בָמ֔וֹת for the high places ḇā·mō·wṯ מִקְצ֤וֹת from every class miq·ṣō·wṯ הָעָם֙ of people . hā·‘ām יְמַלֵּ֣א He ordained yə·mal·lê אֶת־ - ’eṯ- יָד֔וֹ - yā·ḏōw הֶֽחָפֵץ֙ anyone who desired he·ḥā·p̄êṣ וִיהִ֖י to be wî·hî כֹּהֲנֵ֥י a priest kō·hă·nê בָמֽוֹת׃ of the high places . ḇā·mō·wṯ 1 Kings 13:34 הַזֶּ֔ה And this haz·zeh וַיְהִי֙ was way·hî בַּדָּבָ֣ר . . . bad·dā·ḇār לְחַטַּ֖את the sin lə·ḥaṭ·ṭaṯ בֵּ֣ית of the house bêṯ יָרָבְעָ֑ם of Jeroboam yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām וּלְהַכְחִיד֙ that led to its extermination ū·lə·haḵ·ḥîḏ וּלְהַשְׁמִ֔יד and destruction ū·lə·haš·mîḏ מֵעַ֖ל from mê·‘al פְּנֵ֥י the face pə·nê הָאֲדָמָֽה׃פ of the earth . hā·’ă·ḏā·māh 1 Kings 14:1 הַהִ֔יא At that ha·hî בָּעֵ֣ת time bā·‘êṯ אֲבִיָּ֥ה Abijah ’ă·ḇî·yāh בֶן־ son ḇen- יָרָבְעָֽם׃ of Jeroboam yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām חָלָ֖ה became ill , ḥā·lāh 1 Kings 14:2 יָרָבְעָ֜ם and Jeroboam yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer לְאִשְׁתּ֗וֹ to his wife , lə·’iš·tōw נָא֙ “ Now nā ק֤וּמִי get up , qū·mî וְהִשְׁתַּנִּ֔ית disguise yourself wə·hiš·tan·nîṯ וְלֹ֣א so they will not wə·lō יֵֽדְע֔וּ recognize yê·ḏə·‘ū כִּי־ kî- אַתִּי you ʾat·tī אֵ֣שֶׁת as [my] wife ’ê·šeṯ יָרָבְעָ֑ם . . . , yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām וְהָלַ֣כְתְּ and go wə·hā·laḵt שִׁלֹ֗ה to Shiloh . ši·lōh הִנֵּה־ For hin·nêh- אֲחִיָּ֣ה Ahijah ’ă·ḥî·yāh הַנָּבִ֔יא the prophet han·nā·ḇî שָׁם֙ is there ; šām הֽוּא־ it was he hū- דִבֶּ֥ר who spoke ḏib·ber עָלַ֛י about my ‘ā·lay לְמֶ֖לֶךְ kingship lə·me·leḵ עַל־ over ‘al- הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הָעָ֥ם people . hā·‘ām 1 Kings 14:3 וְלָקַ֣חַתְּ Take wə·lā·qa·ḥat בְּ֠יָדֵךְ with you bə·yā·ḏêḵ עֲשָׂרָ֨ה ten ‘ă·śā·rāh לֶ֧חֶם loaves of bread , le·ḥem וְנִקֻּדִ֛ים some cakes , wə·niq·qu·ḏîm וּבַקְבֻּ֥ק and a jar ū·ḇaq·buq דְּבַ֖שׁ of honey , də·ḇaš וּבָ֣את and go ū·ḇāṯ אֵלָ֑יו to him . ’ê·lāw ה֚וּא He hū יַגִּ֣יד will tell yag·gîḏ לָ֔ךְ you lāḵ מַה־ what mah- יִּֽהְיֶ֖ה will become yih·yeh לַנָּֽעַר׃ of the boy . ” lan·nā·‘ar 1 Kings 14:4 יָרָבְעָ֔ם Jeroboam’s yā·rā·ḇə·‘ām אֵ֣שֶׁת wife ’ê·šeṯ וַתַּ֤עַשׂ did wat·ta·‘aś כֵּן֙ as [instructed] ; kên וַתָּ֙קָם֙ she arose wat·tā·qām וַתֵּ֣לֶךְ and went wat·tê·leḵ שִׁלֹ֔ה to Shiloh ši·lōh וַתָּבֹ֖א and arrived wat·tā·ḇō אֲחִיָּ֑ה at Ahijah’s ’ă·ḥî·yāh בֵּ֣ית house . bêṯ וַאֲחִיָּ֙הוּ֙ Now Ahijah wa·’ă·ḥî·yā·hū יָכֹ֣ל could yā·ḵōl לֹֽא־ not lō- לִרְא֔וֹת see , lir·’ō·wṯ כִּ֛י for kî עֵינָ֖יו his eyes ‘ê·nāw קָ֥מוּ were dim qā·mū מִשֵּׂיבֽוֹ׃ס because of his age . miś·śê·ḇōw
