2 Kings 6:3 הָֽאֶחָ֔ד Then one of them hā·’e·ḥāḏ וַיֹּ֙אמֶר֙ said , way·yō·mer נָ֖א “ Please nā ה֥וֹאֶל . . . hō·w·’el וְלֵ֣ךְ come wə·lêḵ אֶת־ with ’eṯ- עֲבָדֶ֑יךָ your servants . ” ‘ă·ḇā·ḏe·ḵā אֲנִ֥י “ I will ’ă·nî אֵלֵֽךְ׃ come , ” ’ê·lêḵ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר he replied . way·yō·mer 2 Kings 6:4 וַיֵּ֖לֶךְ So [Elisha] went way·yê·leḵ אִתָּ֑ם with them , ’it·tām וַיָּבֹ֙אוּ֙ and when they came way·yā·ḇō·’ū הַיַּרְדֵּ֔נָה to the Jordan , hay·yar·dê·nāh וַֽיִּגְזְר֖וּ they began to cut down way·yiḡ·zə·rū הָעֵצִֽים׃ some trees . hā·‘ê·ṣîm 2 Kings 6:5 וַיְהִ֤י - way·hî הָֽאֶחָד֙ As one hā·’e·ḥāḏ מַפִּ֣יל of them was cutting down map·pîl הַקּוֹרָ֔ה a tree , haq·qō·w·rāh וְאֶת־ - wə·’eṯ- הַבַּרְזֶ֖ל the iron [axe head] hab·bar·zel נָפַ֣ל fell nā·p̄al אֶל־ into ’el- הַמָּ֑יִם the water . ham·mā·yim אֲהָ֥הּ “ Oh , ’ă·hāh אֲדֹנִ֖י my master , ” ’ă·ḏō·nî וַיִּצְעַ֥ק he cried out way·yiṣ·‘aq וַיֹּ֛אמֶר . . . , way·yō·mer וְה֥וּא “ it wə·hū שָׁאֽוּל׃ was borrowed ! ” šā·’ūl 2 Kings 6:6 אָ֣נָה “ Where ’ā·nāh נָפָ֑ל did it fall ? ” nā·p̄āl וַיֹּ֥אמֶר asked way·yō·mer אִישׁ־ the man ’îš- הָאֱלֹהִ֖ים of God . hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיַּרְאֵ֙הוּ֙ And when he showed way·yar·’ê·hū אֶת־ him ’eṯ- הַמָּק֔וֹם the place , ham·mā·qō·wm וַיִּקְצָב־ the man of God cut way·yiq·ṣāḇ- עֵץ֙ a stick , ‘êṣ וַיַּשְׁלֶךְ־ threw way·yaš·leḵ- שָׁ֔מָּה it there , šām·māh הַבַּרְזֶֽל׃ and made the iron hab·bar·zel וַיָּ֖צֶף float . way·yā·ṣep̄ 2 Kings 6:7 הָ֣רֶם “ Lift [it] out hā·rem לָ֑ךְ . . . , ” lāḵ וַיֹּ֖אמֶר he said , way·yō·mer וַיִּשְׁלַ֥ח and [the man] reached out way·yiš·laḥ יָד֖וֹ his hand yā·ḏōw וַיִּקָּחֵֽהוּ׃פ and took it . way·yiq·qā·ḥê·hū 2 Kings 6:8 וּמֶ֣לֶךְ Now the king ū·me·leḵ אֲרָ֔ם of Aram ’ă·rām הָיָ֥ה was hā·yāh נִלְחָ֖ם at war nil·ḥām בְּיִשְׂרָאֵ֑ל against Israel . bə·yiś·rā·’êl וַיִּוָּעַץ֙ After consulting way·yiw·wā·‘aṣ אֶל־ with ’el- עֲבָדָ֣יו his servants , ‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw לֵאמֹ֗ר he said , lê·mōr תַּחֲנֹתִֽי׃ “ My camp [will be] ta·ḥă·nō·ṯî אֶל־ in ’el- פְּלֹנִ֥י such pə·lō·nî אַלְמֹנִ֖י and such ’al·mō·nî מְק֛וֹם a place . ” mə·qō·wm 2 Kings 6:9 אִ֣ישׁ Then the man ’îš הָאֱלֹהִ֗ים of God hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַיִּשְׁלַ֞ח sent way·yiš·laḥ אֶל־ word to ’el- מֶ֤לֶךְ the king me·leḵ יִשְׂרָאֵל֙ of Israel : yiś·rā·’êl לֵאמֹ֔ר . . . lê·mōr הִשָּׁ֕מֶר “ Be careful hiš·šā·mer מֵעֲבֹ֖ר passing by mê·‘ă·ḇōr הַזֶּ֑ה this haz·zeh הַמָּק֣וֹם place , ham·mā·qō·wm כִּֽי־ for kî- אֲרָ֥ם the Arameans ’ă·rām נְחִתִּֽים׃ are going down nə·ḥit·tîm
