הַמֶּֽלֶךְ׃ס And the king ham·me·leḵ וַיִּשָּׁ֥בַֽע swore an oath way·yiš·šā·ḇa‘ ל֖וֹ to him . lōw 2 Samuel 19:24 וּמְפִבֹ֙שֶׁת֙ Then Mephibosheth , ū·mə·p̄i·ḇō·šeṯ שָׁא֔וּל Saul’s šā·’ūl בֶּן־ grandson , ben- יָרַ֖ד went down yā·raḏ לִקְרַ֣את to meet liq·raṯ הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king . ham·me·leḵ וְלֹא־ He had not wə·lō- עָשָׂ֨ה cared ‘ā·śāh רַגְלָ֜יו for his feet raḡ·lāw וְלֹא־ [or] wə·lō- עָשָׂ֣ה trimmed ‘ā·śāh שְׂפָמ֗וֹ his mustache śə·p̄ā·mōw וְאֶת־ [or] wə·’eṯ- כִבֵּ֔ס washed ḵib·bês בְּגָדָיו֙ his clothes bə·ḡā·ḏāw לֹ֣א . . . lō לְמִן־ from lə·min- הַיּוֹם֙ the day hay·yō·wm הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king ham·me·leḵ לֶ֣כֶת had left le·ḵeṯ עַד־ until ‘aḏ- הַיּ֖וֹם the day hay·yō·wm אֲשֶׁר־ - ’ă·šer- בָּ֥א he returned bā בְשָׁלֽוֹם׃ safely . ḇə·šā·lō·wm 2 Samuel 19:25 וַיְהִ֛י And way·hî כִּי־ - kî- בָ֥א he came ḇā יְרוּשָׁלִַ֖ם from Jerusalem yə·rū·šā·lim לִקְרַ֣את to meet liq·raṯ הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ [who] ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּ֤אמֶר asked way·yō·mer לוֹ֙ him , lōw מְפִיבֹֽשֶׁת׃ “ Mephibosheth , mə·p̄î·ḇō·šeṯ לָ֛מָּה why lām·māh לֹא־ did you not lō- הָלַ֥כְתָּ go hā·laḵ·tā עִמִּ֖י with me ? ” ‘im·mî 2 Samuel 19:26 אֲדֹנִ֥י “ My lord ’ă·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֖לֶךְ the king , ” ham·me·leḵ וַיֹּאמַ֕ר he replied , way·yō·mar כִּ֥י “ because kî עַבְדֶּֽךָ׃ [I] ‘aḇ·de·ḵā פִסֵּ֖חַ am lame , p̄is·sê·aḥ עַבְדְּךָ֜ [I] ‘aḇ·də·ḵā אָמַ֨ר said , ’ā·mar הַחֲמ֨וֹר ‘ I will have my donkey ha·ḥă·mō·wr לִּי֩ . . . lî אֶחְבְּשָׁה־ saddled ’eḥ·bə·šāh- וְאֶרְכַּ֤ב so that I may ride wə·’er·kaḇ עָלֶ֙יהָ֙ on it ‘ā·le·hā וְאֵלֵ֣ךְ and go wə·’ê·lêḵ אֶת־ with ’eṯ- הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king . ’ ham·me·leḵ עַבְדִּ֣י But my servant [Ziba] ‘aḇ·dî רִמָּ֑נִי deceived me , rim·mā·nî כִּֽי־ - kî- 2 Samuel 19:27 וַיְרַגֵּ֣ל and he has slandered way·rag·gêl בְּעַבְדְּךָ֔ your servant bə·‘aḇ·də·ḵā אֶל־ to ’el- אֲדֹנִ֖י my lord ’ă·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֑לֶךְ the king . ham·me·leḵ וַאדֹנִ֤י Yet my lord wa·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֙לֶךְ֙ the king [is] ham·me·leḵ כְּמַלְאַ֣ךְ like the angel kə·mal·’aḵ הָאֱלֹהִ֔ים of God , hā·’ĕ·lō·hîm וַעֲשֵׂ֥ה so do wa·‘ă·śêh הַטּ֖וֹב [what is] good haṭ·ṭō·wḇ בְּעֵינֶֽיךָ׃ in your eyes . bə·‘ê·ne·ḵā 2 Samuel 19:28 כִּי֩ For kî לֹ֨א . . . lō הָיָ֜ה . . . hā·yāh כָּל־ all kāl- בֵּ֣ית the house bêṯ אָבִ֗י of my grandfather ’ā·ḇî כִּ֤י . . . kî אִם־ . . . ’im- אַנְשֵׁי־ . . . ’an·šê- מָ֙וֶת֙ deserves death mā·weṯ לַאדֹנִ֣י from my lord la·ḏō·nî הַמֶּ֔לֶךְ the king , ham·me·leḵ
