Genesis 31:44 לְכָ֛ה Come lə·ḵāh וְעַתָּ֗ה now , wə·‘at·tāh נִכְרְתָ֥ה let us make niḵ·rə·ṯāh בְרִ֖ית a covenant , ḇə·rîṯ וָאָ֑תָּה you wā·’āt·tāh אֲנִ֣י and I , ’ă·nî וְהָיָ֥ה and let it serve as wə·hā·yāh לְעֵ֖ד a witness lə·‘êḏ בֵּינִ֥י between you and me bê·nî וּבֵינֶֽךָ׃ . . . . ” ū·ḇê·ne·ḵā Genesis 31:45 יַעֲקֹ֖ב So Jacob ya·‘ă·qōḇ וַיִּקַּ֥ח picked out way·yiq·qaḥ אָ֑בֶן a stone ’ā·ḇen וַיְרִימֶ֖הָ and set it up way·rî·me·hā מַצֵּבָֽה׃ as a pillar , maṣ·ṣê·ḇāh Genesis 31:46 יַעֲקֹ֤ב and [he] ya·‘ă·qōḇ וַיֹּ֨אמֶר said way·yō·mer לְאֶחָיו֙ to his relatives , lə·’e·ḥāw לִקְט֣וּ “ Gather liq·ṭū אֲבָנִ֔ים [some] stones . ” ’ă·ḇā·nîm וַיִּקְח֥וּ So they took way·yiq·ḥū אֲבָנִ֖ים stones ’ă·ḇā·nîm וַיַּֽעֲשׂוּ־ and made way·ya·‘ă·śū- גָ֑ל a mound , ḡāl שָׁ֖ם and there šām עַל־ by ‘al- הַגָּֽל׃ the mound hag·gāl וַיֹּ֥אכְלוּ they ate . way·yō·ḵə·lū Genesis 31:47 לָבָ֔ן Laban lā·ḇān וַיִּקְרָא־ called it way·yiq·rā- ל֣וֹ . . . lōw יְגַ֖ר vvv yə·ḡar שָׂהֲדוּתָ֑א Jegar-sahadutha , śā·hă·ḏū·ṯā וְיַֽעֲקֹ֔ב and Jacob wə·ya·‘ă·qōḇ קָ֥רָא called it qā·rā ל֖וֹ . . . lōw גַּלְעֵֽד׃ Galeed . gal·‘êḏ Genesis 31:48 לָבָ֔ן Then Laban lā·ḇān וַיֹּ֣אמֶר declared , way·yō·mer הַזֶּ֥ה “ This haz·zeh הַגַּ֨ל mound hag·gal עֵ֛ד is a witness ‘êḏ בֵּינִ֥י between you bê·nî וּבֵינְךָ֖ and me ū·ḇê·nə·ḵā הַיּ֑וֹם this day . ” hay·yō·wm עַל־ Therefore ‘al- כֵּ֥ן . . . kên קָרָֽא־ the place was called qā·rā- שְׁמ֖וֹ . . . šə·mōw גַּלְעֵֽד׃ Galeed . gal·‘êḏ Genesis 31:49 וְהַמִּצְפָּה֙ [It was] also [called] Mizpah , wə·ham·miṣ·pāh אֲשֶׁ֣ר because ’ă·šer אָמַ֔ר [Laban] said , ’ā·mar יְהוָ֖ה “ May YHWH Yah·weh יִ֥צֶף keep watch yi·ṣep̄ בֵּינִ֣י between you bê·nî וּבֵינֶ֑ךָ and me ū·ḇê·ne·ḵā כִּ֥י when kî נִסָּתֵ֖ר we are absent nis·sā·ṯêr מֵרֵעֵֽהוּ׃ from each other mê·rê·‘ê·hū אִ֥ישׁ . . . . ’îš Genesis 31:50 אִם־ If ’im- תְּעַנֶּ֣ה you mistreat tə·‘an·neh אֶת־ - ’eṯ- בְּנֹתַ֗י my daughters bə·nō·ṯay וְאִם־ or wə·’im- תִּקַּ֤ח take tiq·qaḥ עַל־ other ‘al- בְּנֹתַ֔י . . . bə·nō·ṯay נָשִׁים֙ wives , nā·šîm אֵ֥ין although no ’ên אִ֖ישׁ one ’îš עִמָּ֑נוּ is with us , ‘im·mā·nū רְאֵ֕ה remember rə·’êh אֱלֹהִ֥ים that God ’ĕ·lō·hîm עֵ֖ד [is a] witness ‘êḏ בֵּינִ֥י between you and me bê·nî וּבֵינֶֽךָ׃ . . . . ” ū·ḇê·ne·ḵā Genesis 31:51 לָבָ֖ן Laban lā·ḇān
