בִּירוּשָׁלִַ֙ם֙ in Jerusalem , bî·rū·šā·lim וּבַלְּבָנ֔וֹן Lebanon , ū·ḇal·lə·ḇā·nō·wn וּבְכֹ֖ל and throughout ū·ḇə·ḵōl אֶ֥רֶץ the land ’e·reṣ מֶמְשַׁלְתּֽוֹ׃ of his dominion . mem·šal·tōw 1 Kings 9:20 כָּל־ As for all kāl- הָ֠עָם the people hā·‘ām הַנּוֹתָ֨ר who remained han·nō·w·ṯār מִן־ of min- הָאֱמֹרִ֜י the Amorites , hā·’ĕ·mō·rî הַחִתִּ֤י Hittites , ha·ḥit·tî הַפְּרִזִּי֙ Perizzites , hap·pə·riz·zî הַחִוִּ֣י Hivites , ha·ḥiw·wî וְהַיְבוּסִ֔י and Jebusites wə·hay·ḇū·sî אֲשֶׁ֛ר ( the people who ’ă·šer הֵֽמָּה׃ were hêm·māh לֹֽא־ not lō- מִבְּנֵ֥י Israelites mib·bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל . . . ) — yiś·rā·’êl 1 Kings 9:21 בְּנֵיהֶ֗ם their descendants bə·nê·hem אֲשֶׁ֨ר who ’ă·šer נֹתְר֤וּ remained nō·ṯə·rū בָּאָ֔רֶץ in the land bā·’ā·reṣ אַחֲרֵיהֶם֙ - , ’a·ḥă·rê·hem אֲשֶׁ֧ר those whom ’ă·šer בְּנֵ֥י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֖ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl לֹֽא־ were unable lō- יָכְל֛וּ . . . yā·ḵə·lū לְהַֽחֲרִימָ֑ם to devote to destruction — lə·ha·ḥă·rî·mām שְׁלֹמֹה֙ Solomon šə·lō·mōh וַיַּעֲלֵ֤ם conscripted these people way·ya·‘ă·lêm לְמַס־ to be forced lə·mas- עֹבֵ֔ד laborers , ‘ō·ḇêḏ עַ֖ד as they are to ‘aḏ הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הַיּ֥וֹם day . hay·yō·wm 1 Kings 9:22 שְׁלֹמֹ֖ה But Solomon šə·lō·mōh לֹֽא־ did not lō- נָתַ֥ן consign nā·ṯan וּמִבְּנֵי֙ vvv ū·mib·bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל any of the Israelites yiś·rā·’êl עָ֑בֶד to slavery , ‘ā·ḇeḏ כִּי־ because kî- הֵ֞ם they [were] hêm אַנְשֵׁ֣י his men ’an·šê הַמִּלְחָמָ֗ה of war , ham·mil·ḥā·māh וַעֲבָדָיו֙ his servants , wa·‘ă·ḇā·ḏāw וְשָׂרָ֣יו his officers , wə·śā·rāw וְשָׁלִשָׁ֔יו his captains , wə·šā·li·šāw וְשָׂרֵ֥י and the commanders wə·śā·rê רִכְבּ֖וֹ of his chariots riḵ·bōw וּפָרָשָֽׁיו׃ס and cavalry . ū·p̄ā·rā·šāw 1 Kings 9:23 אֵ֣לֶּה׀ [They] ’êl·leh שָׂרֵ֣י [were also] the chief śā·rê הַנִּצָּבִ֗ים officers han·niṣ·ṣā·ḇîm אֲשֶׁ֤ר - ’ă·šer עַל־ over ‘al- לִשְׁלֹמֹ֔ה Solomon’s liš·lō·mōh הַמְּלָאכָה֙ projects : ham·mə·lā·ḵāh חֲמִשִּׁ֖ים 550 ḥă·miš·šîm וַחֲמֵ֣שׁ . . . wa·ḥă·mêš מֵא֑וֹת . . . mê·’ō·wṯ הָרֹדִ֣ים supervisors over hā·rō·ḏîm בָּעָ֔ם the people bā·‘ām הָעֹשִׂ֖ים who did hā·‘ō·śîm בַּמְּלָאכָֽה׃ the work . bam·mə·lā·ḵāh 1 Kings 9:24 אַ֣ךְ As soon as ’aḵ פַּרְעֹ֗ה Pharaoh’s par·‘ōh בַּת־ daughter baṯ- עָֽלְתָה֙ had come up ‘ā·lə·ṯāh מֵעִ֣יר from the City mê·‘îr דָּוִ֔ד of David dā·wiḏ אֶל־ to ’el- בֵּיתָ֖הּ the palace bê·ṯāh אֲשֶׁ֣ר that ’ă·šer בָּֽנָה־ [Solomon] had built bā·nāh- לָ֑הּ for her , lāh אָ֖ז he ’āz בָּנָ֥ה built bā·nāh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- הַמִּלּֽוֹא׃ the supporting terraces . ham·mil·lō·w
