עַל־ - ‘al- וַיָּסֹ֧כּוּ and overshadowed way·yā·sōk·kū מִלְמָֽעְלָה׃ . . . mil·mā·‘ə·lāh הָֽאָר֑וֹן the ark hā·’ā·rō·wn וְעַל־ and wə·‘al- בַּדָּ֖יו its poles . bad·dāw 1 Kings 8:8 הַבַּדִּ֤ים The poles hab·bad·dîm וַֽיַּאֲרִכוּ֮ extended far enough way·ya·’ă·ri·ḵū הַבַּדִּים֒ that their hab·bad·dîm רָאשֵׁ֨י ends rā·šê וַיֵּרָאוּ֩ were visible way·yê·rā·’ū מִן־ from min- הַקֹּ֙דֶשׁ֙ the Holy Place haq·qō·ḏeš עַל־ in ‘al- פְּנֵ֣י front pə·nê הַדְּבִ֔יר of the inner sanctuary , had·də·ḇîr וְלֹ֥א but not wə·lō יֵרָא֖וּ - yê·rā·’ū הַח֑וּצָה from outside [the Holy Place] ; ha·ḥū·ṣāh וַיִּ֣הְיוּ and they are way·yih·yū שָׁ֔ם there šām עַ֖ד to ‘aḏ הַזֶּֽה׃ this haz·zeh הַיּ֥וֹם day . hay·yō·wm 1 Kings 8:9 אֵ֚ין [There was] nothing ’ên בָּֽאָר֔וֹן in the ark bā·’ā·rō·wn רַ֗ק except raq שְׁנֵי֙ the two šə·nê הָאֲבָנִ֔ים stone hā·’ă·ḇā·nîm לֻח֣וֹת tablets lu·ḥō·wṯ אֲשֶׁ֨ר that ’ă·šer מֹשֶׁ֖ה Moses mō·šeh הִנִּ֥חַ had placed hin·ni·aḥ שָׁ֛ם in it šām בְּחֹרֵ֑ב at Horeb , bə·ḥō·rêḇ אֲשֶׁ֨ר where ’ă·šer יְהוָה֙ YHWH Yah·weh כָּרַ֤ת had made a covenant kā·raṯ עִם־ with ‘im- בְּנֵ֣י the Israelites bə·nê יִשְׂרָאֵ֔ל . . . yiś·rā·’êl בְּצֵאתָ֖ם after they had come out bə·ṣê·ṯām מֵאֶ֥רֶץ of the land mê·’e·reṣ מִצְרָֽיִם׃ of Egypt . miṣ·rā·yim 1 Kings 8:10 וַיְהִ֕י And way·hî הַכֹּהֲנִ֖ים when the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm בְּצֵ֥את came out bə·ṣêṯ מִן־ of min- הַקֹּ֑דֶשׁ the Holy Place , haq·qō·ḏeš וְהֶעָנָ֥ן the cloud wə·he·‘ā·nān מָלֵ֖א filled mā·lê אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בֵּ֥ית the house bêṯ יְהוָֽה׃ of YHWH Yah·weh 1 Kings 8:11 הַכֹּהֲנִ֛ים so that the priests hak·kō·hă·nîm יָכְל֧וּ could yā·ḵə·lū וְלֹֽא־ not wə·lō- לַעֲמֹ֥ד stand there la·‘ă·mōḏ לְשָׁרֵ֖ת to minister lə·šā·rêṯ מִפְּנֵ֥י because mip·pə·nê הֶֽעָנָ֑ן of the cloud ; he·‘ā·nān כִּי־ for kî- כְבוֹד־ the glory ḵə·ḇō·wḏ- יְהוָ֖ה of YHWH Yah·weh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- מָלֵ֥א filled mā·lê בֵּ֥ית the house bêṯ יְהוָֽה׃פ of YHWH . Yah·weh 1 Kings 8:12 אָ֖ז Then ’āz שְׁלֹמֹ֑ה Solomon šə·lō·mōh אָמַ֣ר declared : ’ā·mar יְהוָ֣ה “ YHWH Yah·weh אָמַ֔ר has said ’ā·mar לִשְׁכֹּ֖ן that He would dwell liš·kōn בָּעֲרָפֶֽל׃ in the thick cloud . bā·‘ă·rā·p̄el 1 Kings 8:13 בָּנֹ֥ה I have indeed built bā·nōh בָנִ֛יתִי . . . ḇā·nî·ṯî לָ֑ךְ You lāḵ זְבֻ֖ל an exalted zə·ḇul בֵּ֥ית house , bêṯ מָכ֥וֹן a place mā·ḵō·wn לְשִׁבְתְּךָ֖ for You to dwell lə·šiḇ·tə·ḵā
