אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ עֲשָׂרָ֥ה ten ‘ă·śā·rāh הַשְּׁבָטִֽים׃ tribes . haš·šə·ḇā·ṭîm 1 Kings 11:32 הָאֶחָ֖ד But one hā·’e·ḥāḏ וְהַשֵּׁ֥בֶט tribe wə·haš·šê·ḇeṭ יִֽהְיֶה־ will remain yih·yeh- לּ֑וֹ lōw לְמַ֣עַן׀ for the sake lə·ma·‘an עַבְדִּ֣י of My servant ‘aḇ·dî דָוִ֗ד David ḏā·wiḏ וּלְמַ֙עַן֙ and for the sake ū·lə·ma·‘an יְר֣וּשָׁלִַ֔ם of Jerusalem , yə·rū·šā·lim הָעִיר֙ the city hā·‘îr אֲשֶׁ֣ר - ’ă·šer בָּחַ֣רְתִּי I have chosen bā·ḥar·tî בָ֔הּ ḇāh מִכֹּ֖ל out of all mik·kōl שִׁבְטֵ֥י the tribes šiḇ·ṭê יִשְׂרָאֵֽל׃ of Israel . yiś·rā·’êl 1 Kings 11:33 יַ֣עַן׀ For ya·‘an אֲשֶׁ֣ר they have ’ă·šer עֲזָב֗וּנִי forsaken Me ‘ă·zā·ḇū·nî וַיִּֽשְׁתַּחֲווּ֮ to worship way·yiš·ta·ḥă·wū לְעַשְׁתֹּרֶת֮ Ashtoreth lə·‘aš·tō·reṯ אֱלֹהֵ֣י the goddess ’ĕ·lō·hê צִֽדֹנִין֒ of the Sidonians , ṣi·ḏō·nîn לִכְמוֹשׁ֙ Chemosh liḵ·mō·wōš אֱלֹהֵ֣י the god ’ĕ·lō·hê מוֹאָ֔ב of the Moabites , mō·w·’āḇ וּלְמִלְכֹּ֖ם and Milcom ū·lə·mil·kōm אֱלֹהֵ֣י the god ’ĕ·lō·hê בְנֵֽי־ of the Ammonites ḇə·nê- עַמּ֑וֹן . . . . ‘am·mō·wn וְלֹֽא־ They have not wə·lō- הָלְכ֣וּ walked hā·lə·ḵū בִדְרָכַ֗י in My ways , ḇiḏ·rā·ḵay לַעֲשׂ֨וֹת nor done la·‘ă·śō·wṯ הַיָּשָׁ֧ר what is right hay·yā·šār בְּעֵינַ֛י in My eyes , bə·‘ê·nay וְחֻקֹּתַ֥י nor [kept] My statutes wə·ḥuq·qō·ṯay וּמִשְׁפָּטַ֖י and judgments , ū·miš·pā·ṭay אָבִֽיו׃ as Solomon’s father ’ā·ḇîw כְּדָוִ֥ד David did . kə·ḏā·wiḏ 1 Kings 11:34 וְלֹֽא־ Nevertheless, I will not wə·lō- אֶקַּ֥ח take ’eq·qaḥ אֶת־ - ’eṯ- כָּל־ the whole kāl- הַמַּמְלָכָ֖ה kingdom ham·mam·lā·ḵāh מִיָּד֑וֹ out of [Solomon’s] hand , mî·yā·ḏōw כִּ֣י׀ because kî אֲשִׁתֶ֗נּוּ I have made him ’ă·ši·ṯen·nū נָשִׂ֣יא ruler nā·śî כֹּ֚ל all kōl יְמֵ֣י the days yə·mê חַיָּ֔יו of his life ḥay·yāw לְמַ֨עַן for the sake lə·ma·‘an דָּוִ֤ד of David dā·wiḏ עַבְדִּי֙ My servant , ‘aḇ·dî אֲשֶׁ֣ר whom ’ă·šer בָּחַ֣רְתִּי I chose bā·ḥar·tî אֹת֔וֹ - ’ō·ṯōw אֲשֶׁ֥ר because ’ă·šer שָׁמַ֖ר he kept šā·mar מִצְוֺתַ֥י My commandments miṣ·wō·ṯay וְחֻקֹּתָֽי׃ and statutes . wə·ḥuq·qō·ṯāy 1 Kings 11:35 וְלָקַחְתִּ֥י But I will take wə·lā·qaḥ·tî עֲשֶׂ֥רֶת ten ‘ă·śe·reṯ הַשְּׁבָטִֽים׃ tribes haš·šə·ḇā·ṭîm הַמְּלוּכָ֖ה of the kingdom ham·mə·lū·ḵāh מִיַּ֣ד from the hand mî·yaḏ בְּנ֑וֹ of his son bə·nōw וּנְתַתִּ֣יהָ and give them ū·nə·ṯat·tî·hā לְּךָ֔ to you . lə·ḵā אֵ֖ת - ’êṯ 1 Kings 11:36 אֶתֵּ֣ן I will give ’et·tên אֶחָ֑ד one ’e·ḥāḏ שֵֽׁבֶט־ tribe šê·ḇeṭ- וְלִבְנ֖וֹ to his son , wə·liḇ·nōw לְמַ֣עַן so that lə·ma·‘an עַ֠בְדִּי My servant ‘aḇ·dî לְדָֽוִיד־ David lə·ḏā·wîḏ- כָּֽל־ will always kāl- הַיָּמִ֤ים׀ . . . hay·yā·mîm הֱיֽוֹת־ have hĕ·yō·wṯ- נִ֣יר a lamp nîr
