ya·‘al וַיָּ֖צַר to besiege way·yā·ṣar עַל־ . . . ‘al- שֹׁמְרֽוֹן׃ Samaria . šō·mə·rō·wn 2 Kings 6:25 וַיְהִ֨י So there was way·hî גָּדוֹל֙ a great gā·ḏō·wl
