Genesis 35:14 יַעֲקֹ֜ב So Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ וַיַּצֵּ֨ב set up way·yaṣ·ṣêḇ מַצֵּבָ֗ה a pillar maṣ·ṣê·ḇāh בַּמָּק֛וֹם in the place bam·mā·qō·wm אֲשֶׁר־ where ’ă·šer- דִּבֶּ֥ר [God] had spoken dib·ber אִתּ֖וֹ with him — ’it·tōw אָ֑בֶן a stone ’ā·ḇen מַצֶּ֣בֶת marker — maṣ·ṣe·ḇeṯ וַיַּסֵּ֤ךְ and he poured out way·yas·sêḵ נֶ֔סֶךְ a drink offering ne·seḵ עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ on it ‘ā·le·hā וַיִּצֹ֥ק and anointed it way·yi·ṣōq עָלֶ֖יהָ . . . ‘ā·le·hā שָֽׁמֶן׃ with oil . šā·men Genesis 35:15 יַעֲקֹ֜ב Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- וַיִּקְרָ֨א called way·yiq·rā שֵׁ֣ם . . . šêm הַמָּק֗וֹם the place ham·mā·qō·wm אֲשֶׁר֩ where ’ă·šer אֱלֹהִ֖ים God ’ĕ·lō·hîm דִּבֶּ֨ר had spoken dib·ber אִתּ֥וֹ with him ’it·tōw שָׁ֛ם vvv šām בֵּֽית־ vvv bêṯ- אֵֽל׃ Bethel . ’êl Genesis 35:16 וַיִּסְעוּ֙ Later, they set out way·yis·‘ū מִבֵּ֣ית from mib·bêṯ אֵ֔ל Bethel , ’êl וַֽיְהִי־ and while they were way·hî- ע֥וֹד still ‘ō·wḏ כִּבְרַת־ some distance kiḇ·raṯ- הָאָ֖רֶץ . . . hā·’ā·reṣ לָב֣וֹא . . . lā·ḇō·w אֶפְרָ֑תָה from Ephrath , ’ep̄·rā·ṯāh רָחֵ֖ל Rachel rā·ḥêl וַתֵּ֥לֶד began to give birth , wat·tê·leḏ בְּלִדְתָּֽהּ׃ and her labor bə·liḏ·tāh וַתְּקַ֥שׁ was difficult . wat·tə·qaš Genesis 35:17 וַיְהִ֥י During way·hî בְהַקְשֹׁתָ֖הּ her severe ḇə·haq·šō·ṯāh בְּלִדְתָּ֑הּ labor , bə·liḏ·tāh הַמְיַלֶּ֙דֶת֙ the midwife ham·yal·le·ḏeṯ וַתֹּ֨אמֶר said wat·tō·mer לָ֤הּ to her , lāh אַל־ “ Do not ’al- תִּ֣ירְאִ֔י be afraid , tî·rə·’î כִּֽי־ for kî- לָ֖ךְ you lāḵ זֶ֥ה are having zeh גַם־ another ḡam- בֵּֽן׃ son . ” bên Genesis 35:18 וַיְהִ֞י And way·hî בְּצֵ֤את with her last bə·ṣêṯ נַפְשָׁהּ֙ breath — nap̄·šāh כִּ֣י for kî מֵ֔תָה she was dying — mê·ṯāh וַתִּקְרָ֥א she named wat·tiq·rā שְׁמ֖וֹ . . . šə·mōw בֶּן־ vvv him ben- אוֹנִ֑י Ben-oni . ’ō·w·nî וְאָבִ֖יו But his father wə·’ā·ḇîw קָֽרָא־ called qā·rā- ל֥וֹ him lōw בִנְיָמִֽין׃ Benjamin . ḇin·yā·mîn Genesis 35:19 רָחֵ֑ל So Rachel rā·ḥêl וַתָּ֖מָת died wat·tā·māṯ וַתִּקָּבֵר֙ and was buried wat·tiq·qā·ḇêr בְּדֶ֣רֶךְ on the way bə·ḏe·reḵ אֶפְרָ֔תָה to Ephrath ’ep̄·rā·ṯāh הִ֖וא (that is , hî בֵּ֥ית . . . bêṯ לָֽחֶם׃ Bethlehem) . lā·ḥem Genesis 35:20 יַעֲקֹ֛ב Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ וַיַּצֵּ֧ב set up way·yaṣ·ṣêḇ מַצֵּבָ֖ה a pillar maṣ·ṣê·ḇāh עַל־ on her ‘al- קְבֻרָתָ֑הּ grave ; qə·ḇu·rā·ṯāh
